Like most of you guys, the obvious locations for Rodgers are Vegas and NY.

Vegas has a crazy owner, it is near the west coast, Adams is there, etc.

NYJ has an owner that openly stated he'd spend the money to bring in a veteran guy to win now, Hackett is there, 12 would probably like the NYC area, etc.

If I had to drop some money on it, I'd bet Rodgers decides to come back and is traded this off season.

Wilson hasn't been the same QB for years and years. Wheels came off that truck a long time ago.

Plenty of owners will see Rodgers as a guy 1 year removed from back-to-back MVP's who broke his thumb and had rookies to throw to along with one of the worst TE groups in the NFL. They also know if traded, Rodgers made a career on proving others wrong. In this case, it will be GB and showing the Packers he's still that guy

These owners also know that if they trade for Rodgers their team will be featured on every sports talk radio s in the country for as long as he's there.

The Bucs will get about as much attention as the Texans next year. If the Packers trade Rodgers, they'll be in the same boat. A lot of early Sunday afternoon telecasts with the C teams from the various networks. No more Aikman/Buck, Al Michaels, Nantz/Romo. Very quiet training camps, but probably large decreases in revenue from merchandise sales and advertising.

That shouldn't factor into the value of a player, but there is no way some of these owners (who in many cases are terrible human beings with gigantic egos and a need for constant attention) don't consider that.

With uncertainty on Purdy and his injury and Tom Brady out of the picture, I really think the Packers should consider reaching out to the Niners.

There was some scuttlebutt prior to SF selecting Trey Lance about Shahanan expressing interest in Rodgers but they are built to win and it would seem like a marriage made in heaven.

The problem is the spineless FO will never let it happen.   I’m also not sure SF has a lot of draft capital to work with but if you are Rodgers there isn’t a better situation out there than SF.

So what if Rodgers holds their feet to the fire?  Trade me to SF or else?  That would be pretty entertaining.

SF has zero draft capital in the next two years. They are not sending us McCaffrey or Kittle to get Rodgers. He can demand going to SF all he wants, it ain't happening. Packers would bring him back at that point or let him retire.

I have a small amount of respect for Gute based on the way he's handled this thing with Rodgers the last few years...but I am willing to cut him some slack because of the Silo fuckery tying his hands.

If he rips the band-aid off, makes the "tough decisions," I'll gain a lot of respect for him. This team is not close if they bring Rodgers back with basically the same cast of characters, and FA WR at the level of Sammy Watkins.

If they go out and get a DeAndre Hopkins or Robert Woods at WR, go and signed one of the top 3 available TE that tells me they are all in with 12.

If they are not willing to do that level of movement, then it's time to trade 12 or let him retire and build through the draft with Love. As unhappy as I am with the return of Joe Barry, the improved defense the last few games of the season gives me a glimmer of hope...some of the defensive problems stemmed from the offense not being able to sustain drives. Improve that, you improve the defense.

If I also had to bet money on it I say he comes back for one more year and he either retires after 2023 or is traded at that point.

If a trade happens this offseason I also believe that it would be either the NYJ or Raiders.

As for the 49ers there is no way he could be traded there this year they have no draft capital to give to GB in a trade.  If the google machine is correct they do not have any draft picks before round 5 this year.

Packers fanboy media all predicting 12 is traded.

One guy who is saying different is a fanboy, but I feel like he's the most educated of all the fanboys...Justis Mosqueda...is saying something different. He thinks 12 is coming back based on the Packers retaining Joe Barry. "If you're going all-in, you wouldn't want a brand new DC and the defense starting on page 1 of a new D."

Pubes are going to be ripped out...

They have a bunch of supplemental picks at the end of the third round as compensation for losing their assistant coaches or front office staff. They have 11 picks, but I think the highest one overall is pick #99.

Here are the non-compensatory picks the 49ers own:

Here are the compensatory picks the 49ers are expected to receive. It's worth noting that the player compensatory picks are based on Over The Cap's projections, and should not be considered official.

  • Round 3 (Robert Saleh/Martin Mayhew HC/GM hires)
  • Round 3 (Mike McDaniel HC hire)
  • Round 3 (Ran Carthon GM hire)
  • Round 5 (D.J. Jones to Broncos)
  • Round 6 (Arden Key to Jaguars)
  • Round 7 (Raheem Mostert to Dolphins)

Very true. The national TV coverage is another factor. Don't forget when Favre was traded to the Jets they immediately sold so many of his jerseys that it paid Favre's salary.

I think it's evident that Rodgers is on a year to year plan and will likely play 1-2 more years, if that. No matter where he plays in 2023, if he has a bad year he'll probably retire. That is why the Packers should trade him now. Even if he has a decent season next year in GB he'll be looked as a guy with one year left in the tank and have very little trade value.

Gute wanted his cake and to eat it too. That's what he thought he'd do by hanging onto Love and bowing down to Rodgers. Agree, they didn't go as all in as other teams have (see the Bucs/Rams) but those teams also didn't have to pony up playing a QB 50 million a year either

It’s all about how it’s structured. Stanford’s contract is worth more overall and his β€œout” isn’t isn’t until after 2025. Brady’s was scheduled to count $4million more than Rodgers for 2023 and his dead cap will be $35 million this year Vs Rodgers $25 million if after June 1st. Blaming Rodgers’ contract for a lack of all-in moves is disingenuous, at best.

Davante is the Raiders’ GM?

Remember last year when Adams bought that property in Vegas and two weeks later was traded there?  Maybe he knows more than we think.

Seriously though, if the Raiders trade Carr they'll get some trade capital to give to GB for AR, which won't hamper their draft as much as it would say, the Jets.  Raiders have a lot of cap space too, and will have more if they move Carr.

Question is if Rodgers even wants to go there.  He would technically get a raise since Nevada doesn't have income tax.  NY/NJ has one of the highest income taxes in the nation.  He says the decision isn't financial, but I don't really buy that for a second.

I'd want a front row seat to Rodgers and McDaniels.  Story this year from Oakland was that McDaniels ripped Carr in front of the team like he'd never been ripped.  It's the Patriot way - McDaniels treats everyone the same and if Carr screwed up, McDaniels pointed it out.  Of course, the QB has more opportunity to make mistakes so naturally was called out publicly more.

Can you imagine Rodgers being called out be a coach in front of the team?  I'd tune into McAfee every week to hear about that.

Fake news. I'm pretty sure Davante hated Aaron on a personal level and that's why he left. I read it right here on x4, and x4 don't get it rong.

Yep.

Davante leaving Green Bay had nothing to do with Gutey stiffing him when he wanted a new deal in 2021 and everything to do with hating Rodge.

And good Packer fans would certainly never believe Davante's personal tweets as opposed to to the spin coming from the FRONT OFFICE regarding his departure.

That revenue source is shared with all teams.   Teams get to keep revenue from ticket sales, concesions, and corporate sponsers.   Thats it.  Every other revenue source, such as merch and TV deals, is shared.

I'm well aware of how the TV money is split and the impact it has on the salary cap. The point I was making is if a team like the Jets gets a player like Rodgers they are more likely to be the national game on Sunday or get on SNF and MNF. You would have never seen the Packers on all of the national games they were without Rodgers being the marquee attraction.

Not sure why he wouldn’t go to Vegas. They are loaded with veteran receivers, and the last time the Packers were looking for a head coach he talked up Josh McDaniels.

Edit: it was reported that Rodgers preferred Josh McDaniels for the Packers head job in 2019.

Wait? Are you talking about the right guy? Go back and read his FO posts.
