He was let go for failing a physical. From what I've read, there may be more cap money saved with Turner, due to him failing that physical, too.
@Floridarob posted:Jenkins will probably be RT. Yosh is probably backup.
I think Yosh will be Bakh's back up at LT. I think they will leave Jenkins at LG, when he gets back from injury. Runyan will back up Jenkins at LG. Newman at RG. I think Kelly comes back at RT with a new draftee or a practice squad guy(Cole Van Lanen) as back up.
It appears the Packers are keeping kicker Mason Crosby. At this point, there's no change in his status or his contract, a source said. He's scheduled to make $3.4 million with a cap charge of $4.735M.

The #Packers are tendering restricted free agent WR Allen Lazard at the second-round level, source says. That comes with a one-year salary offer of just under $4 million.

Oren Burks to the 49ers per his own twitter. Dude just never panned out on the defense.
49ers signing Oren Burks to a two-year, $5 million contract, per a league source:

Seems like a lot of money given his (very limited) production, but best of luck to him.

WOW! This guy isn't worth signing to the practice squad. That's crazy

Opinions are like assholes.
@MichiganPacker posted:If Adams and Rodgers are both coming back as well, we should just assume the bill for all this will come due in 2024 or so and we should expect a 3-14 type season when they have to reset and carry about 75 million in dead cap charges for this all-in scenario?
Pretty much yeah. It's the same approach the Saints took at the end with Brees and they're cap is a mess right now. My hope though is Gute just deals with the cap issues that first year without Rodgers and doesn't pretend they can make it work. Wipe away those dead cap charges in one year, get a good draft pick, then move on and rebuild. Saints almost tried to hang on a bit this last year and the cap issues are still with them.

Leave Henry out of this.
But you were right. A RT is worth more than a LG. All you gotta do is look at salaries. The top RT's in the NFL make about $3 million more per year than the top guards.
Here's a thought. Leave Jenkins at LG until his rookie deal is done. Sign him to a new contract as a guard then move him to RT unless Yosh or someone else is already a star there.
Mean! I really miss Henry.

It's that third contract for most players (or the second for RBs) that teams usually end up regretting. The wear and tear adds up and the injuries hit harder and take longer to recover from.
Over the last 25 years, you look at contracts of guys that left like Bulaga, Marco Rivera, and Greg Jennings or the guys that stay like Jordy Nelson, Dorsey Levens, Ahman Green, and Bakhtiari, and the risk is very high for missed seasons. Even the guys were it works out have to really struggle to stay on the field (Chad Clifton, for example).
My fear is Davante Adams is going to be another one of these types of contracts. Big money deals for guys going into their 30s only are good risks for QBs, superstar LTs, pass rushing specialists - and even then you often get burned.
If the random bits of info are true floating around the innerwebs, and the Packers offered 23M a season, and he wants 30M, my guess is they find a trade partner. Absolute best case I see the Packers coming up to 25M, NFW they get to 30M...just not buying it.
I love Tae as a player and a person...but read the room...your QB makes $50M. DeAndre Hopkins plays with a QB still on his rookie contract. Julio Jones plays with Tannehill who makes 38M. Chargers may be a better for your salary demands given they've got $23M in cap space after doing their recent round of moves.
I'd trade him to Las Vegas. They'll pay him.
The bottom line is that if Aaron Rodgers goes down with a season-ending injury the Packers chances of winning a Super Bowl are close to zero.
If Davante Adams goes down with a season-ending injury, the Packers chances of winning a title probably go down 10 or 20%. There are probably at least four guys that are more important than him to their chances: Rodgers, Bakhtiari, Clark, and R. Gary. If not for the depth at those positions, Jones/Dillon or Alexander/Stokes would also be up there.
Even 23 million a year is a questionable investment for a guy they are 7-0 without during the MLF era. They've averaged almost 32 points a game in the Adams has not played.
OMGAWD, donβt even say season ending injury....... Iβm hoping no one gets injured, especially #12 or the Big D or any player.
@MichiganPacker posted:If Davante Adams goes down with a season-ending injury, the Packers chances of winning a title probably go down 10 or 20%.
Their chances go up because 12 starts spreading the ball around.
Essentially, it is a two-year extension worth $124 million. With No. 12 still having one year left on his old deal and with the Packers and Rodgers agreeing to have two void years at the end of the contract, the complete deal could amount to five years worth $186 million.
Damn. Guy left it all out on the field.
@RapSheet: Source: The #Bears agreed to terms with former #Packers interior OL Lucas Patrick.
2 years, $8M with $4M fully guaranteed in year 1.
The Luke Getsy effect. Liked him as a player more than probably most fans did but you can't keep them all.
No more Prince of Darkness.
With Runyan , Newman , and Jenkins there is no way we were going to pay Patrick to stay.
@bvan posted:Hmmm, who's rank #2?
Doesnβt really matter. Will still take them 746 years posting 212 times per day to catch him.
Marcedes Lewis and Cobb would make the most sense, but King Aaron may overrule this:
According to Over the Cap, the Packers are still $7,022,071 over. Need to trim that by 3 p.m. CT today. More move(s) coming.
