I would hate to get in his way at Country Buffet

What I think I think...

Eddie started the year strong then hurt his ankle in game #2.

Then had a couple solid games on the heavily taped ankle.

Then he had a bad game versus STL, against maybe the best front 7 in the league.

> Then Starks has 100+ and Eddie is fat.

Asked about Eddie's weight McCarthy says every player gets bigger during their career. Says Eddie is bigger (in this his 3rd year) than he was he was his rookie year. All the media guys take bigger to mean heavier, which in their minds means fatter.

McCarthy says the ankle is better and Eddie looks like himself.

Those Slimfast shakes not only shed pounds, but they heal muscles/tendons too! Or maybe Lacy got some of Russell Wilson's miracle water?

Eddie spent some time talking to the press after practice today.

Green Bay - Packers RB Eddie Lacy insists that his weight is fine, but he noticed something else while watching video recently that may be affecting his production.

He said that he noticed that he has been running more upright than in the past.

"Watching film, I noticed I would take a hit and I would break the tackle, but I would break it sideways, which allows other people to come tackle me vs. in years past my pads would be low, so when I take the hit, I’m still moving forward," Lacy said. "It’s just getting my pads down and getting back to basics."

Lacy said he didn't know if an ankle injury he has been playing through has affected his running style or if it was something else. He has spent this week working on it, including a drill he did with the other backs in which he had to dip under a metal hurdle after making several cuts.

He said he studied two or three games and had a sense he was running too high.

"It was just a thought, like I watched film from the past few games and I thought back to how I ran in the past, so that’s pretty much it," he said. "Honestly, I have no idea (why). I didn’t even notice it. I watched film and in my mind I thought I was running the same way, but I wasn’t. I don’t know why."

Coach Mike McCarthy and offensive coordinator Edgar Bennett both said Lacy has had an excellent week of practice and has looked more like his old self...

... The third-year back is aware that many fans are speculating that he's too heavy. He said he didn't think that was the case and said if it were he would be getting fined because he has to weigh in every Friday.

"When I get on, it’s like, ‘He cool,'" Lacy said of his weigh-ins. "If I’m not, I’m pretty sure I’ll hear from the guy upstairs (GM Ted Thompson). I’ll hear from him and I’m pretty sure that’s not a conversation I’m trying to get into." ...

Earlier this week Eddie tweeted a picture of 5 cases of Chunky Soup with a thanks to Chunky for sending all those cans of BBQ Seasoned Pork.

Eddie shilling for Chunky. The irony is thicker than Split Pea.

I'm assuming Eddie floats, cuz clearly he's a witch.

This is no way to run a track team.

From the article:

"The third-year back is aware many fans are speculating he is too heavy."

Confirming once again: JSO reads Timesfour.  Also apparent:  they don't get this site's sense of humor.

Way to go.

I do think Lacy is too heavy.  I would think that he would have come into year 3 in the best shape possible as he is a free agent after next year and a big year would have put pressure on the front office to put together a new deal.  I don't think he would lose much power at all if he could get down to 230...even 235.  LeVeon Bell took his off season conditioning seriously but Eddie seems to be fine with the status quo.  At the end of the day, he's costing himself money and even a roster spot if he can't get it together.

edit:  from other posts it now appears it happened during the game.
