The talent is irrefutable. The question is, given his history, who wants to make him uber-rich and then hope he grows up?Looks like the Suckqueens do.
But Wilkerson is known for his work ethic, right?
Because he’s a packer now, right?
Packer people. Am I right?
So reply with quote where I said Wilkerson was great now that he is a Packer. Show me where I said he has a great work ethic. Show me where I called him Packer people. Just show me!!!!

No.
The Bears didn't want to commit to Fuller beyond this year. He played extremely well last season and they thought they'd get a "prove it" one year deal with him before committing to him.
Instead, likely Gute threw a long term deal as a counter offer, the ability to play with a HOFer in Rodgers vs Mitchy, and geographically it's not a big move to head to WI vs Ill.
Fuller turned down an offer sheet another team put together. You have to think the Packers made this a fairly sweet deal that the Bores will have to either grudgingly sign or not match.
YATittle posted:Fuller has dealt with injuries in the past, but he came on strong last season, finishing as the league's 36th-ranked cornerback, per Pro Football Focus, while shining in one-on-one matchups down the stretch.
With Prince Amukamara hitting the open market, Chicago remains a candidate to add additional help at corner both in free agency and the draft. Getting their 2014 first-rounder back goes a long way to shoring up this developing secondary.
Had to look this up but Prince did just re-sign with Bears, so if they don't like tender contract they may let Fuller go.
If so, Kyle Fuller (6'0, 190 age 26) would be a good B-day present for me.
Also: once we get a vet starter there will be other CB cuts after draft to add for depth...
Well enough speculation:
The #Bears are matching the #Packers’ offer sheet for CB Kyle Fuller, sources said. Fuller stays. It’s a 4-year deal worth $56M. The key number is $18M guaranteed. Fuller already had $13M guaranteed from the translation tag. For $5M more guaranteed, they get him long-term

I also hope we see better balance with the running game.
Agreed completely.
I think how a player performs, be it a tight end, receiver, or a guy out of the backfield, and how they get open, should dictate the number of targets they get. #12 is pretty good at seeing the field, and I trust him to throw the ball where it gives the offense the best chance to score. Artificially increasing targets to any one player is just a bad idea. You've got one of the smartest guys to ever play the game running the offense. Call the plays, and let Rodgers decide where the ball should go.

Swing and a miss. I still believe a quality starting CB is out there for the Packers this year. Just not a soon as we would like.
I really dont think we have enough money to compete in this signing frenzy that is going on right now. Its a bad time to not have as much cap money as needed. I thought TT was supposed to be good at that. He leaves the front office and his replacement does not have the money to keep up with all the nutty signings going on right now.
It may be time for Pipkins, Brown, Waters and King to step up.
YooperPackfan posted:Well I hope Gutekunst learned from this because it was total idiotness on his part
How so? If the Bears don't match, the Packers obtain a top CB on the market, and they don't have to give the Bears a single pick, because Fuller was transition tagged.
If they do match, the Packers force them to commit to a long term deal where they had been unwilling to do so before. That eats up a large chunk of the Bears' available salary cap space.
I would hardly call it an idiotic move. In fact, I've read multiple articles from sportswriters calling the move brilliant by our GM.
Packers play Bears perfectly in game of tag with CB Kyle Fuller
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- In more than one way, the Green Bay Packers' decision to sign cornerback Kyle Fuller to an offer sheet on Friday was a brilliant move by first-year general manager Brian Gutekunst.
It’s a no-lose situation for the Packers -- even if they don’t land Fuller.

Who cares about their cap number for 2018. They had $60 million available. It's the cap number in 2020 and beyond that matters. Great move by Gute.

Could not disagree more. Broncos are a mess. They have no starting caliber RT, RG or TE. They have no #3 WR. RBs are bottom of the league. And on defense, they are down Talib, Ware, Trevathan, M Jackson, and Ward from their 2015 Super Bowl defense with all replacements being average, at best. They finished 5-11 with multiple blowouts. Elways draft record the last 4 years is horrendous.
Hate to admit it, but Vikings are much closer to a Super Bowl caliber roster than the Broncos.
Ok following your point. Vikes didn’t want Keenum. If they did they would have signed him before FA. So he’s linked to Denver right off the bat. So Cousins is left with Queenies (contender), Cards (rebuilding new coach), Jets (mess) So the Vikes desperate to win a title overpay a ridiculous contract while the lure of playing for a legit Super Bowl contender should have been enough to come in a more “reasonable” number.
Oh I don't disagree with this premise. Vikings signed Cousins to a ridiculous contract. But completely disagree that the Broncos were closer to a title than the Vikings. Broncos were 5-11 with a -93 point differential (27th in the NFL). Broncos suck.

Stop being so near-sighted. I think Gutie did great here. Something TT should've done more of .
Overall, I find it surprising that the Packers are up against the cap as much as they are. Since the cap era started, they have been as good, if not better, than any other teams in the league at managing it, and I don't remember any scuttlebutt that this year was going to be particularly bad.
Since we had so many key players reaching the last year of their contracts, I thought restructuring/extensions would be the order of the day for the guys they want to keep. Perhaps they are going to wait until Aaron's new deal is done, but they've guaranteed a bunch of salary in the meantime.
Richardson said he chose the Vikings because “I wanted the best opportunity to win a Super Bowl and I feel this is it.”
