It's a higher standard and subsequent spotlight because of who he is. It may not be fair, but it goes with the resume and the profile that is MM.

He needed to shut up and bite his tongue especially with hopes of returning to the NFL as a HC. It's just not the look you want while seeking future employment in the league. Hard to preach control and restraint to players when apparently you can't do that at a high school event.

Perfect example of why we in the high school world have trouble finding people willing to be game officials.

I've never understood why coaches in any sport can act like that.    In no other industry or profession that I can think of is that allowed.

That said Earl Weaver was one of my favorite managers of all time.

I imagine the ride home with his kid was pretty tense. If it had been my kid, he would have run over and told me to shut up. Heck, he even glares at me if I yell out "way to go!" more than once a game.    I've been reduced to a long-ago child: seen, but not heard.

Mike Clemens from 1057 the fan, very good journalist/reporter was at the Combine all week. Talked with insiders from both the Browns and Jets. Neither had any real interest in MM. Both said the “interest” was fabricated by Macho’s agent.

Several insiders around the league compared MM’s future as that of Chuck Pagano. In short, dont expect MM’s phone to be ringing for jobs anytime soon

That is shocking.

FML....what a waste of a QBs career

Unpossible!
Why, I read on this forum many times that MM would be hired by any number of teams if (ultimately when) he got the boot in Green Bay.

Maybe Mac's favorite defensive coordinator can get him a "consultant" job with the Jaguars next season. Assuming Dom lasts that long.

Or maybe Zookie can bring him over to join him on the Salt Lake Stallions coaching staff.

Or if Winston Moss or Joe Philbin ever land another job in the NFL they can surely bring along a "highly successful" former head coach to whatever franchise would be lucky to have them.

Hard to believe so much coaching talent was amassed in one location.

Like I said, TT brought in the talent, Rodgers and Woodson won the Super Bowl, McVince was along for the ride.

**** Winston Moss.

Most of us would have over reacted but we just watch the games, guys who are paid big money to evaluate and make decisions based on those evaluations failed.

If they would have canned him and made a good hire we all would have been fine with it.

20/20 hindsight tho.

Inside Mike McCarthy's split with Packers and what's next for him

Pretty measured response from MM.  A tacit admission from him that his shelf life had expired and his message had grown stale and the move was probably best for both sides.

Agree. I guess when you get kicked out on your arse before the season's over you're going to be a little bit chippy about it, but it sounds likes he knows he deserved it. Don't blame him for not liking the timing. If Murphy didn't have his head up his ass for so long, this may have still happened, but in a more dignified way, if there is such a thing in getting sh!t-canned.

“Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm relieved for you.' I kinda gave her a look. And she said, 'The last two or three years, you haven't been here physically or mentally. Every family loses their husband, father during the season, but you've been gone the last two offseasons. I know you're not happy with the way things were going there, and it's beat the hell out of you. It's beat the hell out of you the last couple of years. It's been hard to watch it.”    His wife knew he should have retired two years earlier.   I feel bad for him, the Packers owed him the season, then fire him, I think he at least deserved that.  He’s still in Green Bay, says he calls GB home, I wonder how people treat him now.
