Certainly it did.  Also his familiarity with the Packers.  No opposing player knows better how good Rodgers is and he wants to ride on that wagon.

Look, he's 34, had a borderline HoF career, made millions.  Missing one thing, that being a ring.  He could have gotten more money somewhere else for a year.  He wants a Lombardi trophy, no better way to cement one's career and legacy.  Why not go to the division's class team and play a key role?  More I think about this the more I like this move.

I will go on board as loving this signing.  Very, very reasonable cap and guaranteed dollars.

I also like Ted's approach to FA's.  Watch TB in a couple of years - they will be shedding dollars with unproductive signings.

Not a bad DL group either.....The roster of linemen now consists of Raji, Peppers, Mike Daniels, Josh Boyd,  Datone Jones and Jerel Worthy.

Great news to wake up to....feel like still dreaming from heaven.

I had a feeling he would end up in GB.

Here's the thing I ****ing love about Emery. When he sees a problem or deficiency, (In Green Bay) he attacks it via multiple angles. He doesn't just sign a ****ty  GB FA (MD Jennings), he releases the most desired and needed position for the packers as well (Peppers).

I think the Trestman/Emery duo are going to have a fantastic run for Green Bay in Chicago.

He's coming off a bad year, so you gotta wonder how much he still has left in the tank, but this is the type of low risk/high upside deal you're looking for

Wonder how GB will use him

What's old is new again is possible actually. Peppers/Perry could be the next Tim Harris or Bryce Paup. San Fran runs something similar to Hank Bullough's defense (only well), kind of a 3-4/4-3 hybrid with an "Elephant", not a huge change from their current scheme except the bigger OLB would line up with his hand down a bit more.

Perry better grab a fresh tube of Vagisil and strap on with Peppers, Neal and likely a rookie , maybe even Jones who could take his snaps.

Very good deal. Peppers numbers were down last year but IMO, that was due to the Bears front seven being pretty weak.  Teams could focus on Peppers and not have much else to worry about.  He's not a guy that can carry a defense any more but if he's playing on the same side as CMIII, watch out.  The thing about Peppers too is that he's not a one trick pony that just rushes the passer.  He's a complete player.  This front seven needs that bad.

Seems to me like this is a 1-2 year deal with a third year option depending on his performance and the growth in the cap.

That was my initial thought as well. However, I could have sworn hearing something about Peppers and Trgovac not having the greatest relationship in Carolina back when he came to GB as DL coach. That sticks in the back of my head for some reason...although the older I get, the wronger I get on such matters. Could be another figment of my imagination.

I like it.  Pretty low risk.   Good player.  If they can get creative with Raji, Datone, Perry, CMIII, Peppers...lots of size, speed and skill for QBs to worry about.

Now if they could add a true ILB via the draft--even one then AJ could be serviceable.  And then ad a true safety via the draft.

At the very least, this should give ROTTT more flexibility with the draft.

Bad year... 45 tackles, 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 interception and 3 passes defensed.

Think if he has an AVERAGE year in GB.  This dude is a special football player.  He is winding down but can still change the game.
