Thereβs probably movement, weβve just not been told yet. If he actually retires, nothing official will happen until after June 1 anyway, and any trades were probably waiting post-combine, where the personnel folks were gathered.

We only know what we know. I find it very hard to believe that GB and 12 haven't been in discussions since the end the season regarding the future of both sides. If you move 12, there are contract issues, compensation, finding a mutually-agreed upon destination, etc. That, and the divorce between a historic franchise and one its greatest players in history should to be done with grace and respect.
The fact that neither side has decided to inform the media about anything doesn't mean there aren't a lot of talks going on.
Sometimes I think retirement would be best for everybody even though the Packers won't get any compensation. Rodgers can go out gracefully on his own terms and the caps problems retire with him. The problem with that is I think Rodgers is looking ahead 5 years when he gets inducted into the HOF in Brady's shadow.
Carr to the Saints is great news. Saints were never in on Rodgers, so keeping the Jets on the table creates more leverage for the Packers. Rodgers is really the only legit starting QB available to the Raiders and Jets now.
Rodgers is the only solution to those teams if they want an instant upgrade to SB contender. I really think Las Vegas is the only trade Rodgers will accept outside of the Niners which isn't going to happen.

I also would find it very hard to believe there has not been conversations going on behind the scenes. IMHO they really have no obligation to speak to the media about this yet. As you said it should be done with dignity and respect and the #1 way to do that is to have private conversations before the rest of the world finds out.
In this day and age everyone wants instant gratification but sometimes things don't happen as fast as we want them to.
There has to be discussions going on because we're close to a deadline that the Packers want to meet. Rodgers is the type that would put up a smokescreen about it also, trying to feed the press something that leads them in a wrong direction.

Rodgers said on McAfee show that the darkness retreat would help him make a decision, not that he would emerge with a decision.
If a Rodgers trade is in the works, probably a lot of moving parts beyond what trade compensation.

Issue of how much, if any, of Rodgers $60 million will be paid by the Packers.
The more they pay, the better draft picks they get back.

Not me. I try to prolong gratification as long as possible.

As do I. I try to extend it to at least 8-10 seconds

EXACTLY ...amazes me how many people fail to actually LISTEN to what people say in interviews.
For those of you who work in the Packers organization, when exactly is the deadline so the rest of us can stop fretting

I was hoping Rodgers would redo his contract no matter where he plays next season. Not a pay cut, just something more cap friendly to make a deal possible. Saving the cap hit might be better than drafts picks that aren't premium. That means retire.

I've never even listened to McAfee. I don't see a lot of sense of going into a cave for 4 days if you still walk out without a decision. Maybe he knows and just isn't saying but otherwise it looks a waste of time.
Carr taking himself off the market by signing with NO is a significant plus for GB. GB has more leverage in this game today than they previously did.
I don't think Carr wanted anything to do with the NY press and he only visited the Jets to gain leverage with the Saints who already were negotiating with him.
I feel like it's almost a game of "chicken" to see who blinks first: Rodgers or the RO. Will the FO finally come out and say, "We want to move on?" or will Rodgers finally say, "I am willing to be traded/retire"? Whichever one blinks first gets the blame for the split, so neither want to make a move...
Or it's all just nonsense and the two parties are currently working out whatever direction they've probably already decided to go. We just wont' hear about it until it's a done deal. .

You got it all wrong, Bonger. The front office doesnβt dictate the terms because AR is holding them hostage. I read it multiple times.
What if Rodgers says he won't accept a trade or retire? What are the Packer options?
Tell him heβll be Loveβs backup next season.
Michael Silver and Rich Eisen are reporting the same thing (that McGinn did) that the Packers hope Rodgers does not want to return, with a little badmouthing to boot. I can't get past the FO screwup to give Rodgers such a cap-killing contract last year even if/when they knew he can be difficult to deal with. Now they have very little leverage in a trade plus badmouthing him devalues Rodgers even more. I just don't get it. A complete indictment of Murphy and Gutekunst.
Here's the reporting from Silver. A snippet:
More significantly, the Packers are exhausted by the combination of Rodgersβ high-maintenance persona and what they perceive to have been his low-commitment leadership over the past 12 months.
A pretty significant number of Packer fans feel that way as well.

Well I guess there's a few...
- Welcome 12 back as the starter and hope he renegotiates his contract
- Welcome 12 back as the backup and hope he renegotiates his contract
- Cut 12 and take a massive cap hit
- Trade Love

I wouldn't call paying the back to back NFL MVP a "screw up."
I think GB has more leverage than people want to believe.
What is this bad mouthing you speak of?

All bad for the Packer's future. The future is in the balance depending on what the FO does. Not to mention their jobs in a couple years. If Rodgers stays Gute is toast for both not trading Rodgers last year and really screwing up giving him a contract that straps the franchise for 3-4 years.

Turn him into a Tight End
Carr made the right choice. He had no interest in playing behind the Jets mess at OL or their lack of weapons.

You donβt have to actually cite quotes or name anyone for it to be βbad mouthingβ. Usually all that needs to be done is is to state βsources tell meβ, or βinsiders have said for monthsβ¦β or something like that. You can also take a phrase or sentence that, standing alone, sounds like bad mouthing or generally negative. Something like an answer of βWell, weβre ready for Love to be our starterβ when the uncited question was βWhat is the Packers Plan if AR retires?β
Cβmon Pakrz, itβs not really that difficult. Youβre digging too deep!
If Rodgers is tradedβ¦Iβm still confused on timing. I thought I read that it would be better for the Packers to wait until after June 10th ? maybe. Who has the x4 insight?

Being traded is governed by league rules and league dates ( March-October)
How you apply those trades to the cap $$ is different- with the cap, teams have flexibility to spread the hit across 2 seasons,
Trade now, pay later
