its not that berry is a crap DC...he just has a scheme that doesn't work with the team...so players are too dum to get it or can't perform it...the problem with berry is not his scheme its that he cannot adjust to save his life and cannot adapt the scheme to fit what he has...just cannot do it...if it was tecmobowl, or sega football, he would be amazing.

Seems like his scheme hasn't worked anywhere he's been.  There is one common denominator.....

Hard to have your players making plays when you don't put them in a position to win. That MLF can't see this or grasp this is stunning.

So my question on this video is this: is it the player who is going taking the slant or is it the scheme? Is that really Barry's scheme for the DL to just take a slant and hope you go the same way as the play? Or, is it the player who's letting himself get pushed that way? Either way, it's not working so someone has to be straightened out.

They donā€™t know what they are doing.

Campbell just looks awful on all of those plays.  Bad angles and can't shed blocks.

Campbell is another guy that we haven't heard much from since he got a contract. He was a playmaker but that was then and this is now. Don't be surprised if he's not a cap casualty at the end of the year. I see a lot of vets not being here next season.  Jones, Deguara, Newman, Runyan, Bahk, Dillon and probably a few more.

Dillon likes the GB area and would likely sign a team friendly contract. But he is limited and can only be a #2 or even a #3. I'd really like to see Wilson get some carries so the Packers can see how much of a priority RB is in the draft. With 3 tough games coming up the Packers will probably be all but eliminated from the playoffs so maybe we'll see a few guys getting opportunities.

Dillon has made 5 million dollars total in his career over 4 years.

RBs need to get the money they can. If he would take something like 3 years and 8 million to stay in Green Bay (with something like 4 million guaranteed), that would be great, but he might a bit more guaranteed money somewhere else and he'd be a fool not to take it.

Aaron Jones also could be gone. He has a 18 million dollar cap hit and costs 12 million in dead cap if he's waived. There is no way they are paying a 30-year-old RB big money.

Could have an entirely new RB run next year.

Dillon is a great dude, but I hope they don't offer him a 2nd contract.   His ceiling is low and we could get similar production for a 1/4 of the cost with a 3rd or 4th rounder.

It seems like every game I see the opponent with 2 better RBs than the Packers have. I think Jones is about done and a sure cut, although he did take a paycut in the past. I'd like to see what Wilson can do in the upcomings games. But I think the RB room need a complete overhaul.

You can find very productive 1st year running backs in the mid to late rounds. Iā€™d be fine with a complete revamp in the backfield next yearā€¦ that includes the fullback/h back/TE that is terrible.

I say forget that H back after seeing the "block" by Deguara on the XP. If MLF wants a blocker in the backfield get a road grading FB. I'd rather have a guy that is good at one thing than a guy that's so-so at 3 things.

I was thinking the same thing watching the games last weekend.  It seems like other teams RBs are so much faster and just better overall at that position than what the Packers put out there.  I really like Jones and Dillon as Packer people but I just think they need to overhaul that position.  If they overhaul not only the RB position and the OL I think that will do Love a huge freaking favor in his development.  As the saying goes a QBs best friend is a good running game.

Damn those defensive videos that have been posted here hard to watch.  Bad scheme, bad defensive calls, defensive players look lost, and the tackling?  ooof

It truly baffles me that one franchise can suck so hard defensively for such a long period of time.

I miss seeing guys like this on defense.  Football just doesnā€™t feel the same as it used to.

While I hear ya, there is no place in the game for these kind of hitters anymore. Cecil was a headhunter who purposefully went after guys to literally knock them out of the game. He didn't give a shit if it ended their season or caused traumatic brain injuries.

Maybe some feel the game has gotten too soft, but I have no desire to see former players drooling on themselves in wheelchairs or going bat shit nuts on their families with guns and cops getting shot because they have CTE.

Good job Joe, right on schedule. 10 games, 11 weeks, in and seems y'all may have figured it out.

Barry said, via Jason Wilde of Madison.com. ā€œWeā€™ve got to show up and play our best version of football, our best version of defense. We canā€™t be up one week and down the next. Weā€™ve got to find that consistency and show up every single week. The last five or six weeks of the season, we found that. We donā€™t have time to waste 10 weeks. Weā€™re in May. Thatā€™s what OTAs are for. Thatā€™s what the offseason is for. Thatā€™s what training camp is for. But weā€™ve got to be much more consistent than we were a year ago, week in and week out.ā€

Article from just before week 1 game.

ā€œIf you stay the same, you get passed by. The 2023 Green Bay Packers (defense) is going to be completely different than the 2022 Green Bay Packers. Thereā€™s no doubt.ā€ - Joe Barry

Blah blah blah.   We saw him call aggressive games at times last year as well.   When push comes to shove, he cowers behind his 3 man rush and with secondary 15 yards off the LOS.

Itā€™s his nature, it will come back and it will come back at a big moment.

I believe itā€™s part of the reason why this team is soft.   You have to play these passive calls all game long, you become passive.

So if Joe goes, who comes in? Is there an established DC that would be an attractive candidate? I know Al Harris with Dallas has been getting some love for the way Dallas and their Defensive backs have been playing. MLF would most likely bring in Brandon Staley (likely to be fired) who would continue the Joe Barry Scheme who has the Brandon Staley scheme. Maybe Todd Bowles if he were let go from Tampa. If the team plays the way they did Thursday and dominates offensive lines like they did then Joe gets an extension.
