I think there are too many question marks at DT, outside of Kenny Clarke, to go through this draft without taking one. Whenever I do a  mock, and skip DT early, I keep seeing Hamilton there in round 4, waiting to get picked.

Walker is a stud.

Walker is 6' 3", 230lbs. That makes him an off-ball linebacker. His combine numbers were good, not spectacular, but he is certainly athletic, with a penchant for making plays in the backfield. He lined up at edge for Fresno State.

PFF grades him as a 7th rounder/UDFA. I can't post their material...just passing on to you what they say about him. He's graded as a project at ILB.

I highly recommend getting their draft guide. It's very good, and much more informative than, say, Lindy's, which we can buy at the store. I do like Lindy's, too...just not as informative, and their info is pre-combine. When you subscribe to PFF, you get a whole lot, plus you can download the guide. For $30, it's well worth it. 👍

I would go for Logan Wilson over Walker, but you'd have to draft him, probably in the 5th round, maybe could get him early 6th. There aren't a lot of decent linebackers in this class, so getting one may take a bit of over-drafting one, or some deft manuevering. I'll trust our GM on that...😉

Ball St OL Danny Pinter

Keep an eye on this guy for a R3 or R4 pick depending on how things play out early. Sounds like an ideal ZBS OL and is a name I’ve seen on twitter being tossed around the last few days.

Also I think Alabama DE Terrel Lewis is going to be a guy that drops with his injury history. He’s similar to Gary in that he’s an elite H/W/S prospect, but it’s truly only been injuries that have held him back. Gute seems intent on buying low on quality players with defects, wouldn’t surprised if Lewis is the guy in R2.

Lewis would be a risky pick in round two with his injury history, IMO. There's no denying his potential, but I wouldn't take that risk, not with Z and P already at OLB, and Gary, besides. We do need another pass rusher to replace Fackrell, but I think that probably comes later in the draft.

Higgins is long but he isn't very fast and he isn't quick.

Diggs fits the bill for size at his position. Would like to see what he can run but think he's fast enough.

The tiny little ILB? No.

Proche?  No. Small WR with short arms and not very explosive.

As strange as it might seem, I could see Taylor work in the Packers offense with Jones.  Either can run the ball, Taylor improved in his receiving and we've seen Mayo split Jones out wide before.  More dynamic players on offense is never a bad thing, regardless of position.  Reagor and Biadasz would be awesome adds as well.  But I don't know if they can not take a good ILB early.

Taylor fumbles too much. Bad asz good name for a center. 

Build your OL, you can find very serviceable RB in the 4-7th rounds. Ask the 49ers.

I'm not sure Funchess precludes a guy like Claypool. Claypool is going to be a hybrid Big Slot/H-Back/TE player that guys like Travis Kelce play. Sternberger is that type of player as well, so I think MLF has a type. I think MLF and Rodgers want to reduce the amount of subbing, so theoretically having talented pass catchers and high effort blockers like Stern, Claypool, Adams, and Lazard on the field 3 downs allows for crazy flexibility to catch D in the wrong personnel and get mismatches. 57% of snaps in 2019 GB used 2 WR or less. 

I would think, perhaps wrongly, that the team would want to round out the receiving unit with a different type of player.

You know this is my favorite time of the year; all the speculation, wishing and hoping-proseltyzing it makes the wait for real football managable.  One thing and it is my pet rock for the last few years is analytics and projections.  I have said before, I once heard when you draft an orange and try to make it a grapefuit usually you get a lemon- but the more I bemoan the he’s got great length and his speed and 3 cone time is in top 2%  and RAS scores and what ever newest and cutest fad is I still think about this old teacher we had from Alabama when I was in high-school.  Now until the military summoned me he was the largest black man I had ever seen.   He was the O-line coach on our football team and he would say “ Fuutball is a skeel,  strong and fast is impotent but you need Skeel."  Now as one of those who was not strong and fast and also lacked the prerequisite “ skeel “ to succeed at football I laughed at the deep southern accent but after a lifetime of watching football I have come to agree that football is a skill.  How many Orien Burks, Jason Spriggs and Josh Jones will we draft before the “ Looks like Tarzan- plays like Jane “ sinks in.

