I'm glad nothing is tied to whether Rodgers plays his second season in NY which I think the Jets were really pushing.  So, what's the cap hit for Rodgers this season and is that it or is anything carried past this season?

$40m this year and then he’s off the books for good.

$40m sounds like a lot but it’s only $9m more than if he had played. We have plenty of cap space to eat it.

The Jets of course get to pay him $60m now.

Confusion abounds with the wording on the trade...

As I read it the "conditional," part of the 2024 trade is whether it's a first or a second based on playing time. They get a 2024 pick no matter what.

Some Jets fans are saying it's conditional in that if Rodgers doesn't play in 2024, the Packers get nothing.

So, Jets fans are time travelers? They are sooo dumb!

As Chongo sort of said, is it 65% of offensive snaps or 65% of team snaps?  If the Jets and Rodgers have a significant amount of 3 and out snaps and the other team goes on long time consuming drives Rodgers may not get 65% of all game snaps.  However if all the Jets games are close Rodgers won't be benched for a back up.

The haul really wasn't what some here demanded. Many demanded we get #13 but we merely swapped #15 for #13 which is a slight improvement but nothing big, plus what was always happening, a 2023 2nd-round pick. And a 2nd in 2024 is conditional and could, could become a 1st. If 2024 works out right then it certainly looks better.

Contract relief was nice.

Now draft Love's replacement.

The weirdest part is the sense of relief I feel watching another HOF QB leave GB. When Favre left, it was "good riddance, ya jerk." With AR, it's more "thank goodness he and his drama are gone." It will be a relief to have the focus back on the team rather than one player. Let's see if Rodgers goes scorched earth on the GB FO or if he wants something intact of his GB legacy. I'm hoping he will just shut up and play, but we'll see if his ego lets him do that.

He just fleeced him for what was closer to the 2022 Broncos Russell Wilson haul than I thought was entirely possible.

Gutey will be whistling zippity-doo-dah out of his asshole for weeks...

How is this fleecing? Exchanging #15 for #13? We were always getting a 2023 2nd round pick. Only if 2024 works out will the deal look better and that's a long way off.

Is he trolling Jets fans here?

The deal is better than what was expected for sure. Last I heard it was a #2 pick in 2023, a conditional in 2024, and the Jets wanted something back in 2025 if Rodgers only played one season. This is better compensation and a clean break with no strings attached to Rodgers playing more than 1 season.

It always had a swap of #15 for #13 in it, hardly earth-shattering. Many here were insistent on getting #13 without swapping #15 to get it.

Getting a 2023 2nd round pick is nice. Only if 2024  works out is it looking better.
