Very happy to have Amos. His history says he will work hard.
The fact he's on a one year contract means the Bears have a shot at getting something out of him. One year and 3.5 million dollars is a great risk for them. It's likely he'll play his best two games of the year against the Packers.
As recently as the preseason in 2017, Dix had been pegged to get about 5 years and 55 million with over 30 million guaranteed on an extension. That contract would have been a disaster.

Revenge would be that twat actually signing with them.
HaHa Conte-Dix.

Agent speak. It could have been something like 3 million with a 2 million dollars bonus for making the Pro-Bowl. That way the agent could still be "technically" correct.

Can't be. The vikings are the only team that players take less to sign with. Just ask their fans.......

Poor HaHa had no way of knowing that the Packers would finally realize that Ted, the guy who drafted him and no doubt would have given him that big contract (if not more), was not of sound mind and replace him with Gutey after the 2017 season.
Too bad Murphy could not have moved a bit earlier in 2017 and stopped Ted from lavishing that big contract on another of his first rounders Nick Perry.
Word is he wanted to play with his college teammate Eddie Jackson.
Clinton-Dix is set up to be an absolute steal for the Bears and one of the smartest moves of the offseason by Pace.
Anything is possible, but his history suggests otherwise.

I like this move. Bears upgrade position with durable vet surrounded by capable, experienced secondary players and fierce pass rush. Clinton-Dix motivated by prove-it deal. In essentially a swap of safeties, Bears get best of Packers. https://t.co/bh97NQLak0

Not from his POV. Otherwise why take less (if he does).
βThe Bears will be Clinton-Dix's third team in a calendar year. That speaks to the assessment of more than a few personnel and coaching staffs of his play and projected future. But it's not as if the Bears have committed a sizable chunk of cash or capβ

That makes no sense, "Bears get best of Packers". Plain dumb.
Giants sign Golden Tate to 4/37.5 deal.
No idea what anyone, including HHCD himself, can be thinking.
It's clear he doesn't want to play football. How can he/his agent talk himself up negotiating with other teams when any tape from the last 3 years shows what the reality is?
Yeah, he'll play extra hard against us. Until he gets tired of getting his ass flattened, which is to say 1 to 2 plays at most.

"Motivated by prove-it deal"?? Dix had a prove-it deal with two teams last year and failed them both. What makes anyone think he's going to try this year?

Some day we will know for sure if TT was really the one making these moves or whether someone else was making the real decisions and TT was just a figurehead. I hope for TT's sake (in terms of living a few more years with decent health) that it really was Ted.
This TT health soap opera on here has gotten out of hand. I do believe that his health has currently declined, but to suggest that GB kept him in his position as a figure head of some sort is just ridiculous. Why the hell would they do that? Because he is so beloved by the fan base? Give me a break. I agree he made shitty decisions the last few years of his tenure and that based on his track record Murphy and The Board gave him the benefit of the doubt (complacency), but to suggest GB let a mummified zombie (pictures coming I know) run the show is just stupid.

You mean the short ball where the WR run the patterns the entire defense already knows? Because even if the WR catches the ball you actually have to make a first down.
So all you pitching a hissy better be completely apoplectic any time Rodgers throws a ball over 10 yards this year or is that acceptable in Mayo LaFrog's offense?
Oh, I forgot to work in cognitive dissonance into the paragraph.

There we go.
