Start spreading the news ...
Oops, wrong signing, never mind.
Love resigning Davis. Now someone might throw to him.
And fuck off iowacheese.
Jamaal Williams signs with the Saints. What were the Lions thinking?

TE now off GB's draft board.

I like his quote. âMy job is to be invisible,â he told The Los Angeles Times in a phone interview. âMy job is not to be noticed.â
Not overly enthused about our new DB coach going into 2023.
Veteran player/coach Jerry Gray left for another gig elsewhere and MLF promoted last years' Safety coach Ryan Downard into the role.
He seems just a little too MLFy for a DB coach I would prefer a DB coach with some serious chops - there is so much talent to work with in GB.
(MLF did bring in a new def. passing game coordinator, Greg Williams)

The Green Bay Packers promoted Ryan Downard to defensive backs coach on March 10, 2023.
2022 Bio: Entering his seventh season in the NFL, Ryan Downard began his fifth season with the Packers and his first as the team's safeties coach after spending three seasons (2019-21) as assistant defensive backs coach.
Downard originally joined the club in Jan. 2018, as a defensive quality control coach. His first NFL experience came in 2014-15 when he served as a defensive assistant with the Cleveland Browns

So far it's nice to see the front office not lose focus on special teams with the return of coach Bisaccia, Nixon, Davis, and bringing in competition at long snapper.
Tonyan to the Bears- is that true? I really hoped they would keep him. Davis and Degaura are not NFL level players and this FO has shown an inability to find talent at the TE position.
@ByRyanWood: Can confirm Robert Tonyan is signing a 1-year contract with the Bears, as @AdamSchefter reported. #Packers are gonna be all in on tight ends in this draft.
Looks like a âprove itâ contract. Obviously not much of a market for him.
B***s still suck

...likely better than Tyler Davis.
I suppose it's possible they make a bit of a splash in free agency. Dalton Schultz, Mike Gesicki, Austin Hooper, Jordan Akins, MyCole Pruitt and Foster Moreau are out there. Schultz and Gesicki would likely demand a $10m+ average, but the other guys could be had for much less.

Looks like Tonyan doesn't think Love is a better QB than Rodgers. Maybe the Bears have a trade worked out with the Jets.
Fields for AR ?
Oh my, so how we gonna handle da bears owning the Pack??? ok, ok, just a stupid thought, NEVER GONNA HAPPENâĶâĶright?? ðĩâðŦ
Smokem' if ya gotem'.
TE room not as empty as you think once AR comes back
Theyâre bringing back Craig Nall?
Maybe we can kick the tires on Tebow. Wasn't Miami trying to project him to TE after Denver decided one playoff win wasn't good enough?
Hopefully Tonya leaving will force Gutey to upgrade the position finally. Love could do a lot worse than having Jones, a promising young TE, Watson, Doubs, and a new second round WR. Hopefully Toure is practicing somewhere out there.

Take Gesicki off the list. Signed with Pats for 1 year $9 million. J F C.
I really hope they're not counting on the draft to fill out the TE room. They need at least one decent vet there.
Michael Mayer from ND should be a top draft priority
The Packers have restructured the contract of CB Rasul Douglas, creating another $3.3M in 2023 cap space.

That seems like a great price to get Gesiki for

Why do you hate black Irish punters?
Myers and Runyan will be cashing some nice fat Performance Bonus checks from the NFL. And they don't count vs the cap

Runyan, a sixth-round pick in 2020, earned an extra $790,159, while Myers, a second-rounder in 2021, earned $638,041

Mike Wahle thinks Gesicki is one of the least physical of this years FA TE's.
He preferred Parris Campbell (2.5M+), Hayden Hurst (7M), Austin Hooper (7M) and Dalton Schultz (15M/pipedream) for the Packers.
Edit: Doh, Parris Campbell is a WR, not TE.

I can see the Packers going big for a TE in this draft and letting him develop.
There aren't any big UFA's we would lose in '24 besides Dillon and Gary. Gary will be resigned. Nobody expects the Packers to make the playoffs this year. It does kind of make sense to get a good draft in, get younger, and start pushing for a playoff in '24 when the younger group has another year under their belts.
