On Saturday, a source with knowledge of the situation told PFT that no decision has been made regarding the future of Vikings coach Leslie Frazier.  According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, a decision has been made.

Per Glazer, Frazier is out.

There was no wiggling or waffling in Glazer’s report.  Glazer said the hammer will fall after ownership meets on Monday morning with G.M. Rick Spielman.

If true, I'm sorry to hear it. He was a class act in an otherwise classless organization. Plus, we could usually beat him.

Yes, class act, but they also have a lot more talent than their record shows. I think their team just lacks any cohesiveness. Plus, any coach who cannot find a way to get Patterson on the field for every offensive play deserves to be scrutinized. Either Patterson has hands of stone or they don't know what they have. If anything, you get him in there and just tell him to run a go route every time to leave Jennings wide open.

I think their QB situation is the biggest problem and Frazier may be at fault there since he really wants Ponder as the starter come heck or high water.

Tell you one thing, I'd take their ST coach over ours!

@RapSheet: The plan is for Mike Shanahan and owner Dan Snyder to meet around 8 or so tomorrow. A perfunctory meeting. Everyone believes he’s gone.

#Redskins are planning for a press conference around 10 am tomorrow, where they are expected to announce their coaching change.

No fan of Danny Snyder or his diva QB, but I must confess to some degree of joy over Shanahan's crash-and-burn.  Can't think of a coach who deserves it more.

@FootballExpert: The last four coaches fired in the AFC North have been the coach of the Cleveland Browns.

When they hired Mike Lombardi...

Now that their season has ended, what kind of changes will Ol' Jerruh be making in DallAss?

Seriously, what coach in their right mind would take a job there? Or in Washington, for that matter. At least in places like Detoilet, they let the coach rise/sink to their own level of incompetence without interfering.

I think they'll keep Garrett.

All the way back to the start of training camp reports out of Minn. were saying that Cassel looked much better than Ponder. Have to wonder if Frazier had just made Cassel the starter from the start if they would have had a much better season.

I actually wouldn't be excited to see Del Rio in Minnesota. He got Jacksonville's D playing well for all but his final couple years. If he had actually found a franchise QB instead of trying to make Leftwich and then Garrard work, I think he would have been much more successful.

Frazier was the scapegoat as neither Ponder nor Cassel were the future at QB, now Spielman can blow it up and bring in his guy without immediate expectations after a clusterfrak season (which was arguably regressing to the mean).

If Dolphins get rid of Philbin they're idiots. 1st year Miami has been competitive in years. Yeah they didn't make it but so what. It takes time. He's only been there 2 years. You going to change HC's every 2 years?? Yeah let me know how that works for you.

Frazier, for some reason, just stuck by Ponder. He was his guy all along. Cassel was insurance, and now Cassel can walk and they're still stuck with Ponder. Ponder has a year left on his contract, while Cassel has the option to become a free agent. Freeman's contract is done, too. Of course, they'll draft a QB and it'll be interesting to see who they reach for...

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised to see Spielman let go in the next day or so as well. Zygi will let Spielman do the dirty work and then drop him.  Spielman's done some good things (Patterson, Jennings worked out okay), but ultimately the GM has to be judged by the QBs he's brought in and Spielman has failed in that regard.

Philbin made the Fins competitive, but the whole Incognito thing and the losing of the last couple games doesn't look good.
