Re:  Davante. Too little too late for this season, IMO. If they don’t fix that offensive line they won’t go far this year or in the future with Rodgers regardless of the skill position players.

I’d say the bigger ramification of this is that it makes it more likely that Rodgers returns next season, assuming the Jets lock up Davante for a few years. I’d have wagered retirement for him prior to this given that he’s getting the hell beat out of himself in support of a clown shoe franchise and fickle fan base.

Since Saleh and his side of the ball weren't the issue, and the trainwreck OL and stale AF offensive scheme WAS the issue, they should have just kept the bald dude at HC and traded for Adams last week.

No, I do not think Adams will fix what is really the issue with the Jets but I guess to appease a fan base and a pitchfork media market you make this move.

Rodgers looked old last night. And after his 2nd sack, he was on the sidelines looking in pain and miserable. It will be miraculous if he makes it to week 17 still starting and upright.

What are the odds that Rodgers' interceptions go up from forcing the ball to the new guy?

That, plus sacks and QB fumbles. Remember Davante is great at running those slow developing downfield routes and is at that stage of his career where he doesn’t want to get hit on shorter plays over the middle. More time for defenses to get to AR

In isolation, the Adams trade is not a bad deal at all. A third round pick and about 15 million in cap space for a HOF WR still in his prime is good value. Just release him after the year and not pay the 36 million a year for the next two and it doesn't affect the cap beyond this year.

But the Jets GM (Rodgers) will probably give Adams a cap-crippling extension that will tie Davante to their cap sheet for another 3-4 years.

Wonder if Williams will be on the active roster this coming week? Rodgers could have just said there was a miscommunication on the last pass and left it at that.

From ESPN.

Williams has struggled to produce. In Monday night's 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Williams ran the wrong route on the Jets' final play, according to Rodgers. In his postgame news conference, Rodgers said Williams should've run a vertical route instead of breaking it off -- and the result was an interception. It was the second straight game in which Rodgers' final pass was intercepted -- both targets to Williams.

What former Packers player with the Jets GM go after next Cobb?

Since they're clearly going all in....Why aren't they going after O-Linemen too?

Maxx Crosby? At this point it doesn't even matter how much you screw the salary cap. Eff it!

It must be great to be Douglas, come in to work, collect a giant paycheck and kick your feet up on the desk sipping Single Malt Scotch. Great gig if you can get it!

Look forward to seeing the connection.  Agree ARod looked old last night.  Maybe Duh invigorates him and they find the fountain of youth......or at least some medicinal shrooms

Williams is now available for a warm case of Busch Lt Apple.

His record as GM is 29-60. Keep drinking and cashing those checks. May want to start updating his resume and get on LinkedIn too

You have to wonder how thrilled Lazard and maybe even Garett Wilson is with this trade.

Yes, on paper, this would mean you'd have 3 WR's where AR could spread the ball around to any of these guys. But this is also reality. And we can already see the forced throws from AR to #17 again and again regardless of who's actually open.

As Christian Watson pointed out, these players are also their own corporations. Individual stats matter when it comes to new contracts and potential generational wealth.

Lazard is leading the NFL in receiving TD's. His former teammate now on his team probably doesn't bode well for that to continue.

So Williams was supposed to run a vertical route instead of breaking it off yet the pass was way underthrown and Williams fell down trying to get to the pass.  Somehow that just doesn't add up, unless Rodgers has some new form of math.

ESPN and East Coast media, and specifically the New York media, are about to hyperventilate.

They get to talk about the Jets non-stop during the NFL season. They'll probably have puff pieces about Rodgers and Adams hanging out in NYC and reestablishing their bromance. They are 2-4 right now, but their next 8 games include games against the Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, and Jags. They will be favored in all those games. They also play the Steelers, Texans, Cards, and Seahawks. Those aren't pushovers, but they should be in all those games. If they can go 5-3 in that stretch, they be sitting at 7-7 going into the final 3 weeks and it will be all Jets, all the time.

The World Series is very likely to be the Yankees vs. the Mets, and if not, the Yankees vs. the Dodgers, which is almost as good for TV ratings.

The Knicks are going to be the featured (non-LeBron) team all year after the success last year and adding Bridges and KAT.

GM Rodgers needs to tell Coach Rodgers to quit running all the stale plays and get on board with the idea of motioning more and more creative plays.   Coach Rodgers needs to tell QB Rodgers to quit playing hero ball and hitting the open check down (see Breece Hall last game).   QB Rodgers will tell both the Coach and GM to go to hell now that he's got Adams back.

I retired from baseball fandom 20 years ago, but wasn't the last "subway series" a ratings dud?

I would think between Ohtani, NY vs LA, and Yankees versus the ol' Brooklyn Dodgers, it would be a much bigger ratings draw.
