The Packers are signing long-snapper Jesse Schmitt. It was not immediately clear whether they are making a change or if they're bringing in competition for Rick Lovato, who came in late last season after Brett Goode's knee injury. They have one open roster, so they wouldn't have to release Lovato if they didn't want to. Schmitt, a first-year player from Purdue, had a tryout with the Vikings in their rookie camp last year. Meanwhile, Brett Goode continues to rehab his knee with the hope that he will be signed before Week 1.
Rodgers on rhythm with #Packers WR Jordy Nelson: "I know what he's all about. I can throw to him to spots probably with my eyes closed."
I assumed that AR was referring to next Monday for possible Jordy return
Jared Cook, Sam Barrington and Ty Montgomery WILL practice tonight. They're back. #Packers

Plan all along was for #Packers TE Jared Cook to return for second preseason week. Absence early in camp just precaution.

Was this one of the changes implemented by Clements? Last season is starting to make more sense.
"I feel good about where all of our players are," McCarthy said. "It will be great to see Jared out there working. I know heâs excited about it."

Looks like Bostick on special teams.
Two snaps in and new snapper Jesse Schmitt appears to have gotten hurt. They're looking at his right hand.
Odds
#Packers will re-sign LS Brett Goode before season starts: very good based on bad punt snaps tonight from Lovato and Pierce.
Geez Abby lights it up again.
During WR vs CB period before team no huddle, Abbrederis had another phenomenal one handed grab on sideline #PackersCamp
Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Montgomery, Abbrederis. If healthy that's a solid group.
Then you have Davis and Allison, that's a deep group of WRs.
First Nations Pride...
Geronimo Allison with yet another great catch. Back shoulder from Williams for a TD on Hawkins.
Third play of 11-on-11: Aaron Rodgers up the seam to Jared Cook for a big gain.
So the Packer LBs can't cover TEs.
Wes Hodkiewicz: Defense bites on fake to Lacy in goal line, 12 rolls out to hit Cook on uncontested TD.
Filthy.
Kenny Clark just got into Lane Taylor's chest two plays in a row and drove him right into QB's stride area.

Jared Cook has looked fantastic tonight. Just caught another TD from Rodgers. #Packers must be excited about the possibilities with him.

Montgomery looks quick and explosive in first practice back. Seems confident
Montgomery strikes again. TD on move from Callahan.
This whole Aaron Rodgers-Jared Cook thing looks pretty good so far. They have about four huge plays/touchdowns. It's really impressive.

We've been seeing that a lot over the past several years. AJ Hawk desperately in chase.
With God as my witness...if there is one broken toe or contusion from this drill somebody is going to look awfully stoopid here.
Whatever. What do I know.
Randall Cobb successfully handled the "brick drill" this time. In OTAs he dropped it, it broke, had to buy a new one
Whatever. What do I know.
You said it.
I'll trust the guy, you know, who they hired to be WR coach that he knows what he's doing just a tad more.
Defense might be seeing the best offense they'll face in 2016. With Jordy watching. Important Mike keeps the offense full throttle and attacks from every angle. If this defense can slow this bullet train down, things are good.
Likely '0' un-scouted looks out there.
Wonder what Janice could fetch in a trade.
Brilliant pass from Rodgers to Cobb 20 yards down field with Cobb coming on a cross. Microscopic window

He wouldn't fetch anything if he runs the wrong way.
Yes, yes it was...
We've seen a few snaps with Cobb in the backfield. Now Montgomery gets a shot. Their flexibility was a big part of offense before injury.
Have no idea what you are talking about cuqui.

Beat me to it.
Why does it feel like the seasons going to end great?
Different vibe. Not desperation. Not superiority. Questioned. Feels like Herb Brooks "Not tonight" speech in Miracle.
They'll be in the mix again. As always. But this definitely feels different.
If they can stay mostly healthy, there is no reason this offense can't rack up around 30 points a game. And that would take a lot of pressure off the D.
Jerry Rice used to tell a story about when he was growing up he would have to catching bricks when he would work for his dad (a bricklayer) and attributed that with how he developed his great hands. I am imagining it has something to do with that drill.
Apparently Janis! had a rough night. Many fans appear to believe that his ST work is good enough to overcome any inadequacies at WR. There's too much young talent at the position and I'm not sure that's a safe assumption to make.
