Injured stars don't play and they're milking their contract.

Injured stars play, are ineffective, and they're washed up and/or got their payday so don't have to try.

Injured stars who hear/read this and speak out are malcontents.

he wouldn't be the first player to practice, but not be ready for a game.

he could be pissed off and milking his injury, or he could be listening to the medical staff.  I can't say one or the other as definitely as some other posters, but I can tell you he hates kittens

Then what is your explanation. He practiced all last week but still not active on Sunday.  Something just ain't right.

Big difference between practice which is pretty much non-contact once the season starts and actually going out there and hitting people at full speed. If his AC joint isn't right this isn't the season to push it. Hopefully next year is if it comes to that for Jaire or anyone else.

That said, I do think Jaire and others don't respect Barry and if he's 50/50 to play, having the status quo at DC could factor into decisions at least a little bit.

Forgive me if this has been discussed in another thread but ..... did everyone catch the story regarding the coin toss? Alexander took it upon himself to go out to midfield, even though he was not chosen as a captain for this game. So he goes out there and then when we win the toss and the official asks our guys what they want ...he jumps in and says "we want to be on defense". By the letter of the law that means we choose to kickoff at the start of both halves. He is supposed to say "we defer". Luckily, the coaching staff had told the officials we wanted to defer if we won the toss before the game. They told Alexander "you want to defer, right?", too which he said "yeah". When asked by the media about going to midfield, Alexander said "I guess the coaches didn't know I was from Charlotte". Some people may think this is nothing ....I think it screams "asshole"! I know the stakes of the NFL are much higher than I ever dealt with, but I would have sat his ass the whole game. In retrospect, would it have made any difference in our pass defense?

Lotta problems internally at 1265 right now.

From the buddy buddy Head Coach to the milquetoast, pillow soft Defensive Coordinator.

Let's see what happens in off-season.

Status quo bro....

We do what we do

We won! Defense isn't that bad....offense needs to be better and give the defense a rest.

Right???

I mean 33 points isn't enough. 45 or 50 is better to give the defense a rest. It's the offenses fault.

I wonder if Alexander plays vs the Vikings.   It’s possible he only played this week because it was a home town game.

The coin toss shenanigans are very telling.   He doesn’t respect this staff.

Wow, we are reaching now. If Jaire doesn't play next week it's a new injury, an illness or flare up of his shoulder. But he's got a chance to face Jefferson next week. He's not going to miss that game if he can help it.

Real pissin' match between Jaire and LaFleur.

If he's going to face Jefferson, he better play and tackle better than he did on Christmas Eve.

The guy has some pride and I think facing Jefferson is the two dates he has circled on his calendar every year. I would expect him to bring his best, whatever that means with his limitations due to the injury.

Alexander is one of the best cover guys to ever wear a GB uniform.   He’s universally considered a top 5 corner in the league.

That being said, I have no idea how healthy he is.

His mouth says he is.

Wow

Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander has been placed on the reserve/suspended list by the club for one game for conduct detrimental to the team. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Wednesday.

"The decision to suspend a player is never easy and not one we take lightly. Unfortunately, Jaire's actions prior to the game in Carolina led us to take this step," said Gutekunst. "As an organization, we have an expectation that everyone puts the team first. While we are disappointed, we had a good conversation with Jaire this morning and fully expect him to learn from this as we move forward together. We look forward to welcoming him back next week as he is a valued member of this team and will continue to be in the future."

This isn't going to end well. He's got the ego and the mouth to become a distraction at best, or a locker room cancer at worst, for a very young team.

Interesting that it was Gute and not MLF that made this announcement.  Probably because MLF was butthurt that Jaire has gone on the record about Barry’s schemes which indirectly takes a shot at MLF for sticking up for his buddy.

Rasual Douglas wasn’t exactly happy either and he’s in Buffalo.

If the Packers don’t win the next two games and look bad in the process then MLF and Barry absolutely need to be gone.  Things have to be bad internally even for a guy like Jaire to be pulling these shenanigans.   MLF has to appear in control but deep down I’m not sure many players respect his authority at all.  God knows Rodgers didn’t.

There’s nothing worse in the workplace than a person in charge that doesn’t hold his direct reports accountable - primarily due to the fact they are friends.   It’s the easiest way to ruin your culture and have others disengage.

MLF should have acted like a real leader and boss and fired Barry weeks ago.  Barring a strong finish it’s possible that MLF may also pay the price.

To me, just the fact that Alexander even thinks he can do that is not only a damning statement on his own character, but points directly to the lack of leadership on the team (Coaches and players).
