What has happened to the S/LB hybrid position? It was all the rage and talk last year heading into this year, and I haven't heard/read another word about since.
Not just the Packers but league-wide.
Thoughts?

Well, they brought in Josh Jones to be that guy. And, uh, well he kind of sucks.

Also not sure if Pettine sees the value that Capers did in that hybrid position.

Would be a little tough for both the Packers and Jets to lose out the rest of the season.

Dammit,  I meant if the Jets and 9ers win out. In addition, I believe a Lions win  @ GB (assuming the Lions and Packers lose this week) would mean the Packers leap frog the Lions in draft order. 5-10-1 vs 6-10 with the Lions owning tie breaker.

I don't think Pettine sees the value in that hybrid. What's the purpose? Too light to be near the LOS without getting obliterated, and nearer to the LOS means one less in coverage. The hybrid as Dom used him seemed like that rover outfielder in softball; "hang out here just in case something comes your way." I'd rather have everyone assignment-sure and playing to strengths.

Lose Green Bay Lose!

Seriously. Pastor Philbin lecturing the team on being "professional" and playing to win is nonsense.  No one wants it except him, and it helps no one at all but him.  Maybe some stat-whore players.

There might be an 8 year-old boy somewhere getting ready to go to the last home game that wants them to win.  Even then I bet Dad could set him straight.

Rodgers needs to throw the ball away if a defender come within 3 feet of him.  Better yet get "sick."  Who's going to fine him?  The League?  I think he can afford it.

Who's going to tell AR to get sick?  If AR wants to play, he plays.  Philbin may ask him to take a few weeks off but no way does he make him.

Philbin is on record saying he told all the players he expects them to be professional and play to win.  That's what I was addressing.  He's not sitting AR or anyone else. That presumably means Rodgers plays all 4 quarters of both remaining games.

In my opinion that is not for the good of the team in any way, shape or form.

I hope Jaymo lives in the apartment below her.

Im guessing it’s his wife

Lincoln Riley is an offensive savant. Nick Saban is cut from the Belichick and Parcell defense and special teams first tree.

This is going to be a crazy good game.

I think Nick wins another but Lincoln is going to stress every bit of his coaching ability.

Not saying either is coaching GB next year. But play close attention to this game. This is coaching genius. There is a filthy load of talent on display tonight. Bama OL. OK WR. Kyler Murray. Tua.

Winner gets the best DL in the country in Clemson.

Should be fun.

Coaching matters, in Sept/Oct Clemson looked vulnerable. Now they look like one of the top 2 teams in college football.  And Dabo is saying this is the best team he's coached. Impressive.

Looking forward to see if Oklahoma can run with the Tide. Might have to play some defense.

First half analysis:
OU not having a defense is once again catching up to them. You can win a lot of games by scoring 40+ points, but you can lose all of them when you allow 40+.

I admit I know nothing about Riley, but I don't see anything particularly jeenyoos.

UA is proving the trenches are where games are won.

#12 and #32 overall pick

Should be be so inclined, that's enough to move into the 5th spot, or we throw in a late rounder and can get to the 4th spot.

Some of the top picks from #12 overall spot...

2017 - Deshaun Watson
2014 - Odell Beckham Jr
2012 - Fletcher Cox
2008 - Ryan Clady
2007 - Marshawn Lynch
2006 - Haloti Ngata
2005 - Shawn Merriman
2004 - Jonathan Vilma

According to this ESPN Stat geek we are at #10 now...

Picking in the top ten in every round. Can’t dismiss the signifance of that. If Gutenschnizal can hit on say 4 picks, it could change the direction of the franchise in a single draft.

If nothing else, today’s game continued to show how vast the talent gap is on this team.

ALOT of needs.

1a - WR

1b- WR

2- Offensive lineman from a small school

3- DL who played in a three point stance all year but we project him to work the edge standing upright

4a- safety who will end up a hall of famer

4b- WR

5- Punter
