Cobb is as good as Jennings right now and is still only as old as Jennings was when he entered the league.

Their first two years look awfully alike stat-wise based solely on Rec/yds but Cobb runs the ball and returns. He's even thrown passes.

If anyone had a choice between taking a 3rd year Jennings or a 3rd year Cobb it would be a landslide - Randall Cobb.

Listening to 'The Herd' this morning. Colin talked about this issue for a while and he seemed to buy into it.

He talked about how Rodgers would "glare" at his offensive linemen after getting sacked and look at his receivers after they drop a pass and how you "never see Manning or Brady do that" ....

Maybe it's just me, but I've watched every single game from last year at least 3 times on NFL rewind and I saw him do that maybe three or four times all year.

IDK where all the Rodgers hate is coming from all the sudden but I really hope it keeps coming, Rodgers plays quite well with a chip on his shoulder.

I wonder what Colin is like when one of his minions hands him bad info that he reads on the air. I'm sure he handles that with class.

Colin is little more than the continuing evolution of "debate instigator" from Bristol. He's good at what he does.

Fair and balanced... The one display of "WTF was that?" from AR that I could have done without was when he lost control of his senses when MM threw the challenge flag in Detroit when he shouldn't have. That wasn't easy to watch.

Exactly chillijon--I had the same reaction in Detroit. What I've seen more often is the reaction he had when an injured Nelson s couldn't pull down a perfect pass in the corner of the end zone in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl--he grabbed his face ask and yanked it down in frustration

Love that these mouth breathers keep trying to say this because they try to prop up the 2 veteran QB's, but Brady and Peyton have done this PLENTY of times....they all do it. It's not a big deal and never was, obviously

Colin is right, as always.  Brady is class.  ALWAYS.

Peyton Manning.  CLASS.  ALWAYS!

Every good QB can lose his cool and that's okay. It's more a matter of: How often? Does he hold a grudge? Does he compliment players when they do something right? Is he willing to give a guy another chance? How often does he make an a** of himself by ranting and raving beyond a reasonable point? How often does he show up the coach or other players?

If Rodgers starts glaring at WRs every time they drop a ball or chewing out his Oline every time they miss a block or gesturing at MM several times a game, then I'll start to worry.

Not a surprise that Frazier would address his diarrhea of the mouth.

"Keep saying that Ponder is a much better QB than Aaron Rodgers, Greg.  Nobody else will tell Christian he's any good."

This story seems to have "legs," so I decided to call my old

friend Sig Freud, an eminent psychologist in Austria for his opinion.
His accent was a bit thick.  Let me try to convey his main points as
well as I can recall them.

"Well, this Jennings person sounds like he may be lashing out at his
former quarterback out of frustration.  Perhaps he knows that his
time with this exemplary player means a severe decline in his own
productivity and career, and is bitter about it.   He hasn't come to
grips with it, and all he can do is snipe at the former teammate.
Could it be that he secretly would have preferred to stay in Green Bay,
but his shrewish wife insisted they take the more lucrative contract
with the mediocre team from Minnesota?   Or it could be that he's compensating for having a really small penis."

All good thoughts, so I'm passing them on.

Swear to Jebus I do not get WR's in this league. I don't know WTH it is but I can't think of another position (including QB) where one player feels so self entitled, is so over sensitive, and draws more drama onto themselves.

For a guy who claims Rodgers made it too much about himself, Gee Gerg what the hell do you think your doing now?

Jennings never seemed like a malcontent before -- why is he spouting off so much now? I think he's just trying to justify to himself (and others) why he went to the vikings. He's obviously kicking himself because he didn't take the more lucrative offer that the Pack made him the year before, but he didn't want to swallow his pride and come back for less than what he would have earned if he hadn't gone the free agency route. No receiver in his right mind would rather field one hoppers from Ponder than accurate passes from the best QB in the league.

Or maybe he just didn't want to upset his sister.

If we were really going to psychoanalyze wide receivers, I think it's this - no other player is as dependent on another player as the receiver is dependent on the QB.  Sure, every player needs the team around them - the QB needs protection and needs the WRs to catch the ball, RB needs blockers, etc.  But the receiver is dependent on the one player, the QB, on every play to not only throw it to them instead of another receiver, but needs them to throw it where they can catch it.  This dependency makes it all too easy to blame the QB when things don't work out.  "The QB didn't throw it to me enough", "The QB didn't throw it well enough", and now in Jenning's case, "When I do catch the ball, he gets all the credit."  Worse yet, if the WR pisses off the QB, the QB might stop throwing it to him.  This leads many WRs to have to fight for the recognition they feel they deserve.  Jennings was dependent on and overshadowed by Rodgers and he resents it.  But with the Vikings, not only will Jennings not get enough credit, he'll be lucky to get the ball thrown to him within a quarter mile of where he is.

