Fun times are almost over for the next 5 months and all the pressure is going to be on his shoulders. All the glamour and glory is going to fade quick if results don't meet expectations. His comments at 5:15 about the field surface in his home stadium should worry any Jets fan. Turf isn't good for him at his age and thinking he feels fast on it is wildly delusional at this point in his career. He's fast for a 39 year old, not for an NFL QB.

Also 7:57 his comments about how he's not the guy that snaps at players anymore are going to come back to haunt him if he lives up to that promise and things aren't going well. His brand of football is field general taskmaster. If they get off to a slow start the narrative is going to turn that he doesn't have the fire in the belly anymore and they're going to hound him about it. There are ridiculous expectations of a magical season from the fan base still idolizing a QB that made a guarantee almost 60 years ago. He might be walking into a hornets nest.

It is going to be interesting on Oct 2nd to see how #8 acts and how the NYC media treats him when the Jets are off to a 1-3 start after losing to Buffalo, Dallas, and KC.  And facing questions about upcoming games against Philly, NYG, and the Chargers in a row.  Something tells me the NYC media won't play along with the whole R-E-L-A-X thing.

I will be pulling for Rodgers to do great in New York. I don't have the feelings for him I had for Favre when he left. I wanted Brett to break a leg every time he got tackled after he left. And when he managed his way to Minnesota, I was hoping he would break both legs. I have never felt the same way about him since he left. Rodgers may not have been totally transparent but at least he said all the right things about the organization on his way out the door. (watching the Favre leving fiasco probabaly gave him a better way to handle it). If the Packers cant get to the super bowl this year I hope Aaron does. I know them losing helps the Packers draft choices but if Rodgers is getting pummeled and losing he may not get to 65% playing time anyway. The last couple of years he regressed but before that, he played his heart out with a team that any other QB would probably have lost more than they won.

I'll be pulling for him too. To play 65% of the snaps and see the Jets go 3-14. Why any Packer fan would want the Jets and him to do well makes no sense. If Rodgers plays well the Jets have a better chance of winning.

I actually think the last couple years Rodgers played more for himself than the Packers. Look at how he is handling training camp this year compared to his final years in GB. He certainly looks more dedicated to team success. He sees a need to get acclimated to his new teammates but he didn't see that need last year when the WR room was overhauled.

Rodgers can't really throw any stones at the Packers on the way out the door because if he tanks in NY that press will really hammer him as being the problem and not the Packers. He's a smart guy and he's doing everything he can right now to soften up the NY press.

65% - That's all I care about.

I see it a little different than you titm.....

Rodgers has done all the right things this off season - he's in the building, practicing and running meetings etc.

I have a feeling the Jets are going to start off strong especially with their defense. I don't believe they will lose all 3 to Buffalo, Dallas and KC. The key will be Rodgers helping that O-Line with his quick release. That's going to require receivers and backs on the same page as #8.

We'll see. It's going to be fun to watch.

He better not break any legs until he hits the 65% mark.

Cobb is warning guys about what could happen if they don't get on the same page as Rodgers. This was on Hard Knocks, which I don't watch, but Cobb is describing the Rodgers we all know: "I was just talking to 12 -- or 8 -- and he was telling me we had a lot of mistakes in our room today," Cobb told them after a practice last week, mistakenly first using Rodgers' old Green Bay Packers' number. "Just basic stuff. Little things, right? Like, we can't have that.

"It's all cool right now, but I'm telling you, one day he's going to lose his s---. It's going to happen if it continues to go the way it's going right now. If he don't trust you, he's not going to throw you the ball, I can promise you that. ... He does not like throwing interceptions. If he can't trust you're going to run the right route, he's not going to throw it."

When they asked Rodgers about it, he said, "I don't feel like I'm the snapping type anymore..."

Couple of things: 1. Cobb telling everyone just what we've all suspected: Rodgers isn't going to throw the ball to anyone he doesn't trust. 2. Rodgers freezes guys out who might do something wrong. 3. Rodgers isn't going to go to any guy if he thinks there's any chance whatsoever of an interception. 4. Rodgers knows he has a reputation for snapping if things aren't perfect, and he's trying to remake his image by saying he's not that guy anymore. I will believe it when I see it.

In some ways, it would be really disheartening to be a young guy playing with Rodgers. I mean, you're trying your darnedest to do the right thing, but if you do the wrong thing once or twice, you're running empty routes; you'll never see the ball. I think about Deguara who dropped a ball in the playoffs, then was wide, wide open on a couple of routes and Rodgers would look his way and go elsewhere. To Rodgers, it was preferable to either eat the ball or throw it away before he'd trust Deguara again.

Funny, reading that I was thinking about Deguara in that playoff game before you brought it up. It looked like the Niners knew how that went and just stopped covering him so they could triple team Davante.

If they have trouble or a losing streak, the NY media is going to have a field day

😆

I'm going to have to tune in to hard knocks for the first time ever. 😁

Yes, I've never seen a guy so wide open time after time and yet Rodgers refusing to throw him the ball. There was one time I distinctly remember when Rodgers looked right at him full-on, no one within at least five yards, a short, safe throw, and Rodgers turned his head and went elsewhere. At that point, Deguara might as well have gone home. Embarrassing for Deguara.

Jets veteran WR Corey Davis announces he’s “walking away” from the NFL.

He struggled staying healthy but that was a still a veteran Rodgers would have benefited having around. Cobb can’t stay healthy either and the Jets depth at WR isn’t great.

Lazard also got hurt today in practice. Seen limping off with an ankle injury

Well, I was laughing at AR wanting the Jets. Lack of weapons, and a mess at OL.

I think Rodgers wanted out of GB, most of all. His list of teams he would have gone to was larger than the list of teams that wanted him. I think he may have gone to SF, Miami, Tampa, Vegas, or Pitt if any of them had shown an immediate and serious interest. The fact was, the Jets were the only team to immediately jump in seriously for him and once he said he wanted to go to NYJ, any other, even mild interest. dried up.

And afterwards the Rodgers butt kissers blamed everyone but the guy handling the ball on every down for the team’s inability to score more that 10 points.

Learning the hand signals is hard work. Not for everyone.

I got Jets at 5-2 in first 7 games.

I believe Rodgers will help out that O-Line with the quick release. He has to. Especially getting quick passes to guys like Breeze Hall.

The question will be avoiding major injuries. We'll see what Hackett and Rodgers have left in the tank to score points. Because I think that defense is going to keep them in games. Then all it takes is one play by the offense to win it. Defense and running game is a proven effective way to win in the NFL.

If 8 can stay healthy I think the Jets are probably the best team in the AFC behind KC and Cincy.

But that’s the thing.  Rodgers isn’t a young guy anymore and I still have concerns about that OL.

Selfishly, I don’t want him to get injured because we need that 1st rounder.
