Testicular fortitude and belief in your plan

It also helps to have a really really good scouting staff and GM that allows that philosophy to work when it is stucken to.

That's a rather extreme example, wouldn't you say? The man was one of the greatest martial arts masters in modern times, and I'm just a guy (5'11, 170 pounds) who doesn't work out. With that said, the idea that he'd consistently win fights against heavily muscled men twice his size is something that only happens in fiction. People love the idea of the pencil necked kid taking karate lessons and then giving all of the bullies their comeuppance. Everyone (Americans, in particular) eats that stuff up because it's edifying, feel-good nonsense, it doesn't happen outside of the movies. Size (muscle mass, in particular) wins in the real world, that's why humans invented weapons.

Again, you haven't seen or been in many fights have you.

Seen a lot of man mountains get taken down by pencil necks (skilled in karate, no doubt!) in your day? Glass jawed drunks in bars don't count.

Yes, Harvin is a pencil neck.

And yes, I have been privy to watching a wiry guy land a punch on some meathead's cocksucker and lights out.  Several times actually.

Then there's the guy I used to work with, Greg.  5'4", athletic guy who just happen to go to Thailand every year to compete in Thai boxing championships.  Watched him throw around 3 meatballs at the same time.  You think it was mass that was doing the ass kicking?

It's knowing what you're doing and it's abundantly apparent you don't.

Oh, and I have 5 inches and 70 pounds on you.  There is always someone badder.  I used to relish the chest thumpers putting on the show only to watch them go down in a heap because they didn't know how to get the **** out of the way of a button shot.

Back to football, this may impact the Packers as Lewis is the remaining starting CB for New Orleans. If he is moved then both $$$ and a position open up for Tramon.

@JasonLaCanfora: Saints aren't done making deals. Actively shopping disgruntled CB Keenan Lewis, asking teams not to divulge their inquiries ...

@JasonLaCanfora: Lewis took to social media recently to voice his disapproval of the Saints drastic reshaping this offseason. Sean Payton is on the warpath..

@JasonLaCanfora: Many sources have said if Payton isn't convinced a player is part of the solution he could be gone. Lewis signed big contract w/NO in 2013.

LaCanfora for the win!

@JasonLaCanfora: As a sidenote, the Vikings now have two outliers from the 2013 WR free agent class w/ Wallace and Greg Jennings both on bloated deals.

@JasonLaCanfora: Wallace had fallen out of favor with the coaching staff and his $12M/yr deal was a bust there. Addition by subtraction and more cap space...

It was reported Greg turned down $11 million in 2012 because he felt he was worth $15 million though that was never fully confirmed. He turned down $8 million per in 2013 and scooted off to the land of broken dreams.

The bottom line is Greg strung some bad choices together. It happens.

Whats certain as the sun rising is this. About 6 months from today on a Thursday, Sunday, or Monday night Greg will be sitting at home (and possibly sitting 4th on the depth chart) watching Brett Favre soak up the admiration of his return to Green Bay and wonder how in the ever loving **** he sought out advice from the grey beard during his bitter period. And everything is going to wash over him like a scalding Juicy Lucy.

Anyone else think the Bills went after Harvin because word got out that the Parriots were interested? Rex has always had a hardon for NE. I'm sure the Bills were interested and needed the help, but the only word going public about Harvin is that the Pats and Packers were the teams to watch and then really quickly he's a Bill on a short term deal. Seems funny to me!

GD, I saw public speculation that the Bills were interested prior to Harvin's release from the Jets. Now all these teams are hearing rumors public or otherwise and it might very well be that the Bills were aware of NE interest and acted as you said. For myself the fact that Rex coached Harvin for the end of last season is as determinative as anything. Ryan must think there is something he can work with there. If it has the side benefit of denying Billy a shiny new toy that's fine, but I have to think Ryan himself figures he can unlock the Harvin enigma.
