Here's what I think Rodgers can be criticized for: his inability to trust receivers other than Adams. Deguara was so wide open on some of those plays that it should have been pitch-and-catch. Instead, Rodgers punishes him by not throwing his way under any circumstances. Pettiness for missing the TD throw some weeks ago? Who knows, but it's ridiculous that Rodgers does not make his WRs better. Say what you will about Brady and how he might have bitched out his teammates, but even with mediocre receivers he still threw them the ball.

It also somewhat depends on the type of route / pass. Yes, Deguara running full speed across the middle having to catch one above his shoulder pads is "iffy" and idk if it would be wise to make that pass ....however these were simple check downs most high school receivers would catch.

Yeah Love threw him a short pass he turned into a touchdown against the Lions.

Last Fri my friend Red said Rodgers to Titans with Tannehill in return.  I said maybe but draft picks from Denver are a lot higher than TN (AFC #1 seed) and GB locked in on Love starting for 2-3 years so any vet QB would be backup.  Tannehill  is still a starter despite his playoff TOs.

I heard Rodgers spent 3 days in GB meeting with FO etc. That MAY indicate a willingness to play in GB but at least he is getting all the information firsthand before he makes a decision. Does he consider GB a rebuild, or reload in 2022? Does Brady retiring make him more likely to stay in GB? I can't imagine GB letting him go to NFC team (TB, SF or NO which is in rebuild mode). But AFC-ya!

I floated this idea (12 to TEN) right after TEN lost to CIN and wondered what their cap situation was.  Someone responded TEN is on the hook for way too much $$ to do anything with Tannehill.  It would have to be a trade and contract redo.  No idea if that kind of thing would work in this situation.

Well, besides the obvious problem of sending him to the NFC in general, TB is going to lose players too.  Gronk is going to retire. Godwin, JPP, Fournette and Suh are all UFA's and some of them won't be coming back.  Brady is counting $32m against their cap for not playing.

SF will start Trey Lance next year given what they gave up for him.  SF has the same situation as GB with Love but SF gave up WAY more to get Lance.

NO is total rebuild cap hell so that's not going to happen either.

Rodgers to TN makes the most sense to me personally on the surface. They’re a SB contender with a good coach, AFC team, etc. If we GB’s intention would be to get Tannehill in any deal you could name him the starter and have Love sit another year, or even have an open QB competition in camp. If you ended up releasing him who cares as he’s not part of your long term plans and hopefully you get a a lot more in picks, etc to justify the trade. It’s also a lot easier to have Love replace Tannehill mid season if he blows then it ever would be to have him replace a shitty Rodgers. That would never happen, but just thinking out loud. The TN possibility just seems logical and I’m fine with it should it happen.

Aaron Rodgers just loves country music and wants to move to Nashville area, a hot hipster hangout, to pal around with his buddy Jack White who also lives in Franklin, TN. Oh yeah, there is a football team there too.

How is that for click bait?

Probably unrelated, but didn’t Clay Matthews sell his LA place and also build in the Nashville. No idea if it’s in the same area. Maybe they compared notes?

If we wound up with either Tannehill or Wilson in a break-up with Rodgers, we’re still a playoff team.

If they wound up with Tannehill, they'd be a little worse, but still a contender. He's the classic Jimmy G, Jared Goff type that you can win with but you always want to try to improve on.

If they wound up with Wilson, they would be a better cold-weather playoff team assuming Wilson still has his mobility.

It's not going to happen, but I'd trade Rodgers for Wilson straight up right now. Wilson is 5 years younger, also a future HOFer, and he's a better cold-weather QB. Heck, I might even throw in a first rounder with Rodgers given you'll get several more years out of Wilson and not have to deal with the drama and press coverage Rodgers will now get for the rest of his career. Whatever you think of Rodgers' opinions, he's now elevated himself to the where he draws eyeballs to games and generates clicks. People tune in to root specifically against him and the media circus probably hurts focus at some level.

I still think Rodgers is most likely back in Green Bay and Wilson is back in Seattle. Trades are hard in the NFL with the cap which may make it impossible to move Wilson. But maybe you could work some 3-way trade to get Rodgers to Denver, have Denver send some of their draft capital to Seattle, and end up Wilson in Green Bay. That fits the needs of all the teams - Rodgers gets what he wanted last off-season, Wilson gets what he wants, Green Bay just reloads and is a Super Bowl contender, and Seattle can start the rebuild.

Ok, I looked,  it appears if cut it is a 57 mil hit.

According to Overthecap, a trade before June 1 would be a 28.4 hit for TN this year, 10.2 the next.

Post June 1 9.6 this year, 29 next year.

Looks like TN has 24.5 mil space going into 2022.  So a trade would put them over plus having to take on/restructure AR12.

My final answer is that it is almost economically impossible for a TN trade.

A smarter cap expert than I can confirm or refute.

Every time I remember GB playing SEA at Lambeau in winter the last several years, Wilson sucked.  AR is not a bad cold weather QB.  He's a bad cold weather playoff QB.

Agreed about AR.

The teams Wilson played on for the last 4-5 years have had terrible offensive lines. It's hard to judge him because of that.

I guess my point was that Wilson's ability to scramble for first downs might make him a better fit for the Packers right now. If he's lost that mobility, then that's different.

You lose the defensive players we are about to lose, plus  Davante Adams and the cap issues of keeping Rodgers around,  I just don't see a run happening. We most likely will have a couple of rough years that could extend longer, but it would be pretty disappointing not getting the top trade value for Rodgers/Adams and still losing to a game managing QB in the playoffs next year.
