The more I understand Mayo's offense the more I think they'll draft WR like Shenault or Reagor over a guy like Mims.  The whole Aaron Jones at WR wasn't a complete one off.  It's also why the discussion of guys like Duvernay and Bowden in early/mid rounds make a lot of sense too.

I'm ok with Reagor. Shenault's injuries are a legit concern. Without the benefit of interviews and pro days, it might be wise to go with a player who is "presumed" healthy....just my take on it.

I’m all for adding a game breaker, but I think I’d rather see a serious investment in the running game. Would love Taylor and/or Biadasz. Can’t rule out RB, can’t rule out interior.

Of the top 10 rushing teams, 9 had more than 2000 yards rushing and 7 of those were playoff teams. The offense was middle of the road in drives, plays- push all those numbers into the top 10 and give Rodgers more chances. Best defense is a better offense these days...

The 2004 National Spelling Bee was on ESPN today .....the Draft can't get here fast enough.

Yes it was, and they even had color announcers for it! Did anyone watch the replay of the 2019 Masters Tournament? They had Jim Nantz and Tiger Woods on isolated broadcasting, reminiscing about what was going through Tiger's mind on certain shots in that Masters. Sports media must really be hurting to have set that up! I hate Nantz's hype surrounding the Masters and Tiger, to begin with, but he laid it on thick , a year after the event occurred. Kinda made me want to turn the sound off.

Either that or teams are going to be thinking there's plenty of value at WR so only the top 3 come off the board by the time the Packers pick.  Personally, I hope it's the other way around.  Toss in your QB reaches and stud tackle/DL picks and then maybe, just maybe someone special gets pushed down to the Packers wheelhouse or in striking distance.

Either that or the QB reaches come in handy for a trade back at that point if nobody is there.

I really hope the Packers get the chance to trade down. I'm thinking the Love kid might be there at the end of round one and some QB needy team early in round 2 wants to get him for 5 yrs v. 4.

Maybe Indy sitting with pick 34 looks at Love and says, they'd trade 34 + 44 for the Packers 30 + 94. Or something like that.

I can't imagine 2 ILBs and 5-6 WR going in the first round of this draft.

What I think we will see before GB picks:

4 CB

2 DE

4 DT

2 Edge

1 S

3 LB

5 OT

3 QB

1 RB

4 WR

I'm wavering whether the 4th WR or 6th OT gets picked. Could also be another DT I think can go. The Davidson kid who played DE at Auburn is really a DT. He played there because Brown is maybe the best DT prospect in a decade.

I just think with so many WRs teams will go to other spots first. When the WR run starts, probably pretty early in round 2 they will start dropping like flies. That's why I think if GB can drop down into the first half of round two, pick up more ammo they can fill a need and another.

AtTheMurph,  there is one tried and true thing about every draft I have ever seen and that is some team will be desperate for a QB and over pay for them in draft picks.  I think if Love is still there when the Packers are on the clock I would bet that Gute will get calls to trade.

Depending how the draft falls I could see Indy, Chargers or Patriots be interested in Love.

I still don't think a "traditional" ILB or wideout will be the pick at 30. I could see Zach Baun because he can also rush from outside, but the guy who I think may really interest them is Marlon Davidson from Auburn.

He's 6'3", 300# and lined up at rush 'backer for Auburn fairly often. He can move around the formation like a bigger Z', and has experience standing or with his hand on the ground.

I wouldn't be surprised at something like this:

Smith, Smith, Davidson and Gary could be a stout foursome with size and pass rush ability.

Chinn would replace Raven Greene as the playmaker hybrid. Hudson as a backup and core special teamer.

Pittman is long and a good blocker, as well.

Morgan is potentially lightning in a bottle. Jackson is a decent CB prospect.

Bowden is the slot/hybrid/toy.

Davis is athletic DL rotation.

Taylor cam hopefully develop to replace Wagner.

Barry is a fast LB like Kirksey and Burks.

Weird just now watching the 2009 Packer-Viking Favre game because Will Blackmon got hurt for us in that game. My middle daughter was a big VB player and we were on a recruiting trip to Northeastern and Boston College. In an elevator with two asst. FB coaches and they were talking about Blackmon. I piped up that I was a Packer fan and hoped they'd draft him. The coaches looked at me and said they'd been talking to the Eagles coaches a lot and they thought that's where he was headed. Had he stayed healthy, think he could've been something solid for the Pack. Already had three punt return TDs by the time of this Viking game.

LBers : Simmons, Queen, Murray

WRs : Lamb, Juedy, Ruggs, Jefferson,Mims

If any of these are there at 30 it would be difficult to pass on them.

Interesting thing about Queen: youngest player in the draft. Won’t be 21 until August. He’s not a perfect prospect at this point, but neither was Kenny Clark. Catch a guy like that on the rise and the upside could be crazy.

I've done a few mock draft simulators as Broncos and Packers and while both teams need WRs, the draft shakes out a lot better for both if they ignore WR in the first round (will be hard for the Broncos if Jeudy is available).  For the Packers, the WRs available at #30 just aren't that much better than the ones available at #62.  Mims, Shenault, Higgins, Aiyuk, Raegor, Hamler, Pittman and Claypool all seem to have similar talent levels (although different skill sets).

From what I've seen in these simulations, it'd be better to go ILB or OT at #30 then go WR at #62.  Jones or Wilson at OT, or Queen or Murray at ILB.  Then grab any of those WRs at #62 (although I think Mims and Raegor will be gone).
