Bryant in that article blames everyone but himself. In fact, I would put money on the fact that Bryant thinks he is the perfect person. So as soon as things get a little tough in GB, instead of working toward the solution, he will simply say it wasn't his fault and that others set him up for failure. He is one of the reasons Dallas hasn't been to a SB. PASS.
More "Best of Dez being an asshole" :
A faster but dumber Martellus Bennett.
Wouldn't want him even if HE paid us!
Want his talents....not the "big personality"
I shudder to think of what Lombardi would do to him. Notice I did not say 'with him'. My guess would be that Bryant's mouth and attitude would have met it's match. After Bryant absolutely toasts a CB in practice for a TD, Lombardi would be all over him - "you call that a catch? My grandma could do that with cement shoes on. Your going to have to do better than that to make the team." Bryant starts his reply, "Well, coach I ...." Lombardi cuts him off, "I" what??? That is all I hear from you, I this and I that, don't you have another word in your vocabulary? I will have you know that without the great throw you received and the great blocking the QB got, you would not have had the opportunity for that catch. How about the "team" made it happen." Bryant wouldn't stand a chance with the short Italian guy.
Ahhh, for the days of total team control and a twelve team league.

I'm not sure what talents you are referring to--he's not the same player as he was in 2012-2014.
Now, he has a fairly loquacious swearing vocabulary, lacks the initiative to block downfield, fails to "work well with others," cannot perform in cold weather, and still hasn't caught the ball no matter what the catch rule is.
If the Packers waste a penny on him, the backlash will be embarrassingly immediate--from the fans, their own locker room, other locker rooms, other teams' fans, and every media outlet.
I know it is fashionable to hate the guy, but tell me you don't want to see him sign with the Redskins and go off for 140 and 3 TD's twice against the Cowboys?

Unless he is great. Then he will be loved.
That said I don't expect he will be in G&G.

Packers interested???
I really hope that's Bryant's agent simply up imaginary interest.
It is someone's speculation that may or may not have any relationship with anyone in Packer's organization that is speculating this. I will not start to worry unless he visits.
Got to give Dez a few weeks to think about how his past led him to this point.
Cant do anything until after the draft. See what happens. If someone signs him, fine.
Players tend to reinvent themselves when no one is in a hurry to sign them.

He could have a 1,500/15 TD yard season and I wouldn't budge.
I'd give mad props to Rodgers though.
No thanks. Dez is your typical stud athlete out of college who never develops the intricacies of his game so once his athleticism fades, he has nothing else. Throw in his off-field issues and in-team personality clashes and this signing makes no sense for the majority of teams in the league. He'll probably end up with a team that's going no where but likes big name players. So obviously he's going to Washington.
Unless a guy like Fitzpatrick or James falls to the Packers in the draft, I'd like to see them sign Eric Reid. Packers need safety depth with Burnett gone. Plus, if Josh Jones struggles, there isn't another player on this roster that can step in and start at safety. And it'd just be nice to have some depth on the back end in case of injuries.
Brice would be your current depth behind JJ.
I had a dream last night we drafted Derwin. Weird. I almost never dream.

I think Derwin James is a better player than Minkah Fitzpatrick. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have Minkah Fitzpatrick in G&G. I'd also love to have Derwin James in G&G and feel he would bring the leadership to our secondary that has been lacking since Charles Woodson left town.

Agreed, except I would bet that Reid's contract demands are probably more than you want to pay a backup. My guess is that they will wait to see how this scheme transition goes and if they do pursue Reid it won't be until they get a long look at Jones/Brice/Evans in minicamp and possibly TC.

At that time, he was arguably the best slot WR in the game, and they were extremely productive together. And I recall him giving the Packers a hometown discount to resign.
Rodgers' relationship with Cobb is one of the things that concerns me when discussing the possibility of cutting Cobb rather than asking him to take less money. I know it is a business, and players generally understand that. But my understanding is that Nelson and Cobb are two of Rodgers best friends on the team. Rodgers stood up in Cobb's wedding. Would Rodgers be bitter if we cut Cobb? Would that impact the attempt to extend him?
I recognize that we are venturing into dangerous territory when we consider giving a player that much influence, and I'm not necessarily advocating it. But it is the reality of the situation (see, e.g., the displeasure Rodgers voiced after MM cut ties with Van Pelt).
You nailed it...you cut Jordy and Cobb, or either one, you are gonna piss off #12. I wouldn't go there...They can afford to sign any FA they want, it's all about contract structure.
It's business. AR understands that better than anyone.
No ****. WTF is with the super pals hand wringing?
Of course we all wish it wasn't so, but in many cases, it's the reality of the situation. If that wasn't true, then why was Rodgers apparently irritated about the Van Pelt ,and why did he go public with his thoughts? See here: Rodgers on Van Pelt
Two takeaways from from that situation: (1) relationships matter, and (2) communication is critical, especially if you're going to take action that impacts key relationships.
At the very least, Rodgers' thoughts on the Van Pelt move suggest that the Packers' new front office should at least keep open lines of communication with him. I'm not saying that moves need his approval, but explaining the collective vision to your franchise player could be a productive exercise.
*Cue comparisons to the latter part of the Favre era*
As I was saying...
The recent news regarding Rodgers caused me to revisit this previous discussion.
It's funny. In nearly every aspect of life -- family relationships, friendships, office, business relationships, etc. -- we've come to understand that communication is critical to success. But we get into the world of professional sports, and suddenly we act like it doesn't matter and it shouldn't occur. It's lunacy.
Again, I'm not saying that players should have any level of control over front office decisions, but having open lines of communication with the franchise player(s) seems like a good idea. The benefits would far outweigh the downside.
So AR wanted AVP to consult with him before declining the Packers offer?

Still wrong. Just like Rodgers said, players play. How he felt personally vs professionally are two different animals. Quit buying into clickbait.
“Hey Aaron, we’re cutting Jordy and Alex Van Failbot isn’t coming back. Thoughts?”
Are you stating they need to give Aaron some common courtesy of alerting him to personel moves that he, as you already stated, should have no control over? Think about it.
Unless they make AR the Turk. "Hey Rodgers, tell Nelson to pack his bags."

Courtesy Coach.
Yes I'd trade #14 overall for him. But no more.
Trades with ATL have worked well for the Packers in the past.
Joe Callahan released.
If he couldn't unseat Hundley, then it was time...
NOOOOOOOOO!
I don't give a ****.
Joe Callahan released.
Veterans cut the Monday after the @NFL Draft. Happens every year.

Jalen Strong
Terrell McClain
J.J. Wilcox
Joe Callahan
Brad Nortman
Brad Nortman cut? There's the Packers' future punter. And he went to Wisconsin.
Get on Whizburger Wagon.
Opie Whizburger has nothing on Stuffed Jebediah.
Welp. Another QB bites the dust. So....by cutting Dirty Harry.....they are admitting they made a mistake by not keeping the Morman QB that is now the heir-apparent to Brees.
UNLESS they feel Kizer can step in and win a few games in case AR goes down.
I'm still not impressed.
No, that's not an admission of that. It says they like Rodgers, with Kizer & Hundley and see no need for a meh, average QB, even for camps.
Probably needed space on the 90 man roster to sign another UDFA.
People, not robots
You don't continually hold a guy on your roster to "stash" him from other clubs.
Let him go & give him a chance to latch on somewhere else. It's the right thing to do.