It does appear Greg thought of himself as an accomplished receiver with Brett then struggled to deal with all the accolades heaped on AR over the years.

His "maybe I need to go back to my college days where the quarterback that wasn't viewed as oh so great and still prove I can be successful" comment was off the charts bad for a number of reasons, the 1st being that it tells Ponder he views himself as the best opportunity he's ever had to be good. I think back to his interview with Stephen A and Skip when his hand level went way up when he said "the receivers around Ponder"....

I also don't think he's going to handle the backlash from all this well either. He makes the "no one walks on egg shells here" comment then his new coach felt compelled to let everyone know it was time to have a talk with him.

WR's are just different guys. But Larry Fitzgerald would give up an awful lot to walk on egg shells.

And yet, the thing that I remember is that at WM he caught a lot of balls from a QB who wasn't going to make any NFL roster.  So it is possible that he could do well in MN - Ponder just has to get the mail in his area code for it to work.  But I also agree, he isn't doing Ponder, himself, or the team any good by spouting the way he has.

Publicly both MM and AR are brushing it off.  Privately, they are already game planning for MN.  And the Pack are probably singling out Jennings for special treatment - if he is still healthy and playing by then.  Past history should tell you to not give Rodgers a reason to beat you.  If the Pack does beat the Vikings twice, I think someone should get a dead crow, shove it into Greg's mailbox with a note on it saying "Eat it, you earned it".

The douche acts like the door hit him in the arse on the way out.

Reminds me of a joke derivative. How do you make a MN baby cry when it's born?

No need to slap its behind. You just whisper in its ear, "You were born a queens fan." And the poor baby cries inconsolably.  Boo Hoo,gerg.

Let's not forget who his counsel has been through all of this.  Whom was he on the phone with when he landed in MPLS to sign his deal?  Perhaps a guy he idolizes who's been filling his head with Ted hate, with GBP hate and with general AR vitriol...

Boy, I can't wait until they retire this GBP hero's number.

Gerg will probably look back on this and not be all that happy that he believed in his idol.

The irony that a guy that spent the majority of his early years addicted to pain killers spent the latter half dishing pain out isn't lost on me. Karma keeps good notes.

I'm really starting to buy into the theory of both Silverstein and Wilde that this is about Jennings feeling slighted after AR publicly pushed to retain both JJ and Woodson and failed to do so in his case. For I guy I previously pegged as very media savvy he's certainly not demonstrating it.

My general take on Rodgers from afar goes something like this.  From everything I've read about Rodgers, he's incredibly competitive at anything he tries and hates losing whether its checkers or a football game.  Combine that with his brutal honesty and the fact that he's a perfectionist and it's not going to be all sunshine and roses aroud guys like Rodgers, Brady, Manning, etc.

If you're tough enough to handle the competitiveness and perfectionism, those guys can help carry you to heights in your career you may have never thought possible.  Rodgers brutal honesty can be tough to take, but if you look at it as constructive criticism there's always a message he's trying to get through.  The thing that separates Rodgers from other guys that use brutal honesty as a tool is that he is just as critical of himself as he is anyone else.

He takes the blame if he thinks it's warranted, but he expects others around him to do the same.  Something about his approach seems to be working as he has the best QB rating of all time as well as a Super Bowl title.

The thing about him getting slighted still doesn't make sense to me.  The reports are that the Packers offered him a $10 million/yr contract that he turned down (wanted $14 million were the reports).  He over-estimated his worth as was born out on the free agent market.  Granted, I don't know the guaranteed money from these deals, but it appears GJ did this to himself.

Exactly.  Previously I would've stated he's playing up to the new fanbase, ingratiating himself.  Now it's just a pisspants fest of berthurt.

Bishop, exits with grace and takes a job.  Makes some comments to ingratiate himself and gets to work.

Did Bishop do a lot of speaking to the media while in GB?  Did Jennings ever shy away from cameras, microphones or self promotion while in GB?  I'd say that now that they are on a different team they are just being themselves.  Bishop is just playing football and Jennings is playing football and promoting himself.

Wonder how Jennings is feeling today now that AP has come out and said he wants to run for 2,500 yards. And there's another article touting Patterson as the next coming of Moss/Harvin/Carter. Even if AP gained 6 YPC, he would need to touch the ball 24-25 times a game to reach his goal. Someone on that team is not going to be happy...

from the tweet below by Wilde I take it Skippy's got his undies in a wad today over all things AR/Gerg.  surprise surpise, not.

Bayless after 12 again. "Jennings had guts. AR poor leader, blames others. No other Packer has courage 2 call him out."
