I have been disappointed with our pass rush. Some of that is due to other teams beating it with quick throws, screens, delays and the cushion we give their receivers in zone coverage. Also we have Clay, Perry and Elliot playing hurt or not at all. We try to blitz and it gets picked up. Instead we need our front d-line to get constant pressure with the occasional LB or D-back blitzing. We need a big day from the big men, with others doing their jobs well. Push the pocket where Eli lives. I have seen too many blitzes not get home and a big play happens against us. I agree that pressure on Eli is a key. But that's easier said than done with the weapons we currently have.
I am ok winning a shootout too.
Regarding your disappointment with the pass rush, I post the below from Satori, 2 days ago in this thread.
As for your shootout comment, the NYG have 3 games of 27 pts and 1 game of 28 pts. They score in the teens, a lot - they have games of 16, 10, 16, 17, 14, 10, 17, 19, & 19.
The Packers have avg'd over 30 ppg over their 6 game Run the tableโข
The Mighty Green Bay Packers are tied for 6th in the NFL in sacks and sack percentage. Its been a real mix of guys so far, 12 different Packer defenders have recorded a sack this year, including rookie 5-tech, Dean Lowry
The one piece missing lately is the safety blitz /corner cat. And those have dropped off due to all the injuries at CB, so the Safeties have to stay deep and baby sit.
Stated another way, there are 25 other NFL teams that wish they could rush the passer as well as the 2016 Packers.
Added bonus is that Marshall Newhouse will be at RT on Sunday evening
