If it was just about poor QB play I’d be optimistic about the Love era. But this team is broke dick in many, many areas.

Yeah, the train is coming down the track and people are ignoring it as they keep walking the rails.

Thirty years of HoF QBs had to end sometime. Too bad they made so many bad decisions along the way and only made 3 SBs and just one since 1997. One! In 25 years with 2 HoF QBs.

I don't care if they suffer the dead $$$. Just get rid of Rodgers. Even if he went somewhere else and did well, it's worth it to not go through the pissy drama all year 'round. I'm tired of the schtick and all the attention paid to him.

Second, this D is too talented to play this badly. Barry can leave as well.

Third, MLF has to grow a pair. Maybe this will help him, maybe getting rid of Rodgers helps everyone step up.

It’s not a matter if you don’t care, it’s a matter if they would be able to pay 52 other players.   It’s a ducking huge hit.

They only move on from Rodger if he retires.   That’s it.

That’s the type of mistake organizations make when they are run by non-football people. The board needs to separate Murphy rom the football operations.

With over-the-hill veteran receivers like Cobb and Watkins and possibly the worst group of TEs as far as pass receiving goes in the NFL. Dumbassery all around.

I’m ready for Love to get his shot, even though there’s a few things to be concerned about.

Love did look good in that Eagles game in limited action which gives you hope.  He is without question more coachable than Rodgers is at the moment.

The biggest concern I’ve seen from Love, he forces the ball in places he shouldn’t.  Maybe that’s just inexperience, but between that, some fumbling, and some accuracy issues at times, he really hasn’t been impressive until that Philly game where he legitimately played well.

If that Philly game wasn’t a fluke, maybe we’ve got something there.  He definitely needs to play more so we can see one way or another if he can someday play at a Championship level.

And I don't give a fuck how it fucks the teams future.

I went back and watched the games Love has played.  The Chiefs game, a half against Detroit with scrubs in, and Eagles.

vs Chiefs:

We should have won this game.  The end score was 13-7 and Love got us into field goal range twice but we missed both of them.  Should have been 13-13 minimum.  We also muffed a punt which gave KC the ball at our 9 yard line.  If special teams doesn't shit the bed, we win that game.

Love actually didn't look horrible in the game.  His worst passes were lobs over defenders to the flat.  He had one bad throw for an INT, and KC brought pressure all day which caused problems.  But he got us into scoring range 3 times and it should have been enough for us to win or at least put us in OT.  His QB rating was the same as Mahomes that day.

vs Detroit:

We were down 13-24 in the middle of the 3rd when Love comes in.   Love brings us back and we're up 30-27 with 4 mins to play.  Detroit then scores and we are now in our 2 min drill and marching down the field for the win.  And then Amari attempts to catch a pass and it bounces off his hands and it's an INT.  This is another game we should have won and Love put is in the position to do it, but again bad plays by others did us in.

vs Eagles:

I think most people are familiar with this one, but what was interesting to me, besides how good Love played, was he could have brought us back to win this one too.  We are down 23-37 when Love comes in.  We get the TD to Watson to make it a one score game.

Philly drives the field and we miss a tackle on 3rd and 3 that would have gotten us the ball back.  Instead Philly eventually hits a very long FG.  Love again drives the field and with 1 min left tries to hit Cobb in the end zone but Cobb is hit before the ball gets their and it's incomplete.  Should have been called PI there but wasn't.

If the defense makes the stop on 3rd and 3 and there isn't PI (or it is called) the score would have been 37-37.

Many games seem to come down to one or two plays (even with AR at the helm), but *all* of the games Love played in we had the opportunity to win.  They were not blowouts.  He came from behind in all of them to make it a game. While he did make some mistakes, the majority of the reason we lost all those games was not because of Love.  He put us in a position to win each of them, and instead we shit the bed in other ways.

If they traded up and invested 3 years in him, and stand the chance of losing him, somebody needs to have the nads to make a tough decision and go with it. I love AR as much as anyone, and I'd love to see him ride off into the sunset with a ring as a Packer, but it won't be happening no matter how much we want it. If anything, this game being a microcosm of their season and really the previous 3 exits should be heeded and used as a reason to turn the page. This window has closed.

Most people’s expectation of Love is what we got from Rodgers this year. Decent but not great. Some Wow throws and some WTF throws. Some heads up decisions and some boneheaded decisions.

The only reason Rodgers is getting a pass is cuz he’s Rodgers. I get it, he’s done a lot for the club but if your play isn’t any better that what people expect your backup to be (or worse), it’s time to move on. There’s literally no downside now.

The thing about AR's play this season.  It's easy to hold out hope that this was an anomalous season based on his track record, that the ridiculous throws he still made is a sign he still "has it" and can bring it back in 2023.

