Guessing MLF promotes either Getsy or Steno to OC if Hack leaves...whoever doesn't get job joins Hack in Denver

In other words, Hackett has a second interview, as do Quinn and O’Connell….which everybody already knows.

@MikeGarafolo:  The #Bears are working on a deal with Ryan Poles (Chiefs executive director of player personnel) as their next GM and are trying to close it out, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Still talks to come with Poles, who is at the team facility, but the team’s hope is it gets done before Poles’ interview with the #Vikings tomorrow.

@AdamSchefter: Former Lions and Colts’ HC Jim Caldwell is in the Bears’ building today. Matching the experienced Caldwell with the upstart Ryan Poles is a gameplan that some around the league now believe the Bears easily could deploy.

@RapSheet:  The #Vikings are now expected to work to hire #Browns  executive Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as their next GM, sources say. He’s the final finalist and they have been interviewing him again.

Holy shit, the Vikings have hired a Ghanaian. Too bad I’ll have to root hard against a fellow Ghanaian. Maybe they’ll fire him and let him go to a real team.😢

To be fair, you always hated it when the press tried to use Charlie Peprah's grandfather to pull at fans' heartstrings.

That's the ticket...hire an ops guy instead of a personnel guy... SKOLOLOLOLOLOL

Wow I just checked the Saints 2022 cap situation and holy sh*t, it is a disaster.  $75m over the cap with no easy way to get under the cap.  No wonder Sean Payton called it quits.

Interesting to see what happens with Payton.  Maybe Dallas trades a pick to New Orleans and replaced MM in 2023?

There it is- Hackett appears gone.

Good for him...offense will remain the same since MLF calls the plays. OC is essentially a figurehead. Whether it's Getsy or Steno, there will be no drop-off.

Hopefully he has more success as a HC than his slapdick father did.

If this is the case, and I suspect it is, I wonder who he is going to have as his Special Teams Co-ordinator? Certainly won't be taking Drayton with him. So LaFleur better extract this information from him fast and get Hackett's choice signed up first!

There will be plenty of speculation that Hackett's hiring is laying the groundwork for a Rodgers (and possibly Adams) trade. While I am sure Hackett is a hire they may have made regardless, you can't help but wonder if this a carrot to appease Rodgers should the Packers FO want to start the Love era and collect multiple high picks from Denver.

Will Hackett have full control over player personel?  Everybody know Rodgers loves Hackett, but do we know that Hackett loves Rodgers?  He's had a front row seat to see the Rodgers last 2 home playoff failures.

The dude sounds impressive. If he commits to listening to the scouts he could be good. BUT, like so many brilliant people he’ll fall in love with analytics, ignoring valuable common sense.

It kind of works in baseball...moneyball...sabermetrics...etc....but just doesn't seem to have translated to the NFL.

Russ Ballz is a pretty impressive dude on paper...not sure I'd want him running my team.

LaFleur can block position coaches from leaving, can't he?  He may not do that since he did say he wants all of his staff to have advancement opportunities.  But if Hackett raids multiple coaches on MLF's staff, that's kind of a dick move.

If Rodgers goes to Denver this was in the works a long time. There was obviously a lot of smoke about Denver on draft day last year. Maybe that's what all of last offseason really was. Rodgers wanted to go there and thought it was a done deal before the draft. Then it didn't happen and the news of his anger at the Packers FO was leaked right before the draft in a desperation move to get the deal done.

Once it didn't happen, Rodgers essentially does a soft holdout and the Packers tell him he's either playing for them or no one in 2021. He caves and comes back, but he knows he's just biding time for the 2022 move. He plays this season like he's a college guy that knows it's his last year before moving on.

You mention assistant coaches going there, but if Rodgers ends up there, how many players (besides Adams) end up there as well? Tonyan, MVS, Cobb, etc.? Hackett will probably raid some of those guys anyway for the familiarity with the offense.
