Time for Pittsburgh Macho to make a complete evaluation, himself included.

Right now they are headed for the Peyton Manning/Colts. Great regular season QB, cannot win a  second SB.

So many things, a perfectly set up screen pass on which AR turned his ankle while throwing. That play had huge yardage, except for AR turning his ankle as he threw, making a bad throw because of that.

The Seahawks are challenged offensively.  Heck, the Rams held them to 0 points just a few weeks ago.  The bottom line is that the defense needed to make just one stop in the Seahawks last 3 possessions...and instead allowed 3 touchdowns.

Exactly Russell looks pretty pedestrian without Lynch, throughout the game they were making up every excuse for his performance......hit by Clay Matthews, doesn't have a Bryant at WR (cheap shot at Romo)

Packer Fans,

That was a tough way to lose.  I truly feel for you and was rooting for my fellow CAL Bear Rodgers and Fresno State alum Davonte Adams.   Though the circumstances were slightly different, it reminded me of my team's most painful loss (the Bucs in 1999 vs the Rams in the NFC Championship).   I have never hurt as much after a loss as I did that afternoon.  Five minutes away from the Super Bowl and Ricky Proehl makes a catch with his hand and facemask...Lord knows if he truly had possession.  Then, the catch by Bert Emanuel at the Rams 17 yard line which the refs incomprehensively called a non-catch...
Auuugh... Still pains me.

Well, I know it is gutwrenching right now and seems so important, but... This is a game.  That's right... It's a game.  It would not have made any difference in any of your lives as far as your health, your career, or your family's future.  Take a moment to think about a few things:

-  I have a client who has battled what they call triplenet cancer for a year, she had a double masectomy, and went through two rounds of chemo... Tests were done to determine if she were cancer free now.  Unfortunately, results showed cancer had moved from breast to lungs and lymph nodes.  Two more rounds of chemo just started... Imagine yourself in her place and the things you would be worrying about which are truly meaningful.

-  Ten days ago, a really good friend of mine disappeared mysteriously in Palm Springs on the site of the JW Marriott in Palm Desert, CA.  His wallet and jacket are found on the golf course, but he is missing.  Bloodhounds follow his trail to the pond onsite of the 18th green.  Three days ago, his body is discovered in the pond.  He was married and one of the nicest five human beings I have ever met in my life.  Our anguish after a tough, tough loss and her anguish... Come on.

-  Five years ago, to the day, my daughter was born.  Priorities changed.  Football stopped being a weekly live or die thing.  It became a game because one hug or kiss from my baby could make me forget the Bucs 2-14 record.

You will deal better with this loss and move on quicker when you realize it is just a game, that you have so many blessings more important than this team, and that you have your health.

#Packers' Jordy Nelson yells at teammate Brandon Bostick after Bostick dropped an onside kick against

Why would anybody think he could execute his assignment...the reason he isn't playing on offense is he doesn't know his assignments.

If Jordy makes the catch in Buffalo, the game is in Lambeau.

Jordy was a non-factor himself.

Jordy pretty much has been a non factor since the Bucs game
That's an interesting point

Jordy pic yelling at Bostick (maybe rightfully so) but 87 was practically a non factor yesterday

So many big plays made by the D during the game that we will only remember Burnett taking a knee and Tramon getting burned on the TD and Dix falling asleep on the 2pt conversion

That all being said - the wife (who rarely watches football) made a great comment - the game should have been over at half 35-0.  Hard to argue with that.

How fortunes can change - Kearse had 2 tips and 0 catches that resulted in 2 ints and that scrub gets the game winner.

Someone needs to do some serious short yardage self scouting and study what the best short yardage teams are doing especially in the red zone. As close as Kuhn came if he cannot stay on his feet (which he seldom does) he cannot go over the goal line. Almost everything else is kind of fluky and crazy. Not that it was not preventible but the goal line stand was one thing they had the ability to control.

I don't think it's that complicated. I'd wager the best short yardage teams mix in QB sneaks, especially of the quick-snap variety, and pull some misdirection, passing out of their goal-line formation, tight ends selling that they're run blocking. Inside runs are all fine and dandy, but it helps to have them at least be thinking that you might do something else.

This year it was 80.4. Cam Newton last week was 79.2, which is right around his seasonal average for the year. AR's average this year was 112.2.

AR said his best play in the previous championship game was a tackle on a pick and he needed to play better. He obviously fell short.

If you think the QB is an issue when your defense can't protect a 12 point lead with 4 minutes left and the opponent on their own 31, then I don't know what to tell you.

Forget everything that happened before that.  4 minutes.  12 point lead.  Seattle on their own 31.  And, your defense does this: 12 plays, 3 TDs and that insane 2 pt conversion.

How in the **** does Burnett go down like he iced the game with 5 minutes left and no one within 20 yards of him?

How in the **** does McCarthy not attack a one armed Richard Sherman repeatedly?  Run sweeps with Lacy at him.  Run WR screens at him.  DO SOMETHING.  If your opponent is stupid enough to play with 10 guys you attack that.

How in the **** is your ST coach not highlighting to look for a Fake FG in that situation?

I never in a million years would have known this if you hadn't posted it in this football forum.  Thank you so much for setting me straight.  I will get right on getting my priorities straightened out, good sir.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, I have seen the light!  (On a football internet forum of all places!)

Yes, it's the defenses fault that they gave the O 4 turnovers (5 if you count the special teams) and the best the O could do was to come away with 6 points. The defense played well enough that this game should have been over at half time.

I'm glad to hear Sitton feels like crap. I hope the whole O line feels that way. They were just as much a part of this fail as anyone IMO.

Tough for us, this shows how painful it is for the players. But it's been painful for the last few years with "epic" embarrassing losses. And yet nothing will change except for the reshuffling of a few players. McCarthy will play call us into oblivion, Capers will still rush 3 on a 3rd and 50 and the other team will convert, Slocum will be "shocked"... "shocked"... that another team will try a fake FG... and Hawk will be stuffing his face into a lineman's crotch while a running back goes by him, and still be here next year because he's always available. And Thompson will disappear til the draft, then disappear again after it.

Rodgers is getting frustrated, but is unlikely to open up more than he did yesterday when he hinted at his frustration with the offensive mindset. He needs to show a little more Brady fire and a little less resignation. Brady and Belicheck may be despised by many, but their meanness in a mean sport is why they are so successful. Perception isn't always accurate, but in this case, the perception is that Seattle and New England are the two toughest teams, not necessarily the two most talented. Daniels said it at the beginning of the year, we need to get tougher. That doesn't mean shouting and taunting, it means playing aggressively for 60 minutes a game. We didn't and usually don't.

Just a long running 5 minute nightmare.

Aside from this, not going after the Seahawks when Earl Thomas went to the locker room with an injury.  Was the Packers sideline aware when these guys were hurting?  If not, that's almost impossible to believe.

Yet Lang's was the week before. NFL officiating.

I believe it was assessed the same way. They took the penalty, so it was replay of down & 15 yards from spot of foul? Or am I wrong on that?

anyone else feel like we were settling for the game tying FG without ever really thinking of ending it right there? going into OT , with the momentum they had was a likely loss.

we had it first down at their 35 with 35 seconds left and all 3 timeouts.
