Doesn't Guion get the benefit of doubt for at least a little bit since he only had one week to prepare?

Agree on Pennel.  Seems like a guy that deserves an opportunity.

I was impressed with Peppers in the Seattle game.  He played with some energy and applied pressure.  I think we are going to see a significant upgrade in the pass rush as the season moves forward.

I don't like how Guion was pretty much handed the start for what appeared to be no other reason that he's been in the league a few years. What exactly did he do to earn a start in Seattle?

The same thought struck me yesterday as I was watching the SF / Dallas game when Reid jumped a route and picked off Romo.

Eric Reid and Ha Ha are the same talents. They both played well in the SEC and both were considered one of the top safeties in their respective draft classes if not the top safeties. Measurables are about the same, stats in college are similar. Draft profile strenghts & weaknesses are almost identical. Obvious 1st round safeties.

Eric Reid started week 1 against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers last year in his rookie season. No grace period. No trial and error. SF had seasoned vets at S and they started Reid immediately.

Ha Ha is getting spot work.

Sometimes you have to trust talent will figure things out.

Completely agree on HCD.  It is blatantly obvious that he's going to be a special football player for the Packers.  He was all over the field in Seattle.  No sense stunting his growth.  Play the kid.

Peppers completes package

There he stood, a tower planted in the middle of the field. The defensive end-turned-outside linebacker was impossible to hide in the Green Bay Packers' secondary. Everyone saw him, it seemed, except Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez.

But Peppers was watching Sanchez.

"I was able to get a read on his eyes," Peppers said.

"These are the kind of plays that I always envisioned myself making," Peppers said. "These are the kind of plays that I always told myself that, if I was able to play in a defense like this, I could make those kind of plays. I'm finally doing it, and I'm having a lot of fun with it."

Pick was impressive. His speed was impressive. Switching the ball and stiff arming a WR like a ball carrier was impressive. But after going 52 yards that mother f%#*^~r jumped backwards into the stands and put his ass on top of the wall without using his hands. Isn't that wall 6'8"??? He is an absolute athletic freak of nature.

I also think his best work in this defense is ahead of him.

He looks so big on TV, I initially thought ane of the linemen had intercepted, and that big boy wasn't going to make it very far, much less the end zone.

As soon as he took off, though, you could see it was Peppers, and he had speed ! There's no way a man that big should be able to run that fast.

Peppers talking at his locker today...

“I wake up and I’m happy to come to work every day. That’s a good thing. So far, so good."

"We make up defenses sometimes that we haven’t even run yet. We might have something this week that we haven’t run all season."

"Elephant ends who can do everything is why we can use new defenses. We all can rush. We all can drop. We all can get down in a 3."

The Wizard is very happy.

Not so sure about that. He's having a very good season, but his cap hit goes up to $12 million next season and his age goes up to 35.

It's good to have a herd of elephants.

If Peppers likes GB that much, then he'd probably be open to redoing his contract to add an extra year or so and make it more cap friendly, and that would allow TT to cut him with less of a cap hit after next year. I don't think he'd like to start all over again with a third team.

Like Allen. Peppers will be fine acting like Chicago didn't really happen.

Will be interesting to see what Peppers does if GB wins it all this year. He might restructure and come back on the cheap for the next two years. GB is going to be Vegas' darling in 2015 and 2016. Hard to underestimate how well TT has set the table for the next few years.

He isn't worth $12 million, but if he is a key reason for the team winning it all this year? He's easily still worth $8-9 million in 2015. He isn't going to get that much from any other team, so it would be in his best interest to re-negotiate.
