To blame the defense for that loss after the our offense and MVP QB failed to score no more than 10 points is just plain ludicrous

Blaming the QB who put points on the board against that defense while missing his left tackle when his defense failed to stop Jimmy G is ludicrous.

None of the units performed well enough in that game. Arguably the biggest cause of that loss and the loss to Tampa the previous year was Bakhtiari. Both times great pass rushes exploited a weak LT position.

So a defense holding a team to 6 points isn’t good enough in a playoff game? Got it!

Never knew #12 didn’t do ANY outside events with the WR’s.  πŸ˜³  no wonder they weren’t top rated WR’s with him.  Gotta hang together for at least a few times eh??  12 didn’t ever hang with them.
According to Doubs via Maggie and Perloff, Rodgers didn’t hang with his wide receivers outside of the facility β€” not even once.

β€œI didn’t get a chance to hangout with him,” revealed Doubs. β€œβ€¦ As far as being around 12, I’d say possibly it’s always been football. In the building, on the practice field. It was never a time where you know β€” well, there was an event.

β€œWe had a team get-together for Halloween. I thought that was pretty cool.”

Aaron Rodgers β€” not exactly one for an ice-breaker. No wonder why he wasn’t on the same page as his wide receivers for most of the season.

It was the worst possible finish they could have had.  Don't get to see Love play at all before they decide on his 5th year option, still miss the playoffs, and end up with a mid-round 1st pick instead of a higher one.  At the end of the season we aren't any better than the Bears.  But we get literally nothing out of a 8-9 season.  Hell we don't even get a "we're on the rise" feeling like Detroit has.  We had the worst possible outcome this past season of any we could have had.

All of that is true.  But I'll take it as I couldn't hope for losses by the team along the way.  Don't know about anyone else.....

All of this is spot on. While every year without GB hoisting a Lombardi seems like a failure, this past season feels like an utter, total wreck of a fiasco in every way possible.

Arrigo approved!

Thing is with the Raiders...they are more than just one QB away from being a Super Bowl team.

Waller is one of their premier weapons. Don't see it.

We also run the risk that teams know we are cutting bait on 12, and will approach the "negotiations," as such. We also assume 12 and Hackett were tight...I think that is a big assumption.

I sometimes wonder if posters on this board want to move on from AR so Love can take over.  Or if they want to move on from Love so they can be first in line to say that the Love pick was horribly wrong.

I'll make no secrets about it. I am fully on board with moving on from Rodgers. And no, it has nothing to with his views, his quirkiness, his hippie dippie takes on a lot of stuff. If I believed he really could lead this team to a SB, put his team on his back when necessary, and elevate other players around him, I'd be all for bringing him back in '23.

But that's no longer this soon to be 40 year old version of AR. And it hasn't been for years.

Rodgers had the prime situation he wanted his whole career for 2 straight years. He had home field advantage throughout, he had the supposed weather conditions he wanted in '21, he had a HOF All-Pro WR in Adams, he had arguably one of the best RB's duo's in football....and he shit the bed.

So yes, I know how this movie ends. And we do not need to spend another 60 million to watch this same rerun.

So, if the Jets do want to obtain Rodgers, who are all the receivers they [the Jets] have that Rodgers will be thrilled to throw to? And would Rodgers work with them in the off-season?

Garrett Wilson racked up 1100 yards receiving and is likely the offensive rookie of the year. And almost certainly, the Jets would also sign Randall Cobb to make Rodgers happy. And probably Lewis as well.

Add in Corey Davis, TE Tyler Conklin, and two pretty good receiving RBs in Breece Hall and Michael Carter.  They have the catchers, just not the thrower.

On board with wanting to move on from AR. I just do not have confidence in his ability to read the field, to take what the defense will give him, or to throw on rhythm. Here's a video from 2020 that brings up a lot of issues Rodgers was having then. Granted, he ended up with MVP awards, but as time has gone on these problems have only gotten worse.  Video analysis

My point exactly to the other poster who said the Jets don't have a thrower. Yet a rookie receiver for the Jets had 1100 yards.

Personally, the Jets would be fools to trade for Rodgers, he wants the pay and the glory but no longer put in the work.

Zach Wilson had the lowest QBR of any starting QB in the entire NFL (of 33 β€œqualified” QBs). Wilson and Flacco make it a trifecta of the three lowest QBRs if they had a β€œqualified” number of starts.

If you can’t equate this to the Jets not having β€œa thrower”, maybe the Badgers or Brewers is a better suited forum for you.

The problem is that the Niners have no premium draft picks next year. They are all gone in trades for McCaffrey and Lance.

Lance looked terrible to start the year. The fact that both Garappolo and Purdy looked good in the system doesn't make it look good for Lance in the future.

Rodgers would make sense, but are the Packers really going to trade Rodgers to a team that can't send a pick back that is anything but a 4th rounder (comp picks at the end of Round 3).

Of course, maybe just trade him for the three 3rd round picks and let Gutey do his usual magic in that round.

San Francisco 49ers Draft Picks by Round in 2023

  • Round 3, Pick 99
  • Round 3, Pick 100
  • Round 3, Pick 101
  • Round 5, Pick 157
  • Round 5, Pick 166
  • Round 5, Pick 173
  • Round 6, Pick 217
  • Round 7, Pick 224
  • Round 7, Pick 249

Why would they trade for Rodgers when they can get butt chin for free?
