I DO NOT WANT #12 TO LEAVE……

He gone.

Per the report, the Jets are sending the Packers the 13th (1st round), 42nd (2nd round) and 207th (6th round) picks in Thursday’s draft and a second-round pick in 2024 that will become a first-round pick in the event that Rodgers plays 65 percent of Jets offensive snaps next season.

The Jets receive the 170th pick (5th round) in Thursday’s draft in addition to Rodgers.

@ByRyanWood:  Brian Gutekunst says "a lot of things have been agreed upon," but #Packers trade of Aaron Rodgers to the Jets is "not finalized" yet. He says it's mostly paperwork at this point, "but those are significant." He expects trade to be finalized before draft.

So works out to be a second in 2023, likely first in 2024 (I'd expect between 18-24), and the equivalent of the 100th pick (cost to move from 15 to 13).

So could be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th for Rodgers and a 5th.  Worst case is two 2nds and a 3rd.  Always want more but I can't complain.  Had to happen this way after that disaster of a contract last year.

I like it.
Swapping the picks in the 1st this year, gives the Packers a better chance to move up if they want or the ability to trade back if one of the QBs slides that far.

If AR gets hurt next year, we get a decent 2nd. If he doesn’t, we get another 1st.

@AndrewBrandt:  So let me get this straight: the Packers get
A first-round pick swap in 2023
A high second-round pick in 2023
A likely first-round pick in 2024 (at worst a second)
A $60 million financial obligation taken off their hands
For
A player that was never going to play for them again.

Not bad for a team I was told had no leverage.

@AndrewBrandt:  It was interesting hearing from respected and smart people disagreeing with my view that the Packers had the leverage here (which they used).
Leverage is with the party most satisfied with the status quo. Packers have their QB. Jets had no Plan B.
This was not hard to see.

My only regret is I didn't get to see him play in person at the height of his powers.  I saw him in a preseason game, I think his rookie year and he looked like doodoo.  Was planning on making it to a game the last couple years but there was always something that got in the way.

That’s not a bad trade from the Packers perspective. For a team with no “leverage”.

initially, I would’ve been fine with a case of Busch light Apple for him.  Bud Light on the rocks it is.

once he hits 66 percent DFH And I hope it’s a let’s ride scenario.

You can't really ask for better pick compensation that what they got in this deal, so they better f'in put them to good work immediately.

But the house was in foreclosure. I had to pay your price or get nothing.

Brian Gutekunst asked if it's risky to trade Aaron Rodgers this offseason: "There's risk in the National Football League, but we were 8-9 last year. We're trying to get better."

That sounded like a dig in 12

Use that as fuel.

Hollow threat.
My sources say that Greenie cut off both pinky toes for for Mark Sanchez and Gino Smith respectively, and his left index toe for Sam Darnold.
No record of what he may have chopped for Zach Wilson, but I understand that Rex Ryan has photos.
