I think Thompson drafted a lot of guys who weren't good fits outside of specific schemes that weren't what the Packers were running on D. We've now seen what many of us thought: Mucus Hyde is a solid safety but on the Packers he was forced to play corner, where he simply lacked the necessary speed, because they didn't have corner talent. Just a few years before, safety was basically a wasteland.
All teams have strengths and weaknesses but TT's biggest issue is he let certain positions be in utter shambles too often. If the price of drafting poorly is free agency, he truly earned Tightwad Ted in that aspect.
