I actually think Rodgers has gotten too comfortable and isn’t playing with that edge or attitude and fire that he’s demonstrated in the past.

I mean, it’s tough to blame the guy as he has accomplished just about everything possible but the fact of the matter is no one is pushing him (competition) and outside of football he has a lot going on whether it’s the Bucks or Danika or his 28MM home in Malibu.

The absolute best thing the Packers could do is select a QB high in the draft to light a fire under his ass.   No one (outside of maybe Brady or Peyton Manning) can outsmart a defense like 12 and physically he still looks decent but lack of competition for his job (real or perceived) is a problem.

Those are some rose-colored glasses my friend.

Fair.  Who'd you take over him?

I'd take Mahomes, Jackson, Watson, Wilson off the top of my head.

To win one game?  Brees, Wilson?

So my math is a little off.

13 is a bad ass.  Clutch.  He's not beefing up to become a TE.  He is what he is, and will most likely only improve.  Until he doesn't.

He was there in the preseason.  He's been there during the regular season.  He'll be there going forward.

That he got cut blows my mind.

It could be that for the first time in his playing career, Rodgers is second-guessing himself. Over-throws, off-targets, holding the ball, bad body language... it seems to speak to a guy who isn’t confident in what he sees and/or his ability to get it there. Two INTs in two games? When did we last see that? Every guy playing into 35+ has to make changes to their play to play more with his head than his once-great physical ability. It seems Rodgers’ mind has not yet grasped that his physical ability is not at its peak any more. He looks so surprised when a throw is off, then mad, and then like “what the h***?” It’s not that it’s totally gone, but the consistency is. It would not surprise me to see Rodgers play better next year after he has a chance to reflect on the year and his play and make adjustments, especially to his mindset. Those guys open 5-10-15 yards away may become a lot more attractive than the guy 30 yards downfield. Of course, I hope he does that this week and comes out in two weeks on fire!

Rodger's exceptional pass to Cook late in the Cowboy playoff game was a ~30 yard rope on the run within an inch of perfect placement.

Now, I am seeing him sometimes off by a foot and a half on 5 yard passes.

He was doing this last year. It is what happens when a QB is past his prime.

Today with 28 incompletions was the most by any QB this season.

And 16 of those were overthrows. Those 16 are the highest since they began counting that stat in 2006; Josh Freeman is the other guy who did it.

I hope that the regular-season team success does not lull the powers-that-be into not drafting his successor.

Supposedly the long ball was the game plan. I think he was a bit rusty with them because of the new offense and newish receivers. If he was going to miss them it’s better that he overthrew them and avoided an interception on those by doing so. The on target ball was intercepted. I hope he gets some practice time in during the bye.

Seems like basic mechanics from my standpoint. He's throwing off his heels, throwing with his feet together, throwing while moving backwards or sideways. It's all wrist and shoulders. No follow through or squaring up to his target. He's gotten lazy and is just slinging it.

I'd rather have Mahomes or Lamar Jackson. That's it, that's the list.

First play of the game. Graham drops that ball. Seriously, Eff him, He can get cut right now & the Packers don't miss anything. I think that simple drop by Graham could've created an avalanche effect for the entire team & even worse on Rodgers. Should it happen? Hell no, of course not, but when receivers aren't catching the ball I believe Rodgers tenses up thinking he needs to make a play.

Rodgers simply needs to calm the eff down & continue taking the underneath stuff. That will open up the deep stuff & they are so close. Like really really close to curb stomping a team.

Maybe it will happen in the playoffs, maybe not. Maybe they'll get destroyed by the Saints in Lambeau. No matter what happens this has been an incredible season & every win from here on out is pure gravy. We really need to look at it like that. Let the players tell us "there's no moral victories" -- This season has been so much fun. Like 1989 fun. For those of you old enough to remember 1989. I haven't had this much fun during a season since 1989. Not 2010, Not 1996. I expected to win those years. This year is like 1989 only this time, they didn't need the Vikings to lose to the Bengals to get into the playoffs & at THAT time, no 10-6 team had ever missed the playoffs, until 1989....I digress.

You earned the week off, Packers. Enjoy it & please come out in the divisional round & don't embarrass yourselves. That is all.

Oh, I saw him last year as well, but most folks blamed it on the WRs (again), the staleness of MM’s offense, etc. But what’s different this year is that it’s much more consistent and his throws and reads are consistently worse than last year. Rodgers said earlier this year that he had to be more of a game manager. His head knows that, but his heart (ego?) doesn’t yet believe it. If that happens, he will lead this team a long way...

Detroit gave this game away with little fight and Rodgers wasn’t having any of it. Rodgers is kind of a mess right now. And GB needs to figure out where his head is.

I concur

Any other week, I'd agree. But one JG drop doesn't account for 16 bad overthrows. And if it does, then the issue is AR's head. How is it that so often this year when they're in a hole, and Rodgers starts matriculating down the field, they find success? Short, high pct throws in rhythm creates tempo. It was only after he started taking what was given that his longer throws yielded results. WRs had steps on guys consistently all day and 12 missed them. He hurt his own team today by insisting on kill shot after kill shot. And they will get buried if the defense isn't able to keep things close in the playoffs. It's been a magical year, no doubt. But that doesn't mean Rodgers shouldn't face scrutiny for abysmal play.

Stop with the drafting a QB high.

You don't know the first fucking thing about this roster. Neither do I.

Just stop it already.

A lot of Super Bowls have been won by teams with complete rosters and above average Quarterback play. I concede that Rodgers is not playing up to his standard, but he still has the skills (notice that he still somehow manages to come up with the throw when it is absolutely necessary).

i think the Packers need to continue to develop the roster with early round draft choices next year and trust that they will continue to get adequate play from Rodgers. If the roster requires constant elite level QB play next year, they aren’t winning the SuperBowl with Rodgers or a late first round rookie QB.

*note, these were my exact sentiments when the Packers picked Rodgers. But, I am still sticking with that opinion.

For whatever reason AR is off the mark. You could see after several over-throws he comes back and under throws Kumerow, trying to find it.  I’m not ready to say he’s done, but if the Packers aren’t beginning to look for a potential replacement for the future, it would be  dumb. Personally, I think he will get it all going again. Let’s hope it’s soon.

Not even close to saying Mariota would be the future of the franchise; but signing him in the offseason would be an major improvement at backup QB and send AR a message they are hedging against his sucky play.

How do you know he isn't already getting pushed?  What if he is, and we don't see it?  Why waste a high draft pick on a position they may already view as covered (or may be filled by FA)?

No way, IMHO.
