Yes, I wish they had given Jones or Vitale a shot at the goal line behind Elgton. I think he would have pushed his guy back at least three yards if not out of the EZ.
When they ran left, they did okay. They did okay running right in the 1st half before Bulaga went out. After that, Light was a turnstile and his guy blew up everything.
That was a point I made in another post: most runs go to the right when two of our best blockers are on the left. If they thought they were protecting Jenkins, well, I think he can protect himself and abuse opponents quite well, thank you very much!
Did they use Jenkins at tackle at all in the preseason? I wonder how he would do at RT if Bulaga can't go. Then they can use Lucas Patrick at guard. I guess they can also slide Turner out to RT and use Patrick at G on that side as well. The clips I've seen of Light are just awful. He'll get abused at Dallas.

He and Savage getting a lot of mentions on the rookie teams.
I like Jenkins' enthusiasm. After TDs, he's one of the first in the EZ celebrating. Rookie enthusiasm, yes, but refreshing. And yes, if MLF doesn't see on this week's film that Jenkins is winning his battles and start running behind him more -- especially at the goal line -- then MLF has a problem.

When the Packers RBs ran left, they had Bakh and Elgton on the line plus Marcedes Lewis on the edge, all blocking for them. I do not recall Marcedes on the right side of the O line very often, if at all.
Bakhtiari gets a lot of well deserved praise for his pass protection, but he and whoever is at guard next to him have been highly proficient at run blocking more often than not.
Yeah, he had two holding penalties (questionable) vs the Cowpies, but watch #74 on all the big run plays in this highlight...he's a rookie, and already the best OG this team has had since Josh Sitton.

From what I could see from watching that video, Jenkins' pass pro looks every bit as good as his run blocking. He wasn't perfect, but had many more wins than losses.
Loved seeing his pancake block on Jones' 2nd TD run. There was another play where he made it to the second (third?) level, and blocked 2 DBs.
Ditto for him eating Sean Lee's lunch all game long.

Don't know I'd even qualify as just this draft.
Blockit Man is showing up quickly but I wouldn't dismiss Savage OR Jaire at this point.
He’s played well, but shouldn’t we pump the brakes a bit? He’s gonna have good and bad tendencies that will show up to DCs. He’ll have to adjust but so far, he’s looked pretty good

He has a legit claim. Watching the all 22, he doesn't just win in the run game, he dominates. Pass pro has been almost as good.
