Gute made a great deal!
Good.
Lets go.

Excellent trade. LFG!!!!!

We should get another 10 pages just by debating who the Packers are going to get at #13 that they weren't going to get at #15.

Per the report, the Jets are sending the Packers the 13th (1st round), 42nd (2nd round) and 207th (6th round) picks in Thursdayâs draft and a second-round pick in 2024 that will become a first-round pick in the event that Rodgers plays 65 percent of Jets offensive snaps next season.
The Jets receive the 170th pick (5th round) in Thursdayâs draft in addition to Rodgers.
According to Tankathon, Packers now have the 8th most draft capital heading into Thursday

Really nice work by Gute & Co
@ByRyanWood: Brian Gutekunst says "a lot of things have been agreed upon," but #Packers trade of Aaron Rodgers to the Jets is "not finalized" yet. He says it's mostly paperwork at this point, "but those are significant." He expects trade to be finalized before draft.
Just like Brady upstaging the NCAA bracket show this diva upstages the Bucks. ð
I want Rodgers to do well, but listening to Jets fans on the NFL Radio I hope they finish 4th!
Everybody exhale.
As Vic Ketchman used to say, "It's time to be new".

If Christian Gonzalez is there at 13, take him.
You can't really ask for better pick compensation that what they got in this deal, so they better f'in put them to good work immediately.
So works out to be a second in 2023, likely first in 2024 (I'd expect between 18-24), and the equivalent of the 100th pick (cost to move from 15 to 13).
So could be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th for Rodgers and a 5th. Worst case is two 2nds and a 3rd. Always want more but I can't complain. Had to happen this way after that disaster of a contract last year.

Thirteen is more valuable in a trade back than fifteen.
I feel like I just took a dinosaur-like dump and lost 150 pounds. Now we can move on.
I like it.
Swapping the picks in the 1st this year, gives the Packers a better chance to move up if they want or the ability to trade back if one of the QBs slides that far.
If AR gets hurt next year, we get a decent 2nd. If he doesnât, we get another 1st.

Depending on what happens tonight, the Bucks may not mind being upstaged.
@AndrewBrandt: So let me get this straight: the Packers get
A first-round pick swap in 2023
A high second-round pick in 2023
A likely first-round pick in 2024 (at worst a second)
A $60 million financial obligation taken off their hands
For
A player that was never going to play for them again.
Not bad for a team I was told had no leverage.
@AndrewBrandt: It was interesting hearing from respected and smart people disagreeing with my view that the Packers had the leverage here (which they used).
Leverage is with the party most satisfied with the status quo. Packers have their QB. Jets had no Plan B.
This was not hard to see.

Aaron who?
My only regret is I didn't get to see him play in person at the height of his powers. I saw him in a preseason game, I think his rookie year and he looked like doodoo. Was planning on making it to a game the last couple years but there was always something that got in the way.
Thatâs not a bad trade from the Packers perspective. For a team with no âleverageâ.
initially, I wouldâve been fine with a case of Busch light Apple for him. Bud Light on the rocks it is.
once he hits 66 percent DFH And I hope itâs a letâs ride scenario.

But the house was in foreclosure. I had to pay your price or get nothing.

Man this is a beautiful deal for Green Bay. 1st rnd pick swap, 2nd this year. 2nd that can turn to a 1st next year. A master class by Gute, truly. I expected less and am happy to own it. A+ trade.

Youch.
It's only 2 spots, but moving from 15 to 13 is big, especially in a draft that doesn't have a lot of legit first-round picks. #Packers now have a better chance of getting one. The conditional 2 that becomes a 1 in '24 if Rodgers plays at least 65% of the snaps is more than fair.

Hollow threat.
My sources say that Greenie cut off both pinky toes for for Mark Sanchez and Gino Smith respectively, and his left index toe for Sam Darnold.
No record of what he may have chopped for Zach Wilson, but I understand that Rex Ryan has photos.
Now we can R E L A X!
