So does Del Taco.  There's a place out here called Casa Bonita that's probably the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had.  A local comedian once said Casa Bonita is Spanish for Shit Your Pants.

Ha, isn't that the place that Cartman loved so much in South Park?

Has anyone ever had a Jack in the Box taco? I haven't but I've seen them. Never realized they had tacos on the menu but a woman I used to work with loved them for some reason. No Jack in the Box anywhere around here but when her Dad would come to visit from Alabama she always made him stop at the closest one on the way which was somewhere in Missouri. The things looked disgusting. Deep fried, soggy, a slice of american cheese melted inside the shell and trapping the small amount of meat inside of it.

I saw an article that described them as "wet envelope of cat food" which seemed pretty accurate.

I think they own Del Taco, too. Not sure if they put out the same garbage.

I'vew never watched South Park, but regardless of the food, Casa Bonita's is a hugely popular place to go for families and is a Denver area icon.  The kids love that there's a game room, the staff is super friendly - especially to the kids, there's areas made for kids to explore, and it has cliff divers who put on shows.

Oh yeah, that describes the place to a T.

edit: Ha, check the comments. The creators of South Park now own the place and people are bagging on their shitty food.

You guys make it out like having β€œMexican” food from a fast food joint and then having the shits is a bad thing. Live life a little bit. I’ve eaten at Taco Johns, De Taco, Taco Bell, tacos from Jack in the Box and Burger King, everyone as delicious as the next. Its perspective  Know what you’re getting. I’m in southern AZ, so if I want real Mexican food I have options. But let’s not begrudge these other fast food establishments. I suppose next you’ll tell me Hamburger Helper Taco Fiesta isn’t Mexican either.

Works better than Ghee, doesn't it?

I can't stand Rodgers I think a lot of the problems relate to him. He is a walking embodiment of narcissism. He struggles with relationships other than those in a tight knit locker-room and even in those situations he is vindictive towards anyone that dare criticize him. He hangs out with celebrities, can't commit to a relationship, doesn't speak to his family. When his absolute nonsense related to  lying about a vaccine during a pandemic that has killed 6 million plus people is pointed out, he loses his mind. It's the woke mob's fault.. Cancel culture is out to get him. Joe Rogan knows the cure. The election was a fraud...No. This horses ass brought most of it on himself.

Holy internet stalker vibes.   You think you know, but you don't.   You don't know shit about Aaron Rodgers the person.  Neither do I.

Not a personal friend of mine that's for sure,  but internet stalker vibes? The man is on TV and the news more than the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  You don't have to be a Packer fan or have more than a mild interest in current events to know the list of his self absorbed statements and antics or the list of the beautiful but star crossed loves he has been sadly tormented with over the years.

I'm sure I'll be cheering for him as I sadly eat my Taco Bell $5.00 craving boxes on Sunday afternoons next fall.

There's a time and place for those things, for sure.

We had a Casa Bonita in Tulsa, OK many years ago. It was built a couple of years before the one in Denver. It did have a waterfall feature, but no divers. Otherwise, I think they were identical.
I'll assume bad food is still a common trait to Casa Bonita. It wasn't much more than glorified slop 40+ years ago.

However, they did serve sopapillas (think of a 'pocket' of fried pastry dough that is hollow in the middle) as a dessert that were awesome! Tear off a corner, fill with honey...

If that’s the case, as Brandt suggests, then the Packers made a monumental mistake.

I was fine with him returning as long as it was an extension, ie the next several years.  If he retained the ability to opt out after 2022 and become a free agent there’s nothing preventing him from going to another NFC team or rival.  Not to mention he walks and you get nothing back in return which wouldn’t have been the case obviously had they manned up and traded him.

@michiganjoe posted:

Brandt is of the opinion that it's likely to be effectively a one-year deal.

If they passed on the trade package the Broncos offered for Wilson to have Rodgers return for one year and lose him for nothing in 2023, they need to clean house in the front office. I can't believe that would be the case. It's not possible anyone could be that short-sighted. Of course, this is the team that nickeled and dimed their way to a special teams disaster because they refused to pay a proven ST coach.

@michiganjoe posted:

Regardless of how many years AR ends up playing on the deal it's only validated with a Super Bowl win (or wins).

I disagree at some level. If he plays 2-3 more years and they get to a Super Bowl but lose in a well-played game where the other team has superstar players than just made plays to win the game, that would be disappointing but not terrible.

I just want them to stop losing games as the better team because of ineptitude on the part of coaching decisions and/or scheme (i.e., 2015 Seattle, 2022 Niners, the Kaepernik game). In other words, if it's the equivalent of the Lebron/Kyrie Cavs losing to Durant/Curry/Klay in the NBA Finals, you can't fault the franchise in that case.

If he's coming back for one year and can leave for nothing in 2023, that's malpractice on the part of the FO. Anything other than a Super Bowl win in that case should get Gutey fired because they will have given away all that potential draft capital for one shot at a ring.

We're assuming they had the option for a trade.  Rodgers does have a say in where he goes (cuz he could just retire if they trade him where he doesn't want to go).  It doesn't matter what Denver would have given up if Rodgers didn't want to play in Denver.  And any place Rodgers would want to play may not have given up what the Packers would have wanted in return.

In Rodgers case, any trade is a two way street.

Why do people keep saying this?  If Rodgers goes the FA route don't the Packers at least get a comp pick???  It wouldn't be a 1st or probably even a 2nd, but it would at least be a 3rd.   I don't care how good Rodgwers plays in 2022, who would give up more than a 3rd for a 40 year old QB?  I only see visions of John Hadl.

I used to have so much respect for Rich Eisen, but he has been obsessed with this Rodgers β€œSaga”. His show is now unwatchable.

I was listening to Dan Patrick's show driving in last week. He mentioned that when have a show on ESPN (or, I assume, the NFL network) that you are given lists of subjects that you are asked to cover by the senior leadership on each show. Most likely, this is based on a research department looking at what's generating the most clicks and attention. He said you were told you had to make every attempt to mention LeBron and the Cowboys every show.

Rodgers generates clicks and eyeballs because he is probably one of the most hated athletes in the country right now.

The NBA parts of these shows talk about LeBron for some of the same reasons. Jokic, Giannis, and Embiid are all having by some advanced metrics the best seasons in NBA regular season history, but they mention them for about 5 minutes and then spend 30 minutes dissecting the #9 seeded Lakers latest loss and then talk about Harden for the rest of the time.

I think I read somewhere because of how they handled some of the restructuring of his contract, the Packers will be ineligible to get a comp pick if and when he does leave in FA.
