Florio at PFT says Peppers will "undoubtedly" be a 34 OLB in GB. I'm thinking more likely a DE that can sniff the passer out.
Yup

Only 7.5 guaranteed? I like it a lot better. TT rented him. If he sucks the dead money shouldn't be too bad.
Agree... but Peppers isn't gonna suck. I get his age, but he's a special player.
The Packers have just announced that Julius Peppers tore his labrum while signing the contract. Likely out for the year.
Always thought Peppers was the best 3-4 end in the NFL, even though he has been playing in the 4-3, but at 34, who knows?
Your DL scouting acumen is GraveDiggerya-esque.
I hope you think Peppers sucks.
I guess myself and some others just can't figure why you would sit on the money when there are obvious holes to fill and guys available

And of course...Bear fans reactions
Julius Peppers can choke on a fat dick! **** you and the Packers! #BearDown

Good point! One of the reasons he wanted out of Carolina was that he desired to play in a 3-4. The Bears gave him $84 million reasons to stay in the 4-3.
Hope it works out. He can play situationally and hopefully flourish. And having Peppers out there may cut sown on some of the snaps for Clay's hamstring.
Teh Sage:
Tier 2 is basically over, we're looking at tier 3 now.
So according to ol' Hershy, Peppers is one of those tier 3 guys that was all that was left?
This is the man who will hold contain on the edge for the defense. good signing, his stats show some good stuff, not a freak like Carolina days, but no less than 6 sacks, and can stop the run, I will take it over what we have today...

Vacuum signing.
Signing guys from the car wash as cheap special teamers/projects is not the same as signing proven contributors.

It's been known for months that Peppers was gonna get released by the Bears. Wonder if TT had him targeted for a while. Didn't want to throw a number out immediately knowing Peppers' agent would use it in other negotiations.
I don't see the downside short of injury, and even then, the cap # is not too bad. Good veteran presence!
Our new ILBs
I was actually thinking about this listening to The Score on the way home the other day. If he plays 25-35 snaps a game, you can still get a lot out of him. Is $30 worth that? I don't know, maybe. If it helps them get a 4th quarter stop against Kaepernick when they need one? Worth every penny.
I was hoping it would be Demarcus Ware, but it doesn't appear that he was interested in the Packers to begin with. He may have set his sights on Denver with the guaranteed money from the beginning. Plus playing in the AFC West is a lot easier than playing in the NFC anything.
In the right rotation, Peppers should have plenty left in the tank. He was expected to carry a defense last year that had nothing up front- and the Chicago fans blasted him for not doing it. Like I said when the Bears fans were complaining about Urlacher a few years ago wanting more cash... we'll gladly take him on the Packers. And someone mentioned the return of the Psycho defense.... AMEN! Perry, Neal, Peppers, Raji, and Matthews... on 3rd and long... Jay Cutler et al should enjoy THAT look! LOL!
Well, see I've been married for a long time, and my wife doesn't really want to have s...
Wait, what was the question again?
lol @CAPackFan95.....at u, not with u
I saw the post before you removed it too geenyous. Nice try.
I did post it, just had a change of heart while trying to be the better person. Some people here do nothing but attack others posts with smart ass remarks. Frankly it brings nothing to the discussion and gets old. Someone needs to do a better job of keeping the discussions on point.
Peppers is only three months younger than Pickett....
Hey guys. Stop fighting. I mean it this time.
Hearing TT is a tightwad gets old after eleventy billion times. Sometimes we lash out. My sincerest apologies for your butthurt Tundra.
Everybody **** off.
There. Is that better? Continue on with your posting of stupid followed by the mocking of said stupid followed by whiny butthurt.

Mongo, you had two bad knees, could barely walk and was a shell of your former self. This is a little different. Peppers can still play, albeit, not to the level he was a few years ago. But he can still suit it up.
Stick to the the t!tty bars, Steve.

Taking jabs at mods is always the best course of action.
Listen, I am being genuine here and I think some others probably feel the same when I say, there are a lot of personal attacks here. It is hard to voice an opinion on this board without someone name calling or just ripping you with smart ass remarks, stupid pictures, etc. I am totally cool with folks disagreeing with mine and others opinions and expressing such, it is the juvenile remarks and personal attacks that degrade this forum. Makes it real hard to continue to participate. That is the last I will say about it and sorry for inserting this into a valuable thread.

again....butt hurt...really?
I've never had an original opinion, so stupid pictures is really all I have.
Please don't take that away from me.
I'm laughing at you, not with you.
love the move. Good Job Ted. Even if it fails, it is a good move. How old was Reggie when he signed his last contract with GB.
Tundra: Learn to laugh brother. How do you think guys like IC get through life? Without an ability to laugh at himself, he'd have eaten his pistol decades ago.
Judging by his size I think he ate a tank instead.

Piss off. I predicted great things when Joe Johnson was signed.
I LIKE this move today, I do reserve the right to rip it if he gets hurt or does nothing and I also reserve the right to LOVE it if he blows up and leads us to a SB win.
All bases covered..
Now we just need to trade up into the top 10 and select Chris Borland.
Game. Over.
Laugh it up ****ers. I was right about Bushea too.
Heck I love this signing. As other said, he is special. At his age, not as special, but he has always been solid.
The DL ought to free the ILB's from a lot of contact with blockers. That has been an issue. Always nice for the LB's to be free to first have contact with the runner.
