Wow good find. Serious Donald Driver coming off this kid...serious speed also. Good routes, great instincts with the ball in his hands, plenty fast...that's a pretty good foundation, hopefully he's got the mental edge to stick. The rest can be taught, but that edge is what separates guys. Love him R5 or lower.

Very tough, mentally.  His coaches and teammates always said he was hardest worker on a team that included Jamir Jones, who played at ND, and a QB who picked Penn St. over Mich. St.  Was also a standout basketball player. Great kid and even better athlete.  Driver comparison is Interesting.  I also see a little Julian Edelman too.

Silverstein says Cephus ran a laser-timed 4.56 forty.

I think Stern can play. I actually think trading for Hurst makes the most sense. He's really talented and would make a good 1-2  punch with Stern. 2 good TEs is a much better situation than 1 TE.

Is it better to have two TE's and (say) lack solid acquisitions at ILB, WR, OT, and DE?

Really?

I'm not sure why it's an either/or situation? Trading a mid-round pick for a 3rd string TE that probably could be a starter (Ravens are stacked at TE) doesn't disqualify us from drafting or signing any of those positions.

It's not so much that it's not a primary need. It's not even a secondary need.

Regarding JT, a talent that great, sometimes you just have to say wtf and do it.  Just saying.

Can we even say this guy is clearly better than Jones? I can't say that yet.

Seems like they intend to keep Jones (and maybe even Williams) around for another 4 years. Drafting Taylor at 30 makes slightly more sense than drafting a QB which makes no sense at all.

How"s this for a mock draft? I think it covers all the bases.

My friend was going to Vegas with a large group of people to support Tristan Wirfs. They have already cancelled their trip. Even if they do allow an audience (doubtful) it's going to be a lot smaller than usual.

I thought you were aiming higher with what # draft pick to consider using for a TE.

I think people would have to look out for my bodily fluids in the air if rounds 1-5 went like that.

LoL, you want WR and ILB fixed?

The board is fun because it has trades, but the trade offers can be a bit ridiculous. Their points system doesn't reward you for taking the realistic trades, it rewards you for taking advantage of the glitches.

I like them both but would rather have Harrison, he had the 6th best 3 cone time of anyone at any position at the combine. Heard Gil Brant say that in history of combine something like 95% of the players who ran under 7.0 in 3 cone made it in the NFL.

I think Brooks would be a great value in R3 for GB, but I would hope a better value player like Harrison is there in R2. Brooks is a headhunter and a thumper like Des Bishop, Harrison is huge athlete like Karlos Dansby.

I like both, everything depends on what happens in R1 and when guys are available. If we took WR Jefferson or OT Jackson in R1 and Harrison is available ~50, I would move up from 62 to get him. He’s going to be a good pro, he’s polished and heady. Go get your guy...I actually think he and Blake Martinez would make a pretty good tandem. I wouldn’t trade up in R3 for Brooks, but I would take him if we don’t take an ILB earlier. He would be good to pair with a vet ILB like Schobert or Littleton. I don’t think Brooks is the total package as an ILB, I want to see more control and football IQ from him, he’s a wild headhunter.

I’m good with that. There had gotten to be a lot of slop in coverage, especially around the on-site shenanigans. This is a chance to try something else while not taking heat for trying something else. Might we dream of better pick/prospect coverage after round 1?

Here’s the announcement from the league.

They could save money by holding this years draft in an empty field in Kansas or Nebraska. It couldn't cost as much as holding it in Vegas.

My gut says Gutey is saving his ducats to extend Clark and Bakh hence he's not going balls to the wall this year in FA. I also feel like he's going look to trade back in round 1 and stack some higher value picks. They have 6 picks in rounds 6 and 7...I'd bet he will use those to sweeten pots to move up when there is a player he wants.

Right now this team is top heavy on talent. He's hit on some young guys like Savage, Jenkins, etc. however there are a whole lot of wasted picks he has to make up for to build depth. This draft needs to address that.

He'll need more than his 6-7RD swings to move back into RD1, if that's what you meant.  Those 11th hour picks aren't worth a whole lot in trade value.  Maybe it moves him several spots up in RD2 or RD3.

I agree...the 6ths and 7ths are ok, but not worth a whole lot, unless you're talking about manuevering in the mid rounds.

I think their true value is landing players who have slipped through the cracks, or finding some special teams aces who might develop later on.

Exactly!

Get above the Ravens in round 3 -- swear to Christ they always seem to grab the player the Packers want.

Bills grabbed Tredavious White & caused Pack to trade down to draft Kevin King.

Just did some calculations based on draft value charts...

Pick #94 (our 3rd), 175 (5th) and 192 (6th) would enable us to move up 3 or 4 spots in the 3rd ahead of Tennessee, Baltimore, Raiders and Houston. If there is a clear player they want, it may be worth it.

You're right...makes me just want to pummel their ass when we play them...lol

Oof.  the Steelers with 1 pick in the top 100. Also nice to see the Bores with no 1st rounder again.

Of the top LB, Baun is probably the best combo of afleticism and brains. They know he can play OLB or with his hand in the dirt, the question they need to answer is can he play where they need him to play...if so he's gotta be in more serious consideration than Queen or Murray given it's like having another coach on the field.

I have a feeling he may be going to the Raiders or Ravens before we pick though.

you think the raiders would pick a lb with the 2 new fa dudes?  i think both murray and queen will be gone - baun is a maybe, my thing is - is he fast enough to cover a leaking back? i am not worried about run stuffing with him.

I'm sure people didn't think the Packers would take Gary after signing Smiff Bros. and look what happened.

Baun ran his 40 similar to CM3...4.65...no it's not as fast as Murray or Queen, but if he has better anticipation and knows how to play angles, that speed difference is quickly negated.

I'd rather have a slightly slower smert guy than a fast dum-dum.

Blake is also known as a slower smart guy. We'd only be getting younger at the position. Not the worst thing in the world.

A lot would depend on the board at that point in time, I guess.
