#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers: "You guys like telling us how we're just kind of an average team that knows how to win. But the key point is the 'win' part, because right now we're two wins from the Super Bowl, and we know for sure the first one's gonna be here."

Seems a bit chippy.
AR would be fantastic in the booth.
He's even more fantastic in Lambeau. Let it be!

I like when he's chippy. He plays better.
I concur
Here are some "highlights" of Rodgers from the Lions game i captured from the All 22. To be fair, he obviously had some good throws which I didn't include. If we get this Rodgers in the playoffs, we are 1 and done.
Bad pass to Jones #1

Jones #2. This one he throws off his back foot for no reason. Jones wasn't open, so it's not a horrible pass. If he comes off read 1, he has Adams wide open.

Incomplete to Adams, tough throw, had Lazard wide open in the middle. Takes a sack on the next play and we punt. Could have been at least 3.

Over thrown to Lazard. Poor mechanics again but where is the outlet in this play? All or nothing.

Lazrd wide opem stares down Jones who was initially doubled.
https://i.imgur.com/7P0WFxP.gifv
Over shoots a covered Adams. Poor mechanics and Graham open, you guessed it, over the middle.
https://i.imgur.com/kLBcR3A.gifv
Leaves the pocket early and thus misses an open Lazard over the middle. Then over shoots Jones again.

Start of 2nd Half from here.
Over shoots an open Lazard down the middle.
https://i.imgur.com/76AHhMf.gifv
Over throw to Irvin. Piss poor mechanics again.

TD to wide open Adams. Great move, Rodgers still does the weird back foot hop. Reminds of how Favre use to jump back after throwing a pass in his golden years.

Worm burner for no reason.
https://i.imgur.com/CaMCIvY.gifv
Over shoots double teamed Adams
https://i.imgur.com/oU8y8in.gifv
Throw away from a clean pocket with WR wide open in middle of field. WTF?
https://i.imgur.com/bUSHdXb.gifv
Over shoots a covered Adams because he doesn't trust the blitz pickup and has bad mechanics. Gmo comes open.
https://i.imgur.com/2KhDL39.gifv
Leaves a clean pocket and throws one in the dirt to a covered Adams.

TD to Lazard

Thanks. Most of those are just brutal, not seeing the field forcing things not going thru progressions
If you're going to rank QB's based on their 2019 season and nothing else, they're correct. However there is more to playing post season QB than one regular season worth of games.
If nothing else, I think Rodgers would be a lot better if he'd just step into his throws more. It's crazy just how lazy his mechanics look with a lot of falling back throwing off 1 foot type throws. I definitely remember at least 1 throw to Lazard where he did step into it and still didn't throw it well, but I still think he'd be much better off if someone can convince him to stay on both feet and fire instead of trying these off balance throws all the time when he legitimately has enough time to set.
He was great at those off balance throws when he was younger, but he clearly is all over the map now.
Best predictor of future performance is past performance. Hope I'm wrong, but don't see AR as playing significantly better in the postseason as he has this past regular season.
Aaron Rodgers 2019: I don't care.
It's going to be fun when he lights up the Saints defense.
Why do you think that will happen?
Go back & look at the games the Pack played minus Adams.
The throws against the Raiders & Chiefs.
This guy still has it.
I don't know if he'll continue playing like crap, be great or somewhere in-between. 1 thing I do know is he still has "IT"
Whatever happens.... this year has been as much fun as 1989....& They didn't make the playoffs that year.
Obviously, I hope you're dead on... we all do. I just don't share your level of optimism with this guy.
The videos posted above are pretty damning. We're not talking about one or two bad throws or a few bad games. We're talking about a pattern.
New HC, new OC, a receiving corp that could be better... all of those are factors without question.
Missing wide open dudes, throwing balls behind guys, overthrowing guys and tossing worm-burners isn't what we're looking for.
Rodgers CAN play better... It had better start soon.
I am with Boris on this one AR still has it I just don't think he has the best receiving supporting cast right now. What he does have is a pretty solid OL and a very good RB in Jones. And a defense that is playing well right now and we know how valuable that is especially after Capers.
The big thing to me is that sure Rodgers hasn't been the Rodgers we are used to but he doesn't have to be. One thing about the legends is that they will find a way to rise up in big spots and I think we will be seeing that very very soon.
More reps.
It looked to me like AR played his best when they really needed him to. Or in other words, he usually made the throws we're used to him making in crunch time. The whole team was overwhelmed vs SF and SD so it's hard to overcome that. He was mediocre in stretches of almost every game and we remember that more because we are not accustomed to seeing that. Is he not as dialed in or is the offense not as dialed in during the in-game doldrums? Can't say but they came through enough times when they had to to win 13 games. I'm generally of the camp that the current team is what it is, what we've seen all season. But on the other hand, based both on AR's playoff experience and the reasons above, I expect to see more of his better side next weekend.
I think MLF and AR have been working through the new offense all season to see what works and what doesn't. They'll have 2 weeks to pare things down into what they do best and save the experimentation for only the most opportunistic situations. That's my hope anyway.

Where are the videos vs. The Eagles, Raiders, Chiefs & Giants?? 2 of those teams are in the playoffs.
Elite QBs are supposed to make average/decent receivers look better. Average/decent receivers donβt ever make elite QBs look better.

Past performance meaning last 16 games or past meaning last 10 seasons?

Huh?

If he goes off for 300 and 3 Iβll take couple hours and memorialize it for the community.
Like I said in the original reply, he had some good plays. The probable is he had more bad plays than good in this game. Thatβs not what you expect or need from your 20 million QB.
Did he give money back?

Any of these critics realize the Packer's gameplan, this year, involves using our RBs more?
Had to with that loser QB.
Brainded,
Thanks for the videos. Excellent stuff.
The non-throws to wide open receivers in the middle of the field are maddening. If, for example, there is a lot of space in the middle of the field and a guy the size of Lazard is wide open in that space, how is he not thrown to?
Phaedrus, the answer to your question is "the wide receivers suck."
I hope that clears up any questions you may have.
No, it's one part of the equation but feel free to keep defending UDFA scrubs like they're HOFer's.
Rodgers that.. and you feel free to keep making excuses for a guy that consistently misses throws.
Will do. If anything just to keep jamming my finger in collective eyeballs of click bait posters. Reading JSonline and this board I'm pretty sure the Packers have collapsed and need to gut this team.
Not at all... We just need the QB to play better.
Just like the receivers. Amazing how that works. Probably need the coaching staff to put together more cohesion as well as everyone practicing on timing and a scaled back set of plays that builds everyones confidence, Rodgers included.
Crazy, I know.
If guys weren't getting open I'd tend to agree with you that the WRs are the problem. That's not the case though. Guys are open... AR has been either missing them with poor throws or not seeing them at all.
But yea, timing...
Ben Fennel posted a pass by Rodgers in Detroit last week where his entire body and feet were pointed to 10:30 on a clock but he threw it 50 yards flat footed to 2:00 to Lazard and the ball was perfect. The torque on his shoulder was pure insanity
Rodgers has the most gifted arm in football. Yes. He has to play better. But this entire offense just needs time. Itβs going to get better. Maybe not this year. Maybe this year. But itβs going to get better.
Completely agree Chili... Nobody (At least not me) is saying Aaron Rodgers sucks. That's the frustrating part of all of this. He's "Aaron-fucking-Rodgers" and the tools are still there without a doubt.
It's tiring and repetitive, but the truth is that the guy just needs to play better.
