As for your shootout comment, the NYG have 3 games of 27 pts and 1 game of 28 pts. They score in the teens, a lot - they have games of 16, 10, 16, 17, 14, 10, 17, 19, & 19.

The one piece missing lately is the safety blitz /corner cat. And those have dropped off due to all the injuries at CB, so the Safeties have to stay deep and baby sit.
Stated another way, there are 25 other NFL teams that wish they could rush the passer as well as the 2016 Packers.
Added bonus is that Marshall Newhouse will be at RT on Sunday evening

I think this is spot on. I think GB matches up really well against the Giants. Same way the Giants match up well against Dallas.

I'm watching the Packers v Giants game on 10/09. Eli was terrible when we got pressure on him. Big key to the game obviously
Hope Elliott is back. Like him on the blitz a lot more than Jake Ryan.

Do I want a pass rush? Of course I do! We all do! Will it actually happen? I sure hope so. And will it happen this game? I don't know. But we can create good pressure and should do that if we expect to win. Often pressure is almost a effective as a sack. I know we can do that.
I don't mind the offense carrying the game for us. Rodgers is Hot right now and our defense is just ok considering what and whom we have to play with.
Sack numbers don't tell the whole story. What's really important is whether or not you're getting consistent pressure on the Q. Press the pocket, disrupt his timing, clog the lanes, etc. Should be a fun game.

Left tackle Ereck Flowers is graded by Pro Football Focus as the No. 59 tackle. I know the suspect nature of which PFF is viewed, but whatever the metric, our OLB's should be licking their chops
BTW, both PackerPatrick and DH3 posted the same message - not about the sacks, its about pressure- putting fear in Eli Mae so he does something stupid. Like Favre stupid.

Bingo. Amongst Packers/Giants playoff matchups in the past, the team that had Marshall Newhouse has never won a game (Of course it was only 1 game, but you get my point.

In the 2007 and 2011 playoff matchups, the Giants did win the battle of the trenches in both games. I don't know that they can do that this time with an O-Line as shaky as what they have today. I don't necessarily expect the Pack to dominate the trenches, but I think it's a more even battle than those other 2 games were.
Low scoring-High scoring, I don't care. Just as long as we are at least one point higher when time expires.
My expectations are that the Giants will be able to gash our secondary some. The goal is to simply limit them scorewise. How to pull it off is the question. I agree with most posters that on paper they don't look all that scary on the offensive line yet they do have a great receiving corps. Our secondary scares no one. So I think it is up to the "bigs" to limit the run and pressure Manning. I don't like the idea of lots of blitzes that leave us a man or two short in coverage.

I just rewatched the first half of that game. The only thing hindering Rodgers was Rodgers. He was still showing some of that inaccuracy and not finding the open guy at that point in the season. He threw 2 picks, 1 bounced right off Jordy's mits, the other was a poor decision. The OL gave him loads of time to throw. He missed some really easy short dump off throws too. I really didn't see their D doing much of anything to stop him.
Others: Boy I miss Lacy. Regardless of Monty and Rip's emergence this team still needs a guy like Lacy. He did some big things in the first half. Jordy still shaking off rust, dropped 3 balls that would have been big plays. Cobb was having a nice game, D was getting pressure on Eli.
I still have to watch 2nd half but if that was AR's "worst game of the season", then the rest of the NFL needs to worry. I don't think the guy even watched the game, just looked at the stats.

I admit to not following the Giants much this year but isn't one of they biggest problems been the OL? I mean they have Marshall freaking Newhouse starting for them. I also agree that generating a pass rush is probably THE key to this game. You don't have to sack Manning but get pressure on him and make him uncomfortable in the pocket. One thing that Eli will do is press and force the ball at times and if you have a pass rush on him that could be what happens.
in a big fwiw, a guy on Biil Michel's radio show, didn't catch his name, doesn't think Pennel will be back until next week, assuming a GBP win.
Second half: Jordy drops another, RR drops a beautiful sideline TD throw. AR cleaned up his accuracy so his incompletions resulted from tight coverage by their DB's.
All in all I don't know what "bob Holtzman" was seeing. GB controlled that game pretty much whistle to whistle. Cobb looked like the best WR out there in that game. Once Lacy went out with the injury, the offense downshifted a bit and the play action wasn't as effective. The most encouraging thing I saw was our D handling their WR's, even without Shields or Randall. The only thing we will be missing this time around is Rollins. So I'm optimistic we can at least limit their passing game. Their run game was pretty bad in WK05 and is better now so that could be an issue. Another encouraging thing is we had consistent pressure on Eli and he made a lot of bad throws and had bad ball security because of it.
Both teams are in different places now vs WK05 so who has improved the most? Our D may not be as stout because of injuries but the offense is cruising. Their D is playing better and maybe they found a run game? All those seem to even out and I would predict a similar outcome. But it is the playoffs...
This is a huge game for Perry. He has a chance to make a lot of money from here on out.

I suspect zone between the 20's while hoping for a break and then man w/ pressure in the redzone. Limit the big gainers, the proverbial bend but don't break.
#Packers CB Quinten Rollins officially ruled out because of a concussion. WR Randall Cobb (ankle), CB Damarious Randall (knee) questionable.
Randall was biggest WR in WK05. Can't expect he'll be 100% with that ankle.
Sounded like he was ready to go last week, but since they were in when WAS lost he was kept inactive.
Cobb is a matchup nightmare for NY. Question is. Is GERONIMO!!!! capable of being that same matchup nightmare?
I don't know why but I'm not worried. The Packers are the scrappy team this offseason. I don't care what MM and Rodgers say, the press and fan talk got to them. Glad they're pissed.
Agreed. The more I think about it, the more I grow confident that we'll get the W. We've got Rodgers healthy and playing some of his best ball EVER, and we're playing at Lambeau. On the other side, the Giants have a stout defense, but Eli & Co. have been sub-par all season. This talk of Manning being able to simply flip a switch in the postseason is garbage. He's 36 and he's been struggling. While I expect them to put up some points against our banged up secondary, in the end, I don't think they'll be able to keep up with our offense.
