@vitaflo posted:Cobb is due over $8m this year. Hard to believe the Packers will (or can) pick that up.
This aged well.
Anyone think maybe Cobb was miserable in Houston with the Watson situation and Aaron is rescuing him? Ostensibly he went to Houston because they had a top 5 franchise QB, JJ Watt, and Deandre Hopkins. Now the team has none of those things and really no future. He figured he thought he was signing with a contender, not so much anymore.
Ostensibly he went to Houston cuz they were willing to pay him almost $10m a year. His earnings this year are higher than Michael Thomas.
Supposedly he's willing to restructure his contract for this year. By how much we will find out soon.
Jordy was apparently called also but he has horrible reception on his farm so the club decided to focus their interests on # 2 option.
We hardly knew ya Blake!
The #Packers announce they have released QB Blake Bortles. That was a short stay. He was signed before OTAs began. He did not receive any guaranteed money so it doesn't affect their cap. They also cut QB Jake Dolegala.

Damn. Anyone want to buy a never worn #9 Bortles home jersey?
I made a bad purchase.
Home is where the heart is!!! Welcome back, welcome back, WELCOME BACKβΌοΈ @rcobb18 @nflnetwork #Packers

This site says Cobb high injury risk...
Is Julius wanting to come back? How about throwing next years #1 out there and see who they can get to bite. Maybe a #1 for Bradley Chubb. Since they would probably get that pic and Denvers 1st back next year anyway when they trade Rodgers there. Maybe a defensive lineman that isnt always pancaked in the dirt.

If you really had one it'd be a good purchase depending on how long it would take to become a collector's item.
Rodgers ... floats it ... Cobb ... touchdown!
AR will break a third collarbone or tear another calf in half and not finish the season.
Hell, CM III is available.
CWood, too.
Where's HaHa?
Almost forgot Raji, as well.
If AR wants an over the hill midget WR who can't get separation from a MLB, you give him the midget and smile.
If he wants to cut the whole team and replace them with Vikings back ups? Smile and hand him the cutting knife.
If he wants to have sex with your wife. Smile and make sure the bed is made.
All gas no Blake?
Cobb's a good guy to have around for Rodgers.
Amari, that is. Cobb's a good locker room guy and a good example for Amari as they can be similar players. They're both squatty slot guys built more like a RB who can do a lot of things. Does anyone really think LaFleur wouldn't have used Cobb creatively more often in games than McCarthy did?
Cobb is 30yo, will be 31 in a month.
Yep. He's not the player he was but he does know how to do things still and, as much as I don't like the term, he can be a "role model" for Amari.

0 INTs, 0 sacks taken, and 0 losses as a Packers QB. Rodgers doesnβt come close to that.

Perish the thought!
Seeing some of the same rationales I heard for wasting a roster spot on Driver his final year. Suppose Cobb makes some sense if you're trying to appease the QB but as a purely football move it really doesn't.
Yeah, don't get the Cobb move. The whole idea doesn't bode well in my mind but then having Cobb as an addition to the super greatest WR corp not name Davante Adams, I guess I'm okay with it.
Oh yeah, that Funchess guy who talks a lot but hasn't played a fucking snap. Totally forgot about him.
Jake Dolegala now gone. That means that #18 Jersey is available.

FTFY.
8MM for a guy that doesnβt play nickel corner or rush the passer or play ILB. Is that salary accurate?
Are we getting the 18 from 2017 or before?
So glad we are listening to the GM Aaron Rodgers. Can we get Kumerow and Alex Van Pelt back in the fold as well?
JFC indeed.
2021 or bust. As in bust up this organization after this year. That includes the front office stooges and dealing our diva QB for a full reset.
No more excuses Packers. Finish what you started. Win the whole damn thing or itβs up in smoke.

Venmo me $100 and I can pick up 5 Bortles jerseys for you here in Jax at the local TJ Maxx.

Exactly what I said. It's like we're twinsies. JINX!
Cobb is going to take the roster for the last WR spot. We all like to debate who that spot should go to every year around this time because it's fun. Reality is that most the time it doesn't matter. Well, except for when it makes your HOF QB happy, then it matters a little more.
Wouldn't surprise me if the odd man out was Funchess.
Aaron Rodgersβ press conference coming up on packers.com
EDIT: Itβs on. So far 12 is quietly on π₯
This press conference is lights out. The transparency of what he wanted and why, and what he really cared about is all laid on the table. A completely tone-deaf management is not at all a surprise considering what we've seen the last few years.
It's just about the contract.
Anybody that just watched that, particularly hedging at coming back next year and not addressing FO interactions, thinks this is still JUST a contract issue is choosing to ignore the obvious.
2021 and done.
Yup.. Incompetence in the front office is obvious.
Need one of these with Gute in a dress for the locker room this season.
After hearing the words come from 12's mouth, sorry, I'm not buying that this is about him being a diva. He's a guy that genuinely wants to win, and help the franchise and be a Packer for life. I don't get the sense he's pissed they didn't do what he wanted them to do, he's pissed they didn't even give him the courtesy of asking him.
That's pretty much a universal feeling between workers and management globally. "Just shut up and do your job,' rarely works. And maybe you can get away with that most of the time if you just throw money at people. Not having the situational awareness from your upper management toward a HoF player is inexcusable. You all have been around 12 a lot of years...not knowing what makes him tick is a big fucking mistake on your part.
I applaud Rodgers for having the nutsack to get up there and speak honestly.
My man @TomPelissero with the question to @AaronRodgers12 that gave us the answer we were all waiting for: 4 pages. Read them all. pic.twitter.com/2tpurKDJ1e
