Last couple of mock drafts I perused, had Brian Branch, S, Alabama, going in the top 10. Right up there with Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon. We need a Safety, if Amos is done and Savage's status still seems uncertain, come draft time. If we move Rasul to S, then we would also need a CB, in this draft. Branch is a hard hitting Safety and would look great in Green and Gold. We also need a TE, Edge, a WR, an OL guy. No matter, but if Branch is there at 15, I'd say grab him.
Good luck with that. Theyβve had shots at Dax Hill, Jevon Holland, Nasir Adderly and numerous other highly-ranked βslot safeties/STAR DBsβ in recent years and bypassed all of them. Then again, does anyone trust Joe Barry to properly deploy a versatile chess piece? Heβd probably just drop him in a deep shell and call it good.
Iβd like to see us take J.L. Skinner, the safety from Boise State. https://youtu.be/riBM-t_Lom0
And maybe also they should take me. After all, what team wouldnβt benefit from having a 71 year old man with a heart problem?
I think you'd be a great pick up. You'd help keep the cap healthy and Barry could drop you back into a deep shell just inside the goal line so players would have to run around you. Plus, no offensive play caller would have the guts to run towards a 71 year old man with a heart problem. Can you imagine the public relations mess if you died taking a designed block?
Thoughts on this wide receiver?

You would probably be an improvement at defensive coordinator.
I can offer a 64 year old with a drinking problem.

He's a good prospect....he'll go anywhere from late 1st to early 3rd, I guess.

Man, I would be a better choice for the packers than you. I am only 69 with a heart problem. Sit back down and relax.

Did you run out of beer?

Take a back seat. I'm just 67 with a fake knee and fake hip so I'd relate to all the players with fake body parts.
With the ages of so many here,
WHY ARENβT THERE MORE ALL CAPS POSTS?
BK in action:
WE REALLY NEED AN ALL CAPS THURSDAY.
ALL CAPS? WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT? NO CAP.

- Traded #115 to Dallas for #βs 129 & 163

- 151. Nathaniel Dell WR Houston
- 163. Clayton Tune QB Houston
- 171. Olusegun Oluwatimi OC Michigan

The only downside is Rice and Dell are likely too short. Outside of Amari, receivers pre-seventh have been 6β2β or taller and even Toure is a legit 6β1β.
Rice is 6'1", I think... and both are just flat out playmakers. I'd find a way to use them, plus Dell can take kicks to the house.
We'd only grab one of those guys, probably, and then draft a bigger WR. It's just the way the board worked out.
Rice isnβt 6β1β unless he gets Tom Cruiseβs lifts for the Combine. His height was one of the surprises at the Senior Bowl check in.
I really like Rice, so that was a major bummer.
Really? I hadn't heard....PFF lists him as 6'3"...lol He is now reported as 6' 1/2", according to this article:
Bobby Knight used to tell a similar story about a crotchety old guy who late in life became popular...when asked how he got so popular he replied "all those bastards who didn't like me are dead now".
Habakkuk Baldonado, EDGE. Very Biblical.
Tried a different scenario: Rodgers and Bakhtiari traded to the Jets for a 1,3 and conditional pick next year. Gutekunst emulates TT and trades those picks as to avoid the "We got x for Rodgers" comparisons and loads up on second rounders.
Trades: Rodgers, Bakhtiari, 171, 259 for 13,74 and conditional 2024 pick, starting with a 3.
13 > Chargers for 21, 54 and 158
15 , 74, 244, 256 > Tampa Bay for 19,50,196
78, 158 > Denver for 68
19 Isaiah Foskey Edge - Burst and power are there and he'll be an immediate starter with Gary recovering from injury.
21 Darnell Wright OT - Experience starting on both right and left side he should start at one of the bookends immediately.
45 Darnell Washington TE - A size mismatch who can also block.
50 Dalton Kincaid TE - A double dip, Kincaid has chance to be a dynamic receiving threat though he's still abit raw.
54 Chris Smith II S - Size is a bit of a concern but he's fast, fluid and has good ball skills.
68 Cedric Tillman WR - Desired size, tough in traffic and over the middle, and a sneaky deep threat despite lacking true burner speed.
116 JL Skinner S - Physically imposing with likely enough cover skills to take on TEs and big slots. Should be a Special Teams ace.
151 Mekhi Blackmon CB - DB depth is always a plus.
196 Yasir Abdullah LB/Edge - Special teams guy and depth with some pass rush juice.
234 Jake Haner QB - Potential backup QB with some upside.
237 Zach Kuntz TE - Developmental TE with good size and speed.

Making the Jets out to be even greater fools.
And I do not believe the Jets have the cap space for those two. But the Midgets of the Midway sure do.
