Let's be honest. GB winning a Super Bowl in Minny's new stadium with Adrian Peterson getting the MVP.

That would be hard to top.

Yes, it would be hard to top.  It would also be disappointing.  The Packers do not need AP to win a Super Bowl.  I don't think the Packers need AP at all--nor do I think AP melds with the Packers' mentality and approach to the game.  He's simply not right for the organization.  If they are going to fill the RB in free agency, it would be best not to pick up an expensive (and old) option that is known to fumble (numerous times) in big games.

I don't want the Vikings to get a "Favre moment" comeback.  I can totally see AP fumbling while in Field Goal range in the fourth quarter of the NFC Championship game when we we're down 2.  I relish the fact I can tell a Vikings fan that they were Favre'd in the NFC Championship game.  I do want to be Peterson'd.

No thanks.

P.S. - I also don't trust him, at all, in block responsibilities.  I could see multiple instances of AR getting blindsided because of AP's "blocking."

I would not be disappointed if the Packers win the SB with or without him.....I would prefer without,  but in TT I trust.  If he thinks he fits the price and position that's good enough for me.

I'd hate to see Adrian Peterson come to Green Bay. Extraordinary talent, but a terrible person with the intelligence of a carrot. If TT and Mike aren't comfortable with Montgomery (and whoever they pick up in the draft), they should just re-sign Lacy to a one year deal. No one is going to give him a multiyear contract after his struggles with his weight and injuries.

It's solid.

I still will take the following occurring in the span of 13 months as the best Vikings moments for me.

  • Minnesota and Brett Favre raising the hope and expectations of all Vikings fans including leading them to the 2009 NFCC
  • Minnesota and Brett Favre, as only he can, pisses away a Super Bowl appearance in heartbreaking fashion not seen since Gary Anderson misses his first FG of the year and De Knee.
  • THIS IS NOT DETROIT MAN!  THIS IS THE SUPER BOWL.  I mean that call. That call is everything.
  • Minnesota and Brett Favre losing twice to GB in 2010 including a 31-3 curb stomping in Minny where Rodgers decimated them and Favre looked like dogshiit.
  • Watching Favre's career implode around him.
  • Watching the Packers and Aaron Rodgers win the Super Bowl in 2010 after coming so tantalizingly close in 2009.

And, that's just the Vikings!  You add in beating the Bears to clinch a playoff berth and then beating them in Chicago in the NFCC and I'm convinced Jan 2010 to Feb 2011  will never be topped as a Packer Fan.

Edited dates as Goddammit NFL years always screw me up. Packers won the 2010 Super bowl regardless of what calendar year it was dammit.

That's an insult to carrots.

No, just no to Mr. switch.

Chicago fans watching Sam Shields run with wreckless abandon in the Title game with the game ending pick is to date as good as things get.

Adrian will end up in Minny. Hopefully Eddie ends up in GB. Ted will always love how he worked the board to end up with Eddie.

Oops.  Maybe not.  I could have sworn that's what I saw late last night being reported by Cheesehead TV.  Now I see an opinion piece saying that they SHOULD cut him.  Sorry.

I also see some media saying that we will not be able to afford to keep Tretter, as he will get big offers from other teams.  So here's my question:  who should be our priority guys to retain for the coming year on the OLine?

I want no part of him. Even without the baggage, he can't catch or block. He'd be voted most likely to get Rodgers killed in pass protection.

What's the consensus opinion on Brandon Marshall? To be able to go 4 wide at WR with cook on the field at TE

i wonder what his asking price will be?

Meh, player with decreasing talents. But still good. I guess he wont get a big price tag.

As far as the Packers interest.  I don't see him. Maybe as only a "nice to have". We have other greater needs.

Something I didn't think about with Packer's pending free agents: Browns have over $105m of cap room, 49ers have $90m and Jags have $75m.  It cascades down from there but the fact is, there are a lot of teams out there that need to spend a lot of money.  After looking at that, it would not be surprising that if the Browns offer Perry $12m per year, the 49ers offer Tretter $8m per year and Jags offer Lang $10m per year.  All would be overpaid but what's an extra $3-4m per year when you have that much cap room coupled with a bunch of front offices that have no clue what they're doing?  I'm starting to come around to the idea that TT may only be able to keep one of those guys and may need to overpay.

Perry and Peppers outside with more CM3 inside, that's what Dom Capers sucks® should do.

The goal as mentioned by MM was to have both ILB and OLB well-covered so you can move Clay around as needed based on opponent, down  & Distance etc.

Peppers also plays inside in the NASCAR front, so you probably need (4) OLBs with Clay being one of those 4.

Yup, massive  amounts of unspent cap fighting over limited available talent

Great year to be a FA. However, if you wanna win, you can still be well-paid, but just not as much as you can get from a Loser.

see Williams, Tramon et al

This close to FA and once again, ted is sound asleep. Figured Cook would be re signed by now at least. What is he going to let everyone test the market?? He'd lose them all. I swear he thinks GM's win an award for most cap space carried over into the next year.

Exactly.  It is so hard to sit around and watch all the other GM's work their magic right now.

Couple that with all the losing, and you can see why we all hate Ted

How many titles has Ted won?? He has the best QB in football and he's wasting his prime years on his antiquated and ineffective "draft and develop" strategy. You CANNOT win championships in the NFL with as many UDFAs the Packers have on the roster every year. You need to have quality veteran depth for when injuries hit. Arodg wants FA's, don't you think Ted should, at the VERY least consider it?? Don't give me this "he signs FA's". BS. he signs "street" FA's..guys that have been cut by their previous teams so it doesn't cost him a precious draft pick.

Just once..I'd like to see him make a quick strike..I want AJ Bouye.
