Too bad for you. Unreal diving catch by Amari, but probably from a scrimmage which is a no no.

I wonder where he might have picked up on that kind of effort?

And doing things that are a no no as a rookie? Things like running a kickoff out of the EZ when you are 8 or 9 yards deep? Hmmmmm....

Slaton flashing pass rush

My concern is Slaton getting pigeonholed into a slob run stopper.  I actually think he may have more upside as a pass rusher instead of a run defender.  I also think if he's cast in a run only defense role it's going to take him a few years to contribute.

I really hope he gets some good rotation on passing downs filling that role Z was being plugged in for on the line.

Whatever has Lancaster either no longer on the team or spending most of his time planted on the bench I'm 100% behind that plan.

Yes please. I still think we need to add another Dlineman as well. Lowry and Lancaster should never see the field.

If he makes plays against whatever formation, there will be no hole, pigeon or otherwise, that can contain him.

Not sure what thread it was, but I noted that what stood out to me about him was his pass rush from the interior in college. And I am just some dum-dum...I am sure the great Joe Barruh has seen it too.

Luckily the Feather Curtain has set the bar low...he won't have to do much to outperform the Double L's

unfortunately, Schneidman pretty much sucks at his job...so I wouldn't mind if he croc'd himself into a new gig as Head Haberdasher for Douchebags.

We'll give him a little more time to assimilate into Titletown, but so far he gets an D- from this fan.

I think Lancaster should be on the first bus out of town and I would be his personal Uber to get him to the station.  Lowry to me is a rotational guy at best who can make a play every now and then.

The sad thing is Lancaster is probably their best run stuffer.

edit:  Other than Kenny of course but I would assume people would just know that.  Kind of like how Adams is phenomenal so the FO thinks they can just ignore the position.

nah, both Clark and Lowry can handle double teams better than Lancaster.
Tyler's tough and physical but doesn't have the leg strength to hold up vs combo blocks. You'd see it every time Kenny took a breather - when the the opposing OC saw Lancaster trotting on to the field, a run right at him ensued.

Hopefully TJ Slaton can change that because Clark has been forced to play too many NT snaps. He needs a break from time to time

Yah.  Neither Lancaster or Lowry can handle double teams.  Might be the reason Kenny is constantly buried with double and triple teams.  Imagine is someone worth a shit was next to Kenny.  What he might be able to do.

Lowry's whole reason for getting a contract was the ability to generate nominal pass rush and they hoped he'd go further, which he didn't.  Lancaster is there for one reason, run plays.  Neither are good.  Fact.

The defense's improvement vs. the run was a direct result of Clark getting healthier as the season progressed. 4 positions must play better for the defense to be better than last season; 1) ILBer (addition of Campbell will hopefully take care of that) 2) OLBer, Smith's were not nearly as productive as they were their first season 3) Interior D-line other that Clark, as has been mentioned 4) Second and slot CB (Stokes was drafted for this).

Aaron’s golf cart is now the fans favorite….❤️ 🥰  💚 💛

Rodgers stopped what he was doing to talk to Jacob, a kid who is having surgery and now has a signed cast from the three-time MVP, for more than five minutes. Did he have to do that? No. He’s donatedmillions and raised money for charities and local businesses just this year alone.

You can be unhappy with the way the offseason was handled by whatever side you want. You can be mad at Rodgers, you can be mad at the Packers, and you can be mad at both. But stuff like Rodgers’ golf cart puts this all in perspective. This is a fun game, and we all enjoy watching. Fans pack Lambeau Field every game, even for Family Night and preseason games that don’t exactly matter. The city of Green Bay bleeds green and gold. Nowhere else in the country does an NFL team have a whole street of painted fences outside their stadium.

Epic trolling, or problem?

Jurrell Casey is available. He's not the stud from a couple of years ago, most likely, but could likely give some good rotation snaps if his contract demands get in line.

AA FTW!

I posted this link on page 1 back on July 20.  Don't know if it got many looks, but DL Coach Montgomery thinks Dean Lowry had a really nice 2020 season after a slow start (maybe pandemic related /lack of preparation).  Says he was trending in the right direction and absolutely dominated the LOS along with KC in the NFCC.  Says he expects big things from Dean this season.

Here's the link to the video:  Jerry Montgomery on Dean Lowry

Maybe he's not as much the weak link as some say.

Larry McCarren had a segment on him last year, basically showing how he does the dirty work that doesn't generate stats.
I still don't think he has played as well as he did in 2018 and 2019, and would like to see him have more impact than what he does, but I don't think he is as bad as some (most?) make him out to be.

From SI.com:

Jordan Love’s injured shoulder isn’t major but it’s serious enough that the Green Bay Packers might have to add a quarterback to get through this week’s practices and the next preseason game.

Love’s throwing shoulder was “dinged” on Jonathan Greenard’s sack-strip late in the first half of Saturday’s loss to the Houston Texans. Afterward, Love described it as “strain-ish” and expressed confidence that he’d be ready for the upcoming game against the New York Jets.

However, while tests conducted on Sunday didn’t show a significant injury, coach Matt LaFleur said Love “potentially” could miss the Jets game.

“I think he’s doing fine,” LaFleur said. “It’s something, though, that is significant enough where he could miss a couple days of practice. We’ll see where he’s at at the end of the week, but we’re going to kind of take it day to day.”

The Packers will practice on Monday, then have joint sessions with the Jets on Wednesday and Thursday before playing the Jets on Saturday night.

With the possibility of only Kurt Benkert being available to face New York, general manager Brian Gutekunst said he and LaFleur would get together on Sunday night to discuss their options. One would be bringing back Jake Dolegala, who was signed after the minicamp on June 10 but released on July 27 after Aaron Rodgers decided to return to the team. While he spent the start of training camp with the New England Patriots, he would have a decent grasp of the system and would welcome the opportunity to play on Saturday night to get fresh game film.

“We’ll obviously protect the team, make sure we have somebody here,” Gutekunst said.

Making his long-awaited debut, Love was supposed to play the first three quarters against Houston. If the plan were to give Love three more quarters against the Jets, he’d be up to six quarters of preseason action. Instead, he might have only two quarters.

“If he ends up having to miss any time, it’ll be kind of a bummer,” Gutekunst said. “I think through the offseason, he’s taken a ton of reps with the ones and then obviously this training camp has been pretty good. And last night, it was great to see him out there and finally get some reps. It wouldn’t be ideal but, at the same time, we’re pretty hopeful he can get back here quick.”

I was actually looking forward to watching preseason games mainly to see how Love was doing. Now we may get to watch guys that would be challenged to start for most good Big 10 teams play QB in the preseason.