Looking some opinions online and looking at some of the players myself, here are the top 10 players I believe GB will have to choose from:

• Xavier McKinney/S/Alabama
• Ross Blacklock/DT/TCU
• AJ Epenesa/Edge/Iowa
• Tee Higgins/WR/Clemson
• Jaylon Johnson/CB/Utah
• Clyde Edwards-Helaire/RB/LSU
• Grant Delpit/S/LSU
• Marlon Davidson/Edge/Auburn
• Jonathan Taylor/RB/Wisconsin
• Laviska Shenault/WR/Colorado

With that in mind I think our R1 pick will really set the tone for the rest of the draft. Here's how I think the draft shakes out IMO based on value, need, and scheme fit:

• R1: Tee Higgins/WR/Clemson
• R2 (from PIT): Malik Harrison/LB/Ohio St.
• R3: To PIT (Pick 62, 94 for Pick 54)
• R4: Danny Pinter/OT/Ball St.
• R5: Darrion Daniels/NT/Nebraska
• R6: Joe Reed/WR/Virginia
• R6: Jon Runyan/OT/Michigan
• R6: Javelin Guidry/CB/Utah
• R7: Stephen Sullivan/TE/LSU
• R7: Geno Stone/S/Iowa

I think Higgins is a good fit obviously from a need standpoint, but he's a really high upside prospect. Tall, athletic, high points well, high character. I think he has AJ Green/Michael Thomas upside, Rodgers could have fun throwing to him. I see him on the perimeter sucking Safety help away from the middle.

Harrison is just a good all around linebacker in the mold of Bobby Wagner, but closer to Karlos Dansby overall as a prospect. I think he pairs well with Kirksey and really makes a difference on our D...that's why I would move up to get him.

Pinter and Runyan are good looking multi-position players in the ZBS, I think Pinter actually has a lot of Bulaga in him.

Daniels is a monster specimen who needs to get in better shape, but immediately reminds you of Grady Jackson. Men that size shouldn't move that well.

Reed and Sullivan look like developmental guys who could be really good depth.

Guidry is 4.30 fast and could be a ST weapon with Ervin, and Stone looks like he will be an ST ace in the NFL.

Yeah, I like Davis-Gaither. But otherwise it’s yuck city, players-wise. We’re it falling like that, I’d rather see Terrell or Jaylon Johnson in Round 1, Isaiah Wilson Round 2 (or trade up a few spots for Aiyuk), AD-G 3 and Bowden over Proche in round 4.

I like Isaiah Wilson. They say he'll need help in space, but I like everything else he brings...

I like that draft, but I would take Pittman over Higgins, although now that I review Higgins, he's a no- brainer at 30. Look for Jordan Elliott, if he's on the board in Rd 2...maybe even in the 1st (but not over Higgins). Move up in the late 2nd, or early 3rd for Harrison. Logan Wilson would be a later look at ILB. Pinter can get drafted later, I think...definitely someone to keep an eye on.

I like RB Antonio Gibson in the 4th. Joe Reed is a good WR in the 6th.

Cornerback I like late is Reggie Robinson II, and Guidry is uber-fast.

I think maybe one of the Davis brothers might be a better pick than Daniels from Nebraska.

And, at TE, I think I would go for Keene over Sullivan.

A big, fast safety wouldn't hurt, either. Someone like Muse, late, or Chinn, early. Stone looks good, too, but his 40 time was lackluster.

I'm not a huge Logan Wilson fan. I think he's a late Day 3 player, likely just depth and ST ace. Maybe an AJ Klein upside, which isn't bad because Klein is a good player. I wouldn't hedge my bets on either, Harrison will be a difference maker IMO.

Daniels seems like a really interesting developmental specimen. He lost some weight for the combine I think, I would guess he played closer to 330 at Nebraska by the look of him. Getting some Grady Jackson vibes, a lot of BJ Raji though. His father Tony also apparently played briefly for the Packers. 

Sullivan has some Marcedes Lewis vibes, good mover for his size. Could be a guy to develop. Hard to tell if LSU underused him because he's not good or because they have 4 other elite pass catchers at WR who took targets from him.

Stone has some Micah Hyde in him, good heady player. Lack of speed shows up, but his instincts are elite and allows him to be successful. He will be a really quality ST player.

McShart latest mock has Packers taking Clemson WR Tee Higgins at #30 and Florida State RB Cam Akers in the 2nd at #62...he has both Mims and Pittman, two WR who fit the Packers WR mold to a T, way more than Higgins, going in the 2nd round.

McShart used to have a higher level of credibility than most of these humps, but he has degraded into another shit-flinger to just see what sticks on the wall.
