Mike McKenzie was a damn good player for GB and Fred Vinson was flipped for Ahman Green.
Yes, Antuan Edwards was a turd but he was hurt and not a corner anyway.

@Goalline posted:I loved the draft. Still scratch my head every time someone bashes the Deguara pick. He looked superb before he got hurt. That block against the Vikings still makes me giggle. The only other play from 2020 that affects me is AJ Dillon’s shirt yardage TD against the Titans. That was sick!
I’m a big fan of the 4th rounder.
You could easily fill those holes with vets if your QB would take less.
Are we back to trying to fill all our holes? I thought that was last years plan.
There is never a time to not fill all your holes.
Just ask Jerry Jones. He fills the glory hole.
Lancaster got a signing bonus?????
Performance bonus update

Think Krys Barnes should have gotten more than 295K
I don't understand why Lancaster and Redmond are on the team. They are terrible.
They were signed to low dollar deals, they aren’t guaranteed to make it out of camp.

Tim Boyle got $12,715 to kneel with the ball 13 times. $1,000 a snap.
Boyle, Tim QB 2 2.0% 0.0186 1,059,520 0.150% 12,715
Found on the internet: The Buccaneers won the Super Bowl while spending more at LB than any other team. They ranked 2nd in Offensive Line spending. They ranked 20th in WR spending.

And Boyle wound up with negative yardage on those kneels.

Yes i do get that. They are just SO bad that I don't see why they would even warrant coming to camp.
They’re good measuring sticks for your roster. If those two guys are getting a lot of snaps then you’re in trouble.
That's the goofiest measuring system I've heard of.
"Hey, these guys are total shit but they're a good measuring stick. Oh good we're only mostly shitty".
So you don’t think seeing Tyler Lancaster get a bunch of snaps for us means we have an issue with DT depth?
I could've told you that without signing him to a contract. I'd rather they take flyer on a guy who could pop if we're talking about camp bodies instead of known quantity sub-JAG.
There’s no roster limit for camp until the end and he costs the minimum, so I think it’s crazy to complain about letting him compete. Take a flyer on whoever AND bring back Lancaster. And if by the end of camp he’s your best guy then it’s time to sign a free agent. And probably turnover your scouting department and pro personnel.
Hellen Keller could see that

And your GM, cap dink and president.
BUT DT's DON'T GROW ON TREES!
The ones that could compete with Lancaster do.
This is “Ankles Adams” all over again.
Lancaster is an OK rotational player and Redmond apparently signed for the vet minimum.

Do Packers need to recommit to Aaron Rodgers? An agent, scout, coach and exec weigh in
I think these are all great perspectives, its interesting the agent mentioned that they are interested in UFA's, but not until they get something worked out with Rodgers. In the end I think they're going to find a happy medium where they rework the contract, give Rodgers more control of his fate, but not handicap the team with an exorbitant guaranteed cap figure over the next 3 years. My guess is that some time in post-draft to July maybe they restructure the deal like:
Keep remaining 3 years, add 3 void years
Fully guarantee current remaining on deal: $73,850,000
Cap hits:
2021: $8,498,000 ($28,702,000 savings)
2022: $13,000,000 ($26,852,000 savings)
2023: $28,352,000 (no change)
2024: $8,000,000
2025: $8,000,000
2026: $8,000,000
Pick up Love's 5th year option (2024) which right now is like $16,500,000 so in 2024 you're basically spending $24.5M on the QB position between Love and Rodgers dead money. Pretty tolerable. Rodgers gets guaranteed money to not be screwed by the team and then gets freedom at age 40 to either retire or find a contender. GB gets very manageable cap figures going forward to add pieces without mortgaging the future.
Find a contender?
Lord knows with our defense that's been debateable in the past decade....

Thanks for that GD. It’s a good assessment of the situation. The rest of it is a Beautiful Mystery.
The #Seahawks announced they are re-signing Damarious Randall, but call him a CB, not a safety. A move to his roots.

Team still feeling the impact of missing on both he and Rollins.
Fools.

Which is worse, Packers signing King or Seattle signing Randall?????
@Grave Digger posted:
In NFL terms, they have.

Both Lancaster and Redmond could be camp casualties, this summer, depending on whom we draft, or sign as FAs. Right now, they are defensive depth.
Randall was a worse signing
Let’s not forget he quit in one of the Packers games. He was basically benched and left the stadium during a game. Not sure I’m aware of another player that’s done that.
Nice breakdown article of team needs...shines a light on the DL being not sufficient for Joe Barry's scheme.
Lowry and Lancaster aren't sufficient for any scheme.
