Lather. Rinse. Repeat.  Black Monday is just laundry day in the NFL. Fans love the tough talk of the new coach... until he loses, then they fire him and fall in love with the next savior until he falls out of favor. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Heard this one before.

@Edwerderespn: New #Redskins GM Scot McCloughan told by Dan Snyder that owner is embarrassed and just wants to win, that he and Bruce Allen won't interfere.

Full autonomy of football decisions for McCloughan in D.C.?!?!?

If true, it's a step in the right direction for the 'Skins.

Now, if Scot can lay off the sauce.....that's a WHOLE nuther story

More lol.

Tells me in part that they can't get any preferred coach because they don't want to report to the hipster doofus.

@RapSheet: Big changes in Atlanta. #Falcons restructure front office, with Scott Pioli taking over pro and college scouting. Thomas Dimitroff does cap.

@JasonLaCanfora: Falcons have restructured the front office, but I'm told Thomas Dimitroff retains control of the 53-man roster and the draft ...

@JasonLaCanfora: Scott Pioli gets a new title and is more intimately involved with personnel, but final say is with Dimitroff ...

@RapSheet: For #Falcons, Scott Pioli will report to Thomas Dimitroff. Meanwhile, the new coach will report to owner Arthur Blank.

SK moving the Rams to LA - the way it looks anyway.

Power struggles on other teams.

Coaches hired and fired on a owners whim.

If the Packers had to put up with the stuff some other teams did I think I would have to take myself out back and shoot myself - figuratively speaking.

It can never be said enough, thank you Bob Harlan. Ended the decades of well-intentioned clown shows and put in place a system of understated class and professionalism which, God willing, will remain the standard in professional sports.

Factory of Sadness

@alexmarvez: Sources tell @NFLonFOX that @Browns OC Kyle Shanahan asked for and was granted his release. QBs coach Dowell Loggains was fired.

@RapSheet: On the day the #Browns part ways with OC Kyle Shanahan, he will interview for the #Bills head coaching job.

Just posted by a Steeler beat writer. Holy crap!

@gerrydulac: Dick LeBeau out as defensive coordinator. Says he and #Steelers have agreed to mutually part ways: "Time to go in a different direction."

EDIT: More here.

PITTSBURGH - Calling it a “mutual parting,” Pro Football Hall of Famer Dick LeBeau told the Urbana Daily Citizen on Saturday that he is resigning as defensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I’m resigning this position, not retiring,” LeBeau, 77, said in an exclusive interview with the Daily Citizen. “I had a great run in Pittsburgh. I’m grateful for all the things that have happened to me and thankful for all the support I had in Pittsburgh.”

very interesting...  did LaBeau get sick of the players they were giving him, or Tomlin, or did Tomlin want him gone?  I don't pay much attention to Pittsburgh but it didn't strike me that Dick was the problem.  gutting the D and then bringing back the folks you let go was strange.

I'm glad he's not retiring but hope like hell he doesn't show up in the NFCN.

@AdamSchefter: Filed to ESPN: Bills putting finishing touches on deal that will make Rex Ryan their next HC, per sources. More on Sunday NFL Countdown.

@AdamSchefter: Just a couple more I's to dot and T's to cross, but Rex Ryan now expected to be the next Buffalo Bills HC. First domino falls!

@RapSheet: The #Bills are expected to make Rex Ryan their new coach, per sources. They’ve offered, he’s planning on accepting.

Rex and that defense could be awesome. There are three phases to the game, however.

Another coach recycle.  He sucked for the Jets the last four seasons but he's the savior for the Bills.  I don't get it.  Why not hire a younger guy who has been a good assistant coach, like MM?

I think the Ryan hire is a good one. That guy did pretty well for the most part in New York with horrible QBs. What he really needs to do is find a good experienced OC and give that guy the complete reins. He's got a nice nucleus in Buffalo, I think he will do well.

Now that the Cowboys season is over does this mean Garrett is a free agent? Can he sign with whatever team he wants at any time or does his contract end at a certain date?  It would be too funny if one of the teams needing a coach out bid Jerrah for him.