But when you add in all the mediocre and just plain bad throws and decisions, what you end up with is what many average QB's around the league can do.  Watch any middling team and you'll see their QB make a variety of really good, really bad and average throws.  Then you might say to yourself, with the game on the line, who do you want at QB for your team?  And for so long almost everyone you know would pick AR or have him in the top 3.  That would be a reasonable trade off for middling regular season play.  But we now know pretty clearly that AR is no longer a crunch time, and certainly not a playoff QB.

And why would you pay that person $50M next year with a RD1 QB on the roster that you've been developing for 3 years?

Looking back at the last two season ending games.  Both games were cold, night games at Lambeau with the season on the line.  Both seasons AR was/is at a place where his future in GB is uncertain.  Both games AR had an almost forlorn look on his face, especially in adverse situations where you might expect more emotion.  Leading up to both games, I wonder how much he might have just gotten too much into his own head about them potentially being his last in GB and he just pretty much turtled up thinking about it.

Statistically this is AR's worst season he's played.  He had career worsts in:

- Yards

- Yards per game

- Yards per attempt

- Passer rating

- TDs (2nd worst)

- INTs (worst since first starting season)

This is for full seasons.  We can say it's just a fluke year, but when you statistically have your worst season ever at age 39, it's probably time to be put out to pasture, even if you think you have something left in the tank.  Father time isn't kind.

If you really want to push Rodgers to retirement or getting him traded, you have the exact same conversation Ted and McCarthy had with Favre in 2008. You explain to AR that they have moved on and they are moving forward with Love in 2023.

I get Rodgers is under contract. But if you are Gute, you tell Rodgers that GB needs to see what they have in Love and the only way to do it is to make him the starter in September. If Rodgers wants to stay, he does it as a back up and watches from the sidelines. Which his ego would never allow. So then he either retires or he's with a new team as a starter via trade.

Murphy likely nixes the above even if Gute and MLF were willing to go there but you get the idea. Couple the above conversation with cutting Cobb, Lewis and Crosby, it would be pretty much a lock that Rodgers would want no part of being a Packer in 2023.

If this past season is the best we will ever see going forward from 12, then it is time to move on...if for nothing else, it's just fucking sad to see a once MVP flounder.

Whether or not 12 agrees is irrelevant. The decision is effectively out of his hands if you believe as a HC/GM staff he is done.

If you can get draft capital for him great...but my gut says it won't be nearly as tantalizing as last year when he was coming off 2 MVP seasons.

I just have this gut feeling he's going to hang them up...and not until this season have I ever felt that way.

With QB as the age the first thing to go on the ball is the velocity...then the accuracy...then the decision making because the first two are missing. Brady was never a hard thrower...but his accuracy has always been on point. This season we saw it go. 12 has lost both...and the broken finger made it look even worse.

Maybe 12 can keep playing and be success in the right situation...but the Packers are not it. The defense is too suspect, there are not enough proven weapons and the OL is paper thin on depth.

Adrian Amos' contract will void on February 20th and will count for $0 cash, $7.95M cap cost in 2023. Packers can offer Amos a 1 year, $5.69M contract and end up with $5.69M cash, $7.95M cap cost in 2023. Packers can sign Amos and be the same cost or cheaper than walking in FA.

I'd like to keep him but would Amos take a 1 year contract if someone else offers more $/years ? He will be 30 on April 29 and this may be last shot at long term contract.

"Rodgers admitted his decision also could be influenced by whether the Packers bring back players like Cobb, David Bakhtiari, Mason Crosby and Marcedes Lewis."

This tells me you move on.

Please. He's not going to hold the FO hostage again through the fans again, is he? Rodgers is looking for a bunch of rocking chair buddies. Mason doesn't have the leg anymore; his KOs drop like dead ducks straight down at the five. Cobb maybe has some value left as a long-in-the-tooth-and-short-on-the-field player to help coach young guys; he'll catch one ball in the games in which he plays. Someone else younger can fill that role. Big Dog is awesome, but he's as old as Rodgers and has more mileage than most hard-used classic cars. The only guy to bring back and expect decent things from is Bak, and that's hardly a guarantee at his age, with his bad knees, and with a new baby.

So, if Rodgers is going to insist his hand-selected band of oldies comes back in order for him to come back, well, here's your green-and-gold watch. See ya.

ROI: One playoff appearance and no wins.

I really hope AR retires.

None of us know if Love is going to be the next HOF quarterback for the Packers, odds are against it.  However, we know what we have in AR and even if he gets back to his MVP form from last year, we know it's not enough.

None of us know if MLF  is going to be a long tenured coach with multiple Super Bowl wins/appearances.  What we do know is that so far he has a really good regular season record but has not been able to get this team to the promised land.  I am very much opposed to the idea that MLF needs to go.  Joe Barry needs to be replaced for sure.  My opinion is that stability gives you the best chance to succeed.  We need to remember that he is a young guy (in coaching terms) and this is his first HC job.  Does he need to improve?  Absolutely!  But firing your coach in attempt to land the newest shiny candidate seems to backfire more often than not in the NFL.

It was not a mistake to draft Love.  It was a mistake not trading Rodgers and then signing him to this contract.
