I ran one for fun before the combine really kicks off tomorrow. Philly offered 50 & 53 plus a 3rd next year for #25, so that seemed too tempting to pass up.

41. OT Kingsley Suamataia - Should test like a freak, undersclassman, experience on both sides, can likely play four positions.

50. LB Edgerrin Cooper - Athletic freak, underclassman

53. S Kamren Kinchens - Underclassman, versatile, super athletic

58. OL Graham Barton - Five-position versatility, likely RG Day 1

88.CB Jarrian Jones - Inside/outside versatility, press skills (played board here a bit with taking before Green)

91. CB Renardo Green - Inside/outside/safety versatility, stones fools in press

126. RB Jaylen Wright - A little linear, but good wheels and decent vision. This is likely a steal.

166. S Dadrion-Taylor Demerson - Super versatile with accolades for leadership and communication

203. LB Edefuan Ulafashio - Super quick and good in coverage

215. Edge Javon Solomon - Twitchy, undersized, may get work at SSLB and be a specialist early

242. DT Kristian Boyd - Small-school run stopper, admittedly played the board here.

250. S Demani Richardson - Good ST type, would have preferred OL Jalen Sundell from NDSU, but didn't see him on the list.

So many/most are saying there is no room on the Packer roster for 11 draft choices and they should use some to trade up or trade into 2025 draft.  But you want them to draft even more guys. Makes no sense.

Many/most may not be dealing with probabilities, or Gutekunst may break type, lots of things may happen.

First, looking at roster turnover in the NFL

Roster Turnover in the NFL | Over the Cap

Team turnover: Which NFL teams have seen the most roster turnover over the last three seasons? | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF

From 2013 to today, roster turnover is pretty high overall. In the last three years, Green Bay is tied in the #10-#12 spot for highest retention with slightly over 30% turnover each year.

Even the teams with the lowest had over 25% turnover.

To add: COVID kind of upped those numbers a bit with the extra eligibility years for guys to stay in college. As OTC's numbers show, turnover was higher pre-COVID and will likely reflect that more going forward, though NIL money also likely counters that some, at least for a bit.

So keeping in that ballpark, there will likely be around 16 new players on the Packers active roster to start next year, with spots also on the practice squad.

Just last year they started with 17 rookie and first-year players on the active roster.  They also had brought in some journeymen, who aren't exactly guys they'll likely work hard to keep this year or going forward.

* Maybe Gutekunst gets ambitious in free agency, but it's not probable he breaks type and brings in more guys than usual there.

As for the sim, the offered "trade" adds one pick in the likely sweet spot in the draft. It also adds a quality pick for next year with the draft being in Green Bay. I'm betting the organization would like to have some extra draft capital for then.  If it had also "requested" a late pick this year as well, I would have still agreed, but I wasn't going to counter to offer more than it was asking, and I doubt any actual team would do so.

If the talk of this year's back end of the draft being watered down by NIL money depressing the number of quality underclassmen declaring is legitimate, those late picks aren't worth much of anything in trade, even if they try to throw in Robert Ferguson.

They basically become grabbing guys who would otherwise have been priority UDFAs.

I suffer from small calves syndrome.   I've spent countless hours doing calf raises of all varieties.   They grow, but they sit too high on the leg for it to look like it.

It's like I have an 10" long ankle.

The only answer is tall socks.

Go to Texas and sow your seed!  Catts will appreciate that.

I understand the draft has become an event, and starting workouts later to push towards primetime trying to elevate the combine makes sense, but if you're trying to build interest,  but having 300# DTs running the 40 might not be the most exciting way to kick things off.

Yup, they are very, very seldom going to need any straight line speed, they will need to hold their  ground, occupy lanes, etc.  May I suggest this for interior D linemen ?  Would be much better TV too

Final piece already on the roster:

That’s rough as the main knock on him (aside from some supposed maturity issues) is deep speed. He must think he’ll be able to run at the Alabama Pro Day, otherwise he’s delaying surgery three weeks.

Iowuh DT Logan Lee just made himself some money running the fastest 3-cone for DT at 7.16 seconds, tying for 6th all time in the combine among DT at 6'5" 285

Elite change of direction in the mold of Fletcher Cox, Nick Fairley and Josh Boyd.

Bukowski is pimping Odunze - wants the Packers to trade up and get him.

Packers find WR gems in 2nd round. Any WR short of Marvin, I don't want to see a trade up for unless it's in the 2nd round.

Question: Would you trade 25, 41 and a first rounder next year to go get Marvin Harrison??

Absolutely. I rarely support a trade like this but Marvin Harrison Jr seems to be as close to "can't miss" as you'll find. And we see how a top WR can change an offense and positively affect a young QB.

I doubt that would work Boss. You don't want to trade in your division with the Bears. Washington wants a QB very bad and what they want won't be there at 25.  New England wants a QB or WR so they will stand pat to get there guy.  Arizona needs WR so they will grab Marvin if he is still there.  That takes you down to Chargers at #5 and Marvin will be gone by then.
