Interesting mock. Collins going the Saints one pick ahead of us.
Toney is an intriguing option. Is he a boom or bust pick? What is his injury history? There's no doubt he can light up the field. The question of route running comes to mind.
One of the tough things about running mocks is the boards. One will have a guy as a seventh, while the other has him as a second. Some are even missing guys. TDN Hedges by having rankings and predictive, Fanspeak has their wad of randos. PFF has only their ranking, but does have trades and some settings. For them I run (from center) positional value +2, Random -1 and needs +1.
I kludged together a "boring" one trying to cover needs as well as possible using mainly TDN with player rankings. I went for steady rather than exciting.
29. Jalen Mayfield - OT Michigan - Young guy with boatload of talent. Could be an anchor for a decade at either spot.
62. Trill Williams - CB Syracuse - One of the top three picks almost needs to be a corner because they often run dry by the mid-fourth on everything but PFF.
92. Jay Tufele - IDL USC - Wanted a gadget guy here like Amari Rodgers or Demetric Felton, but need won out.
135. Tay Gowan - CB UCF - Long, fast and announced early he was opting out, so his value may drop some.
142. Simi Fehoko - WR Stanford - Stronger MVS with hands, though maybe not quite as fast.
173. Quinn Meinerz - C UW-Whitewater - Was looking at Josh Myers from Ohio State but I think he goes earlier.
178. Jermar Jefferson - A gadget back to replace Ervin.
214. Khyris Tonga- IDL BYU - Raw, athletic beef, if he's still there, otherwise maybe Isaiah Lowdermilk or Darius Stills as more of a pass rusher type.
220. Nick Niemann - LB Iowa - because apparently the Packers don't really care about the position.
256. Jamar Watson - OLB Kentucky - I think this is way too low but the consensus on most of the boards seems to be he's a late niche guy. I liken him to Leon Jacobs, who can rush, cover and play great special teams though may not be great as a traditional linebacker playing the run.

Toney would be an interesting pick at #29, but I wouldn't pass on DL Barmore who went after Toney, in this mock.
Mayfield is honestly one of the most realistic picks. Heβs super young, not scratched the surface of his potential, plays a premium position, and itβs a position of need.
OL and CB seem like the most logical early draft selections.
If Teven Jenkins is there at 29, how would feel about taking him?
Jenkins is a fine prospect, probably will be a successful RT. My only concern is that heβs 23 and heβs probably already not too far from his ceiling. Idk how much of a real concern that is, but I think it plays a part in Guteβs R1 decision making. Mayfield will have almost 3 years in the NFL by the time heβs Jenkins age!
The first round Tackles all look pretty solid, but this guy is going to be one of the best values in the draft. Guy is an absolute people mover, looks perfect for this scheme. See a lot of talk about mid-rounds for him, but I think if GB wants him they have to grab him in R3.
GD, he does remind me of Bakh who for reasons unclear to me went in the fourth round.... I concur he won't last past our third round pick...
I like him, too, but he's also 23.

Because Bahk was unathletic, whatever that means. I get he wasn't strong enough, but strength can be added.
"He gets beat around the edge without slowing the rusher down and will lose ground against stiff contact due to not having the ability to sit down and anchor. A move to Guard is likely in his future"
Fucking clueless.
Why doesn't my phone ring each year? I can run a 40. I could break the glass ceiling for 60+ men everywhere.

Younger than Taysom Hill was as a rookie
My favorite CB in the draft...but he will be long gone by 20 so moving up probably cost-prohibitive...

His tape is good...he sure moves well.
Micah Parsons?
This takes me to an article about Rodgers...where is the Parsons reference?
Scroll down to the second article (mock draft).
I don't think they hold Parsons' positional value high enough even if he's there. Where I think Zaven Collins is a chess piece you can move around on the defense, Parsons is a guy you "plop down" in the middle and everyone moves around him.
Thanks, but the one mock I did find on there has us reaching for Jamin Davis... π
If an OT falls to us, please let it be Sam Cosmi from Texas...I get the same warm fuzzy watching his film as I did Elgton...can play at least 4 spots on the OL, either guard, either tackle.
Parsons just ran a 4.39 40...rediculously fast...
Cosmi is R1 guy. I wish he would have come out last year. Reminds of Bulaga.

He got a perfect 10 RAS. Might shoot him into the top ten.
He could go to Whiners at 12, he would certainly go to Colts at 24 if there...Titans may be a trade partner for us at 22...which will cost a lot...like two fourths or a 3rd I'm guessing
Maybe we can give them Kevin King.

If he's a sure-fire player, it would be worth it, just like Jaire.
Maybe we can give them KeLvin King. Forgot the L.
WR Elijah Moore posted a 4.34 40 today...
when I see OL and big prototype, I keep thinking about jason spriggs.
@YATittle posted:Interesting mock. Collins going the Saints one pick ahead of us.
Collins just seems like his potential is so intriguing that he wouldnβt last all the way to 29. Plus the Pack just seems to downplay his position and I wouldnβt think they would move up for him specifically. You never know, but Iβd be surprised if he ends up in GB.

Same here...
Iβve surprisingly enjoyed listening to Chris Simms and Mike Florio talk about the draft on my lengthy commutes from Metro Milwaukee to downtown Madison for work.
Simms thinks the Virginia Tech CB Farley will be at Jalen Ramseyβs level. He talks up the Georgia CB Tyson Campbell quite a bit too. Would be nice if a top level CB dropped to 29 but usually the really good ones are typically snapped up before that point.

You mean the guys with "potential"?
Draft guys who can play, not look pretty.
Just read CB Farley just had a βminorβ back surgery. Maybe he would drop a bit in terms of draft status with that news. That said, maybe the Pack would shy away from him too even with a high upside if healthy.
