Tyrique Stevenson had a pretty strong rookie year too.  Word is they expect him to be very good opposite Jaylon Jennings.  Tory Taylor is supposed to be a field flipper but I haven't heard much since he was drafted.

I just hope Tory has the same workload he had at Iowa.

Watched the game today.  You could tell the kid has a lot to learn, didn’t look comfortable in the pocket.   You could also tell he has immense talent.   When he went off script, he looked special.

Viqueens game…..saw Aaron Jones not in uniform on the queens sideline.  I swear he had purple and gold braids and beard!!!  The tips of his braids and the tip of his beard was kinda goldish, and the tops of his braids were purple.  He had a hat on, but I swear I saw purple.  😳

and Aaron Jones, doesn’t have purple hair….just two toned braids and beard.  Was talking to the queens side line reporter, and I got a good look.  He was just wearing purple sun glasses.  Damn I’m gonna miss him in GB.   😢.  Oh and they’re gonna win….27 - 10 now, and 8 minutes to go in the game.

So basically the same thing he was at USC.  Being good off script is fine, but that can't be all you do in the NFL.

After watching him at USC and these first couple Pre-Season games ....the key is keeping this guy IN the pocket. Seal the edges and don't let him escape. Plaster the WR's/TE's Force him to be a QB from the pocket. Same thing as Justin Fields. Let's see if Caleb improves from that.

Here's the lame-ass bears 2024 schedule

https://www.pro-football-refer...m/teams/chi/2024.htm

First up are the Titans of Tennessee

And here's the depth chart for the Titans

https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/TEN

Titans DT Jeffrey Simmons already commented he's looking forward to introducing himself to Williams, up close and personal.

Titans also added all-world OL guru Bill Callahan to their lineup; his son Brian is the new HC and hiring the best OL coach you can find-  is a pretty smert move

I know the betting sites are down on Tennessee, but if they get any decent play out of Will Levis at QB, they could surprise.  Hopkins, Ridley and Boyd make up a very good WR corp.  Pollard and Spears can run the football.  And the O-Line has two 1st round picks, a 2nd, a 3rd, and a seasoned vet.  And on defense, the have one or more "stars" at each level.

This will be a good test out of the gate for the upstart Bears and C. Williams.

I'm watching Hard Knocks and it's weird watching Eberflus 1 on 1 with Caleb going through tape.  I know it's just a snippet, but that seems like time better spent with his position coach or OC. There's only so many hours in the day. Let the offensive guys build him.

The sense I get is he's the head coach so he feels like he has to give his input. He's a defensive guy meddling in his new OCs territory.  It's ultimately his show, but I'd rather leave development up to the guys who are running that side of the ball.   They have their points of emphasis, adding to those in Caleb's head is counter productive, imo. It's only natural to keep the head coach's thoughts front of mind.

This *one* is different and ya'll know it. Also, I think it was "Moose Droppings" Muhsin Muhammad who said "Chicago is where WR's go to die."

Much, much better.

By definition OBF is not correct.  You are a strong Bears fan – so by definition you can’t be “objective”.  Nothing wrong with being a Bears fan BTW.  But the fact there are 187 of you “Objective Bears Fans” lurking about should be disconcerting for the league as a whole.  BTW, I like Chicago Style Pizza.  I also know it’s your team’s strategy to reduce the Packer Fan Base by getting us to eat to much of it.  So, I only get mine when I visit Chicago for my once-a-year visit.  See a previous post of mine in this thread to read about that.

Ya'll watching Hard Knocks?

Yes. At SOME POINT the Bears are probably going to win a game vs. Green Bay in my lifetime. Meanwhile, my yearly bet with my Bear fan friend has swept for 5 straight years.

I used to manage Edwardo's pizza in downtown Milwaukee maybe 20 years ago. Offshoot of Pizzaria Uno I think. 20-22 minutes to cook one of those monsters. We had a location on the North end of Summerfest. Now that was volume! Only sold frozen regular crusts there.
