What's really amazing was all the talk about which GM had the leverage and how the Packers got fleeced. When Joe Douglas gets fired I'd like to strike those conversations up again with the naysayers.

We all wanted that #1 pick in 2024 but when we still get a #2 pick and the Jets got nothing for it, it's not a bad consolation prize. That's really more one-sided in the Packers favor than the Jets making the playoffs and the Packers getting a #1. The Packers give up 15-20 positions in the 2024 draft and the Jets get nothing.

Not to mention getting his horrific contract off the books.....

After the 2024 offseason the trade could really swing into the Packers favor with extra draft capital and cap space, two things the Jets won't have.

We really need to archive this whole thread once it's run its course.

I don't understand why it has not run it's course.  Rodgers ain't a Packer anymore. He ain't coming back this season.  I'm not sure he will ever come back.  If Johnson cleans house at the end of the season ol #8 might just take his $38 million and ride off into the sunset.  And that would be the best for the Jets and for the NFLFU.

“I don’t think he can touch Saleh or Hackett. Maybe he brings someone in to replace [Douglas] and tells them they can hire their own [coach] a year from now. You can get a GM now by doing that. But those coaches, you’re stuck with them for next year.”

See? Douglas clearly won the trade.

It's not off the books.

What turned out to be a 2nd round pick and, was it to spots up in the 1rst, is not good compensation for a QB 1 year removed from back to back MVP's.   All you have to do is look at recent history for what other franchises received and it's clear, the Packers didn't get enough.

The fact that Rodgers got hurt doesn't change this.

On March 8, 2022, the Seahawks sent Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos for multiple first-round picks, several other draft selections and a trio of players which included Drew Locke, Noah Fant and Shelby Harris

The fact that Rodgers had a QBR of 39 in 2022, which is about half of what his MVP seasons were, means he was more than just one year removed from being an MVP. He was an 8-9 QB when the Packers unloaded his franchise killing contract.

The Packers could have done the same thing before the 2022 season. After the 2022 season, no chance. Other than the Jets who wanted him. The Raiders were at one time an option and they went with Jimmy G.

Using the Brainded mentality, the fact that Jimmy G. got hurt doesn't change this.

Russ was also 5 years younger.  Equation is a bit different when trading for a 33 year old QB vs. a 39 year old QB.  Broncos expected 6-8 years of Russ, including 3-4 years of his prime.  Jets could only expect 2 years, with none being in his prime.  There was a reason that the Seahawks got what they got.

If AR comes back next season and wins a SB for the Jets, everybody will say the Packers got fleeced for only getting a 2nd round pic.

As it stands, the Jets took on a 39 year old qb coming off a down year who is known for being a diva, and they also wasted several roster spots on the diva’s friends, as well as hiring the worst OC in the league…..all for four useless plays this season.

They’re also stuck with whatever his highness decides to do next season which means they can’t fire the OC, head coach or GM without risking pissing off their MVP QB…..who can’t even get on the field.

If this is how it ends, I don’t think there will be many Jets fans claiming  they got a good deal on the trade.

The injury does matter.

With a broken bone.   What genius gave him the franchise killing contract?

Can't have it both ways, kid.

Murphy gave him the contract and if he was that injured he wouldn't have been out there.

Can't have it both ways? Who said this, "The fact that Rodgers got hurt doesn't change this."

Rodgers said that his thumb has been in various levels of pain the past few weeks, particularly in the game against Dallas game. He still threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns that day.

Nevertheless, he doesn't see his thumb as a reason for his recent troubles — such as missing a few key passes in Green Bay's loss to the Titans.

"There's one in every 100 that doesn't come off the right way," Rodgers said.

Fair counter point.   You're still Love drunk though.

Not at all, I just think he's got everything to be the Packers QB of the future. You're dwelling on idiotic plays like the final pass in the DET game in an effort to degrade Love. That's a throwaway in a 15 point game. If anything the complaint should have been the play selection, passing instead of running the clock.

As far as being drunk on a player, that's you with Rodgers. He's probably the only reason you became a Packer fan.

I think it’s great the Jets are sucking after all the bullshit we heard from Rodgers and Saleh and the media experts coming into the year.  High hopes got dashed 4 plays into their first game.

They hitched their wagon to the guy, for better or worse.

I just don't care about AR any longer.  At all.  I don't mean that in a bad way either.  I love what he did for the Packers and recognize his overall excellence in league history.  Admittedly, I was looking forward to seeing how he would do in NY this season....  Not as a fan, but simply out of curiosity.   Again though, I just don't care about the on-goings of what's taking place in NY.  Not my fucking problem.

I'd say it's the opposite of a problem. I never liked the Jets after they enabled Favre to get to MN. What's happening to their roster is what was happening to the Packers roster. The difference was in GB these guys were already on the roster and Rodgers held them in so it didn't look as blatant. In NY he brought them in and really played GM, even his own OC. And the beauty of it is they can't get rid of anybody because of Rodgers. They had undrafted FAs playing WR last week while Lazard and Cobb were healthy scratches.

That’s a lot of keystrokes to say you don’t care

The Browns are the undisputed masters of being the "Factory of Sadness".
However, their horrible decisions have them at 7-4 and in the playoff race.

The Jets horrible decisions have them at 4-7 and little hope of reaching the playoffs.
Tsk.

It's amazing the stranglehold Rodgers has on the Jets. How would you like to be putting your hopes on a 40 year old QB coming back from a major injury? And I assume he has also destroyed their cap for next year so veteran offensive linemen could be difficult to acquire. Joe Douglas in 6 years, no winning seasons and a dismal outlook to the future.
