It makes me wonder why he hasn't been included in any of the MVP speculations.
I realize that a lack of victories hurts his chances, but if there is a list of QBs who are playing better than he is, it would have to be a very short list.

JMHO, others may vary.

It has everything to do with the win total.....

Lamar is winning the MVP, not Mr. Irrelevant.

Can you imagine Jordan Love in the San Francisco offense? Every other fan would be crying their eyes out..... And Lamar would not be sniffing the MVP

He got hot too late. Remember, even diehard Packer fans wanted him benched halfway through. The late game ints were at the forefront of people's minds. Unfairly, I might add.

This is the Hero's Journey, not a short story.  Love has trials to face, sometimes to fail and then overcome.  And those who say the Packers don't deserve to be in the playoffs are defining them by their worst moments, rather than giving the team a chance to rise above them.  The current goal is to make the playoffs.  They may not win, but as with Lombardi, the next goal will be to never lose another playoff game.  Striving for perfection and maybe achieving excellence on the way.  MVPs may be in Love's future, but he's not at that part of the journey yet.  But the beginning of this story has been fun to watch.

I love the way he’s been coming through recently on nationally broadcast games like Lions, Chiefs and Vikings. The rest of the league gets to see how he’s performing and he’ll be on that top 100 list next year.

Realistically this team could have 2 or 3 more wins.  Not sure they would have been able to catch Detroit for the division, but the key this season was for Love to get reps and show improvement.  I think by any objective measure he’s met or exceeded expectations.

In a normal season we’d all be talking about the play of the WRs and TEs but Love clearly is the biggest positive development not only for this year but likely for many future seasons.

They will have some difficult choices to make specifically with Bak and Aaron Jones and maybe Jaire, but if Love is really the guy it sure takes a lot of the pressure off how they improve and enhance what looks like a very good young roster.

Bahk is a no brainer.   He gone.

Jones is a no brainer- he stays.  We let him walk next year and then get the comp pick  Plus, he’s still one of the best backs in the NFL for 8-10 games

Ja is the tough one.   If he shows any signs of not being team first, trade his ass.

Bakhtiari may consider a restructure/extension after seeing this team grow, and if Gutekunst/Ball offer it. If he is healthy, he is one of the best. More likely, they see if they can find a trade partner.

I don't see Jaire going anywhere. He's an odd duck, always has been. The message was sent and I expect he got it.

Jones will need another contract redo. I'm intrigued what a healthy Wilson looks like in 2024 and the draftee that is certain to be added.

I hope they work something out with Aaron Jones. We have a different offense with him in the mix.

Yeah, work out a deal that's effectively 2 years. Move on from Dillon. Draft 1 or 2 RB's in round 4 or later. Rinse and repeat.

I know they can't do it now but would anyone object to the Packers signing Love to a franchise QB extension right now? Not a market reset deal but something that's comparable today to what Rodgers got in 2008. I would not object. I've seen enough.

I believe they cannot do any contract extension, negotiation, or new contract until May 2024.

May 2. Not sure if they can work it out with the agent in advance or not. I do worry that if we jack up his salary we won't have enough to pay all the other talent that will deserve big paydays.

Can't be described any better. When most of us watched Brett's first start against the Stillers so long ago, no one had any idea how it would turn out. All I knew is he quickly demonstrated that he was in the fight. That he would battle and compete through good, bad and ugly. Three years into his stint, Holmgren was one rocket ball away from going to Brunell. And even well beyond the point where it was clear he was the guy, there were still a ton of head scratching, wtf moments. That's pretty much the story of his career.

I know we're living in much more of a knee-jerk, overreact first and think about it later climate. But the issues we've seen with Love this year aren't all that different than what Favre and Rodgers had to go through. Mistakes must be made to evaluate whether your guy is capable of learning and overcoming them. I wouldn't even hazard a guess how many game ending int's Favre tossed all those years. A handful from Love in such a tumultuous year really should not have sharpened the pitchforks and stoked the torches from Packer fans who've been through it before. This is the process.

If we really need to compare, I think we should also be willing to look at the many positive intangibles Love possesses right now compared to the previous two hof guys. Namely, in his poise and presence regardless of situation, and even more so in his ability and willingness to make plays when everything is stacked against this offense. If this is what we can come to expect from this kid, reliably, the journey will be it's own reward. It's been a blast watching all the young bucks so far this season.

Somewhere Joseph Campbell is smiling.

According to Pro Football Focus, he is …

  • 1st in total touchdowns from scrimmage (18)
  • 3rd in passing yards (1,834)
  • 5th in completion percentage (min. 100 pass attempts)
  • T-2nd in big-time throws (17)
  • T-1st in total first downs converted (98)
  • 2nd in passer rating (109.9, min. 100 pass attempts)

Jordan Love is not the MVP.....nor should he be...

But after that performance against the Vikings, he should certainly be in the conversation.

Passing the ball to Bo "effing" Melton. He is making the players around him better and that is what an MVP does.

If the Packers had 13 wins I can guarantee you he would be getting some votes.

Jordan Love is the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 256 yards and scoring four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) vs. Minnesota.

First time a #Packers player has captured NFC Offensive POTW honors since Aaron Rodgers (Week 15 vs. Baltimore, 2021).
