Vikings Suck 2.0

It happened again.

About 10 times when I’ve been out and about with Packer gear on, some guy will say—each time almost the exact words—- “Oh no, a Packer fan.”  It’s generally said with the same tone one would use to say “Oh no, it’s going to rain.”

Turns out, every time that’s been said , it came from a Vikings fan. Happened to me the other day here walking the dog. I’ve finally realized why this is only said by their fans. Seeing a Packer fan literally triggers a reminder to them that their team sucks now, sucked in the past and will suck in the future.

Anybody else experience this phenomenon?

I live in West Michigan where I mostly get compliments from Lions fan. It's usually along the lines of "it must be nice to root for a team with competent leadership" or "I wish I could feel as good you do about wearing Packer gear when I wear Lions' stuff" 

No, but just yesterday I was getting my eyes examined in order to get new glasses.  I was wearing a Packer face mask.  The doc and her fam were from St Cloud, Mn.  She told me that they gave up on the Purple a few years ago and are slowly moving to the dark side and are warming up to the Green and Gold.  

I welcomed her aboard!

I see Viking decals on vehicles where I live and I smile.

Oh sure....they cannot help themselves. I just enjoy it.

I think the Vikings have a decent shot to beat Houston and Atlanta. Atlanta in particular as I can see Cousins lighting them up. 

I have a couple of Vikings fans in my neighborhood. They were really mouthy back in August when I would be outside with a Packers hat or shirt on. These days they mostly avoid eye contact. The flags are down too, replaced with keep 'merica great flags.  

And on Sunday night after the Vikings got ground up by the Titans, Eric Perkins of KARE-11 says, "I don't think Cousins has it in him to win big games."  

Geez, it only took them what? four years and how many millions to figure that one out? Everyone else knew that. Blame the Oline and coaches all you want, but Cousins just winging the ball up for grabs as his eyes get bigger than a doe's in a semi's headlights when the game's on the line does not bode well for your chances of winning a Superb Owl.

Grabbing Cousins before other teams grabbed him goes along with not letting Chilly get on a plane and getting on a plane to go get Favre.

That goofy thread from rubechat, I couldn't help but notice Jaymo with the, "Of course I didn't watch the game, what a horrible product" schtick.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard that when the spermheads are tanking or even just having a bad stretch.  I don't know of another fanbase that does that.  Do you watch sports to show your approval?  Does anyone give a fuck?

The "fair weather fan" thing also comes into play. vikings fans are the worst of the worst fair weather fans in sports. Clueless, too! 

Also, if the viking game would have been in prime time, they'd be 0-4, right now.

Why would they put trash in a prime time slot?

Reading Rubechat yesterday a poster made an astute observation about Cousins. He throws the ball well enough to make a living at it, but it isn't really that important to him compared to his faith, family and fortune. He doesn't have that "gotta win" mentality like Brees, Rodgers, Favre, and others. I really questions his commitment to the game, and when you're playing that position it's such a fine line between failure and success. I look at Matt Ryan last night, he was just a half second late on some throws, just a foot or two off on accuracy, a lot like Jimmy G for the Niners. That's the difference between winning and losing, and Ryan looks like he's almost done. Cousins seems almost Cutler-esque in his apathy, especially late in the game, which is why Diggs couldn't stay.

I don't know about apathy, but Cousins doesn't have the drive to win at all costs like the big-time QBs do. I think he wants to do well and he wants to win, but if it came to a choice of diving into that pile of huge bodies to try to save a fumble, Cousins will make a half-hearted attempt rather than sacrifice his body. Brady dove the other day at 40+ in a regular-season game; Cam watched in the SB. One will go into the HOF; the other will go into the "he was pretty good" crowded dustbin of QBs. There's a lot of other factors as well, obviously, but give me a guy willing to sell not only himself to win, but also his granny. That's the guy I want leading my team.

Went to the Mpls Star-Tribune page and they require a membership and have a paywall, now. So I won't be going there again, anytime soon. The writers there are predicting a loss against the Seahawks, in primetime. What else is new?  Prime time means "fold time" for Cousins. Maybe the vikings should start Mannion, at QB. He certainly cannot do worse than Kark, on the big stage. GO HAGS!

I'm rooting for a spermhead upset.  It helps the Packers a lot and it keeps the spermheads marching towards the middle of the draft line up.

There's not many weeks when I want the Bears and Vikings to win but this is one of them. Bares did their part.

A shortcut to this "Vikings Suck" thread should be part of the preloaded software for all new computers and phones.

A quote from the video; ".... beat the Packers in Green Bay.  That is the season." 

One of the Vikings problems is that they need to redefine what exactly is THEIR Super Bowl.  The game against GB or the REAL SB.  I know which I'd pick - but that is another thread. 

Viking fans seem to think the Packers won their Super Bowl in week one. They just don't get it.

Vikings out of playoffs but play Seattle in last game of year. Viking win gets Packers a bye and home field.
