Pay Jenkins as Top 5 OL/G.
Pay Bak as Top 5 LT.
Pay Adams as Top WR.
Pay Jones as Top 5 RB.
Pay Kenny as Top 5 DT.
Pay Jaire as Top 5 CB.
Pay Campbell as a Top-ish MLB.
Extend AR.

Don’t care who the capologist is, doesn’t see, like everyone is gonna get paid by the Packers.

Damn you front office for drafting blue chip players. Damn you !!

Rodgers will significantly reduce his pay and keep the band together.   Everyone who wished his death will now wish for a taste of the tip.   Mark it down!  X4 never forgets.

...or, since the woke clowns who attack him over this issue just cost him millions in ad revenue so now he decides to continue to seek top dollar.  In essence, cancel culture causes the destruction of the 30 year run.   Thanks guys.

They won’t let Alexander go. He’s going nowhere. Same with Jenkins.

Adams I really think is gone. And unless they restructure Rodgers, he’s also gone next year.

I agree. As good as Adams is, he'll turn 30 at the end of the 2022 season and he's got a pretty substantial concussion history. He'll probably continue to play like a superstar in 2022, and maybe 2023, and then decline after that. The problem is you might have to go something like 5 years and 125 million and guarantee 60 million of it. That's a lot of cap charge to cover the out years.

Now finish the job while the ultimate blue chipper is still QBing the team.

I will say this, I cannot understate how big picking up Campbell was and his performance just being beyond a standard journeyman.  I will absolutely say the FO got lucky because nobody picks up a guy and gives him a 1 million contract thinking it's anything but a stopgap.  The move itself showed the same shit commitment to ILB.  Instead of the consolation prize the RNG of the NFL dropped a gem in their lap.  He's the ultimate gacha prize.

The weird thing is I looked at his numbers with the Falcons and Cards and they weren't bad.  Not spectacular but still good.  I think his exit from the Card was more likely Zaven Collins being drafted.

Good news for the Packers, the guy has been lights out.

I hope so.  There will definitely need to be some creative cappin' happening.  Z and/or P could be on the block.

As far as Rodgers, all he needed to do was quit being a victim.  Isn't that a lefty thing?

Man, Rodgers can do it all.

Now win a Super Bowl.

So Ryan Wood was just on The Big Show Network. Interesting speculation is that the drafting of Tom and Sean Rhyan may be to prepare for life after Jenkins.

Jenkins will be looking for a huge contract and if the ACL is good to go, he'd deserve every penny.

But the reality is the Packers cannot make every damn position "the highest paid player" in the league. It's just not feasible.

I'd love to keep Jenkins if possible, but if GB once again hits on either of these OL, it would make sense to go younger and cheaper with these players in their rookie deals.

If Bakh were cut next year, it's a$23 million cap hit. This year - $35 million.

Just don't see either happening.

Not certain I understand the concern with Bakh.  He has surgery, and then had excessive fluid buildup.  Said that his doctor told him the knee is structurally sound, but the only way to get fluid buildup to stop is REST. I expect him to be fully healthy and back to his normal "best in the NFL" LT come July.

I view Jenkins as a generational talent.    I firmly believe he is destined for the Hall.  You pay that man and cut Bahk if you have to do so to make it happen.

You just can't pay a guard $16m per year which would be the new highest paid. Guards just don't impact the game enough to get paid that much.  Guard is one of those positions where it's enough to just be "solid".

Jenkins either needs to play right tackle then move to left tackle when Bakhtiari's contract is up, or Packers need to let him walk.  They have enough cap issues to pay a guard top of the market money after already paying QB, LT, CB, and DT.  Those four positions are premium positions though, guard just isn't.

Except you really can't cut Bakh.  Not after this season.  Unless you want to take a $23 million "dead money" cap hit. The only card GB has is to franchise him.  And players love that.

This may come down to the same argument athletic, pass catching TE's make when they demand being paid as a WR and not a TE.

And for some of those dudes, I can't blame them. I'd want that level of pay too especially if I was getting screwed on a franchise tag as a TE vs WR.

Gute and Ball also almost certainly want to see how Jenkins returns from his ACL after Bakh's delayed return to make sure he looks like pre-ACL Jenkins . And in reality, that's probably smart business.

Bahk is a special LT. Jenkins, IMO, is not. He’s good at LT, no argument, but I’m choosing a top level LT over any player except for elite QBs.

In the span of time where Jenkins was playing LT, a stat came out from PFF where Jenkins was graded in the top 4 tackles during his span of "fill in " duty in the NFL.  And IIRC, he was in the top 4 at ALL tackle positions, not just LT.

I understand that some fans hate the grading formula PFF uses, but nonetheless, I remember being pretty impressed Jenkins was grading out so well considering that's not even his normal position

That is pretty impressive. So, should we trade him or Bahk? No way we can pay both he and Bahk elite LT money.

Jerry Kramer would like a word with you.

Actually, there are a lot of good points made in your post and others that follow.
Pakrz came the closest to my opinion; it's not so much the team would pay him for one position, they would pay him for his versatility. And that includes him performing admirably at any of those positions.

If the Packers indeed morph into a team that emphasizes the run more than the pass, how would that affect Daktari and Jenkins as far as long-term plans?

I like Bahk, but watching Yosh hold the fort while he was out made me think he isn’t worth the money.

Bakh is one of the best pass blocking LTs in NFL history. Hall of Fame level. He's an A+ in that regard. He's an excellent run blocker as well, but he's not an A+ for that - more like a B+. If you are going to eventually be a run-heavy offense, he is still incredibly valuable, but less valuable than if you plan to drop back, spread the field, and throw most downs.
